It was Ibrox, no danger we get a penalty when it matters. The authorities will do anything to drag The Rangers back into a title race. They need the prize money to stop them going bust. Just like how often they get home cup games. There is only so many share issue investments they can do.

Financial fair play does not apply in scotland.

Also note they are in deflecting overdrive mode with their disallowed goal should have stood. No statements issued about the officials when they win, especially when it goes for them.

I do blame the referee. He was up with play with good view of incident. He bottled it. He could have given it and asked to confirm it or overturn it, ie give him the chance to review it again on tv.

By ignoring it he passes the buck.

As someone else said The Rangers players reactions said it all. They thought it was a penalty. The referee surely sees this big clue.

The clips I’ve now seen confirm to me it’s a clear penalty. I cannot believe VAR never looked at it.

just need to brush ourselves down and use it as motivation on Tuesday

Just adding my own perspective on longelo as think he’s a decent player .

Personal view is the left hand side of the pitch is an area we lack balance , therefore quite a bit of expectation for longelo to cover a lot of ground . Particularly today where rangers are pretty strong on their right hand side .

for contrast on the right we have JK but he’s supported by Said , Just and Sparrow who have a tendency to be on the right .

The times longelo has been at his best he has RCC on the left to support him .

Appreciate we all see the game differently - just wanted to chuck my 2 cents in .

Overall key that we find a different striker if we want to kick on and get top 4

Really good post.

Longelo like Stevie hammell of old had to make up for the ineffectual Said today (in terms or tracking and physicality) covering masses of space.

Said and even more so Osong don't fit into JBA's style of play. Charles Cook is a far more physcial player and would have helped Longelo more today.

Sparrow massively helped Koutroumbis on the other side.

100% there was contact...the only thing the photograph doesn't determine is who kicked who

Fernandez hung his leg out and took Fadinger down, can you imagine that not being checked if it had been at the orher end, no neither can i its a feckin joke.

Tgats at least two definite penalties Fernandez has got away with, yesterday and a few weeks ago against Livingston, and VAR do feck all.

See the flares again making an appearance.   No doubt a fine coming up soon.  Really wish the lads would give it a rest with them.  Continue the great encouragement but leave the flares

It needs to stop as the club will be getting more fines and/or sanctions until it does. As you say continue with the grear support without being wee fannies setting off flares and endangering the people around them.

The media have a big part to play in this. If the roles had been reversed and Rangers were denied an injury time penalty this would be a headline story this morning.

The story would run for days and the referees name would be in the spotlight to ensure that his personal life would be very uncomfortable for a few weeks.

I looked at the BBC sport page this morning and but for a tiny reference in the match report there is nothing.

The last example of this was the Trusty head knock on Butland. That story ran for almost two weeks and look at the decisions that have gone Rangers way since.

The Livingston non penalty actually did get some press time because it was so blatant but the story disappeared fairly quickly.

Rangers know this works for them and there are Rangers minded people in the media that are more than happy to help out. It will never change.

Had it been up the other end yesterday it would have been a penalty. I don't think it is a conscious decision by the referee to purposely cheat but in a split second he has to make a decision that will have implications for him personally over the coming days. It is always the safe option to favour Rangers in that situation as the lack of coverage of the incident proves this morning.

Looking forward to the monthly review of "we got this one wrong again, sorry" from Gollum. Where the fuck is the accountability?

But, will it be included in any review as VAR was not involved?  There's no accountability.

As for the goal we lost, it was a team effort. The scorer was afforded acres of space in our box. Longelo may have played a part, but only a part.

Their success rate in home cup ties over the last 10 years runs at 80% (4 in every 5 draws) very often against lower league opposition.

Motherwell's in the same time period is 50% much more in line with the probability of an evens chance.

I find it very difficult to believe that this is fixed because if it is our game is truly corrupt but it is also some coincidence that the most influential and powerful team in Scottish football just happened to have lucked out to such an extent in Cup draws.

It would be very interesting to know if there is any other Scottish team that has an 80% success rate in home Cup ties over the last 10 years.

Very true. The media is 100% complicit in this unacceptable situation and has been for decades. I can accept it from private companies as I can and do choose not to give them any money, but I am forced to fund the BBC. The media favour both halves of the gruesome twosome and had Celtic been involved, the exact same scenario would have unfolded.

Clear penalty for Fadinger ignored by the ref and VAR. That is cheating, plain and simple.

Said it before the rangers and celtic games, the ref will need to be strong.

Await Tuesday for that crowd to get the benefit of a decision.

You can see why so many fans in Scotland get hacked off , the selective use of var... used for said's disallowed goal for a supposed foul but not used yesterday ....it is total bollicks and treats the paying customers with contempt.

Unfair to have a go for goal, we played bloody well yesterday,  surely they can be afforded a mistake here and there...we won the previous two games v Rangers at Ibrox and yesterday was best we played

VAR must have been involved, even if it was just to immediately say check complete.

Injury time at Ibrox, Rangers hanging on for a point and you reckon VAR got involved, to possibly award the opposition a penalty..... its GrizzlyG's job to crack the jokes

No, I don't think so; just being objective. Others have singled out Longelo for criticism. I don't think it was just down to him. JBA will certainly have picked up on this. If we want to improve we have to analyse our weaknesses. Yes, we played pretty well, with the exception of our finishing but that doesn't mean to say we should absolve the team of all criticism.  Can we honestly sit back and say that there was nothing we could have done to prevent the goal? Was it a wonder strike that no defence would have prevented?

Most goals are preventable, I think the priority has to be a striker for this team, if that means neglecting other areas , fair dues

Longelo isn't best defensively but usually strong going forward, it's maybe something we need to live with

We deserve something from this season,  even if it's a European spot or a cup win, it would be galling to have this great fitba  not achieve anything.
