I can’t remember watching a more enjoyable and exciting 0-0 in my life.

I had the exact same thought when I left the ground. We'll enjoy every minute of it, the fans have certainly earned it based on recent times.

You can only get away playing that style of football for so long, I’ve said this for years, you get some good results and an element of success but in the end people get fed up of watching it and players get fed up if playing it …..and then wheels come off.

Totally agree. You do not get long term success and consistancy with that style. Its survival football at its best.

Sounded plausible until you said Bobby Clark made a save.........

It really was a brilliant save. I don't remember who hit it, but it was heading for the postage stamp until Clark finger tipped it over the bar.

That was some clearance, and the fact that it was our striker that made it just shows how much graft this team puts in on top of the easy on the eye stuff.

The work our attacking players put in is crazy. Just is so good at closing the opposition down and pressing, he covers the space really quickly. Then you have Said, who seems to have the shortest and longest legs at the same time, he's so good at keeping the ball, and finds ways to nick it back when he doesn't even look close.

10939 at the game. If we go with 4800 hearts fans thats just over 6k home crowd. Something special happening down Fir Park way.

South Stand capacity cut to 4,600. So about 6,339 Well fans. That's impressive.

Devlin was having some good natured banter with Stama and Said wandered over and gave Devlin a push. Not sure why but Said wasn’t happy with Devlin. Motherwell players got him out of the way before he done anything stupid. I didn’t see anything worthy of red card.

A fair summing up  but Devlin should never have seen the final whistle. He was very fortunate not to receive a 2nd yellow card. Referee bottled it.

Just in front of us. No I don't think so. Didn't see one at any rate.

I wonder what upset McInnes at full time. Didn't see or hear anything untoward.

Somebody mentioned he was reporting someone in the main stand to security but don’t know why.

For a 0-0 draw I enjoyed that game, can't believe Stephen Thomson and Steven Naismith thought it was a dull game.

Hearts were on the front foot for 25 mins in the second half and other than Henry's overhead kick clearance we were never in bother. Welsh was absolutely immense and McGinn not far behind. I felt Slatterys was falling into his old bad habit of playing for fouls. He's better when he's concentrates his efforts into the creative part of his game. However I do temper that with how physical Hearts were.

Just was outstanding all over the park with the exception of his final ball. Similarly Said has some great skills but his final ball is also poor.

That said those are small criticisms I thought we were a good watch again and would have merited the 3 points.

Also a terrific turn out by the Motherwell fans and by the reaction at the end I think most enjoyed it. Fir Park has a really good vibe with these bigger crowds lately.

I remember a nil nil against Aberdeen at Fir Park, very early in Roger Hynd's short tenure, so that would have been 1977/78 season. Bobby Clark pulled of a great save to deny the late Peter Miller. This would have been well after Martin Buchan had left the Dons so possibly not the match you recall, but it was exceptional game considering it ended goalless.

Thoroughly enjoyed that today.

Dominated the first half without really creating a lot. Havent seen the disallowed goal again yet, so cant comment if it was fair enough or not. However, Ward was barely troubled.

Second half McInnes changed it up and got their press working more effectively and stopped us playing.

Still rarely troubled us, but we were getting worryingly deep before Jens made his changes and we wrestled back control.

Finished the game strongly and created 3 really good chances. Just really should score and their keeper makes 2 excellent saves from Slattery and Fadinger.

Could have won it.

Really good performance.

We need to maintain these levels going into the next run of games and more points should come.

St Mirren having parallels with us last year, falling off a cliff after the LC Semi.

Was mentioned on P&B, but at times today (first half) we were putting in the kind of performance Celtic/Rangers routinely do to us at Fir Park.

Dont know if it was mentioned further back. But absolutely fabulous attendence today.

Well done to the 4600 Hearts fans in attendance.

But to have over 6300 Motherwell fans there today is pleasing to see.

More power to Jens elbow!

Yep completely agree. It's been a huge bugbear of mine over the last 10/15 years was our almost stagnant home support hovering around 4000/4500. I used to despair seeing other clubs getting real improvements yet ours went nowhere. So the turnaround this season is really pleasing.

The average home attendance right now sits at 8032. It's been a, long long time since we experienced these kind of figures especially when there's only one home OF game included in them. I realise there's an element of bigger away supports in those figues (Falkirk 1700) but we are maintaining around 5500 / 6000 a game and when football ain't cheap it shows if you entertain people they respond.

Maybe we are starting to exorcise the memory of the utter dross under Alexander, Hammel and Kettlewell from the memories of the occasional attendees.

Our average will take a hit for next two home games and it being a lead up to Christmas. However long may this improvement continue it just makes the match day experience so much better.

Thoroughly enjoyed yesterday's game, probably moreso than Tuesday's game against Hibs. We were up against 11 men for the duration of the match and playing the league leaders. We fully deserved our point but didn't quite do enough to warrant all 3.

A good first half, shaky 25 minutes after the break and finished strongly. Make no mistake, Hearts had all the hallmarks of a proper Derek McInnes team.  JBA got his tactics spot on in the first 45; McInnes reacted well at half time and JBA regained control with his late changes.  We played well in the early stages but didn't create much and overelaborated. Unlucky to be denied an early goal by VAR again. A shoulder offside? I ask you. Neither clear nor obvious.

Hearts started the second half well and had us pinned back for a good 20 minutes or so, but we didn't buckle. The highlight of the game for me was Callum Hendry's goal line clearance.  In general though, our defence played well and Stephen Welsh was my MOTM. The midfield wasn't quite firing on all cylinders, but played well nonetheless. We finished strongly, but poor finishing allowed Schwolow that little, but all crucially important opportunity, to showcase his skills. Still, we created chances.

I thought Kevin Clancy had a poor game and was outthought by Derek McInnes' charges.  The crime count of 4 fouls and  2 bookings versus 14 fouls and 4 bookings tells its own story. Shankland should have received an early yellow for lifting his hand and smacking one of our players in the face; and Devlin should have received a second yellow.

Lessons learned for us? We need to be more clinical up front and probably a goalscoring main striker should be on our shopping list. Callum Hendry and Ap Stam just don't do it for me. A missing piece in the jigsaw.
