Poorest half of football I’ve seen us play in a while but in the end apart from a couple of wee slips at the back, pretty comfortable.

fadinger and Priestman didn’t put a foot wrong. I’d love to see their passes stats. Must be about 98% success.

Scrappy second half. Don’t think JBA will be pleased with second half

I'm just wondering if that's JBA asking the team to sit on a lead and see the game out as practice for playing against the big teams. Can't see any other reason for such a poor second half.

Possibly. And looks like we need a wee bit of practise on that.  Some slack passing amd control.
may not get away with that against other teams

Our defensive record says otherwise.

That will change if we don’t fix issue that pop up

We see them most games though, because we're not perfect. Opponents aren't perfect either, so don't always score when they get the chance.

Of course we want to minimize them, but not every mistake costs a goal.

If it wasn't for so many draws at the start of the season we would be genuinely league contenders I think

You can say "What if?" about so many games this season, but IF we hadn't dropped points after being 3-0 up against Hearts, and IF the stone wall last minute penalty had been awarded (and scored) against Rangers, we'd be sitting in outright second place just now, just 4 points behind Hearts.

Of course, there's also a parallel universe where we lost half of the games we drew - sliding doors...

The draws at the start of the season were part of the development process. You can't implement a completely new approach and have it work immediately. That was as true for someone like Klopp at Liverpool as it is for JBA at Fir Park.

The key will be can we maintain and improve next season now that everyone knows what they are doing. If we can, then it will be an exciting one.

Have you given up on a title race this season? I don't think it is quite over yet.

I still believe that Hearts will fall back into the pack a little. IF we get a win against Dundee, the Rangers game becomes huge and could potentially drag us right back into the fight.

I know it is a long shot but this season still holds much excitement. We still have to play Rangers, Celtic and Hearts twice. I am making an assumption now that top six is secured. Unbelievable to be making that statement in January.

I haven't given up, and I think we will certainly have an impact on the final winner. At this stage, however, I'd rank us as very much a long shot. A legitimate chaser, but still a long shot.

Might be different by the end of Feb.

I'm not sure I understand how possession is calculated, but this feels wrong

I don't know. Livvy had a lot of possession especially in the second half. We took our foot off the gas and were a bit sloppy.

Felt sorry for the big new guy. We gave him nothing but at least it’s another run out for him and great to see Nicholson back playing.

Ref gave him no protection. He was getting strangled, his jersey pulled and subjected to all manner of fouls.
