Orinoco
If only we could have been slightly better away from home. The only team that has got results away regularly are Hearts and they are top. We lack something different in attack when teams play so deep and negatively. Something to improve on. Dundee did this against Celtic. But Celtic got their usual 10 mins on extra time. To be honest you could have subbed anyone today. Maybe some of them like Maswhansie and Just believing the press hype that appeared this week with talk of big moves. I am afraid that Dundee wanted it more and thoroughly deserved the win. That's three times we have bottled it when it really mattered. Twice in the cups and then today. Had to feel for Priestman. Comes on as a sub and then gets subbed. Especially when Just was screaming to be subbed today We had plenty shots at goal, about half a dozen. Let's not change yhe narrative, we didn't defend well enough today but we are a far better team than Dundee...fair play to them

St Mirren in the cup semi final. Aberdeen in the Scottish cup . And today away to Dundee. This team could have been legends but the In years to come we’ll look back on this at it will be just another hard luck story. I agree with most of that Jim but in the cold light of day this team is excellent but simply not good enough to win silverware. Or, should I say, lacks the necessary qualities. Margins are thin, but but good football alone wins nothing. Lets just enjoy the football and irrespective of whether we end up 4th or 5th it will have been a great season and gives us hope that we can improve for next season.

I’m hoping to see some real determination at Celtic park and I hope that defeat today hurts the players and hurts Askou Probably, the Falkirk and Hibs games will be a better test. Celtic are a better team than us, and if we take anything from next week's game it will be a surprise, although not impossible.

Can't see us improving next season as probably half team will be sold and manager off also. Every season is rebuild for Mwell unless we sell one player and invest wisely.
ppower
Today. Dundee had just over 30% possession. They scored twice. Had a goal chalked off for offside and hit the underside of the bar. That's being efficient. Too many times we don't turn possession and touches in the opposition box into goals. We need more strength in the midfield to win tackles. Too many times Dundee easily won the ball in the midfield and broke forward. We need to find ways to win scrappy physical games. The balance between finesse and strength is not quite right. We are a better footballing team than Dundee for sure but we need to add some physical strength.

Dundee had 2 shots on target...like I say good luck to them...plenty had written Pressley off before season.

No its not, it will be in 9 games then its prize time, and we can all start planning the European tour, with the club counting the mllions in prize money. There is still a lot to play for, we may not win the title, but we will have a big say in who does, hopefully at the expense of both ugly sisters. We have won nothing. Yes playing good football but who realistically thinks jba will be there next season? Had some good nights especially at Mirren but Mwell always selling club old firm will improve next season. I wish we do keep manager and players but without proper money behind us it's not realistic. This is the most sensible post that’s been posted on here today and it resonates completely. This season has been very good for us and we have played some brilliant football throughout which have helped bring about some great results. But ultimately it’s yet another very good Motherwell side who will have nothing to show for it come the end of the season. And this year it feels even more of a missed opportunity given that we had the team to achieve something while both Old Firm teams have had their worst seasons in decades at the same time. We will be waiting a long, long time before that happens again. And before anyone asks the question “ahh but would you swap our season of great football for St.Mirren’s season, however that ends up for them in the league”? then yes, you better believe I would because they won silverware and have tangible success to point to from this season while we, yet again, have none. Pettywulliegrew-2
Dundee got their tactics spot on …..leaving both wings open and encouraging us to try and play through the middle……we never took advantage of this and unfortunately lost a soft goal…….the second half was better when we did have bit of width and failed to take our chances and lost the second trying to win the game We need to start having a shot instead of trying to score the perfect goal / walking the ball in the net Some of the pish spouted at the final whistle and on here is beyond belief ….we lost our FOURTH league game of the season FFS !!! Jonesy
4 defeats in the league all season, the first in nearly 3 months and all of a sudden the players are full of themselves or we need X, Y and Z. Sometimes it'll just be an off day or luck won't quite be in your favour. If people can't just accept that without the character assassinations in this season of all seasons then I honestly don't know how you manage to go about your daily life.

grizzlyg
I think we have all got carried away thinking we could actually win the league. Our aim is to make sure we finish 4th. 2nd defeat in 20 games . Rewind 13 months and we were at end of Kettlewell reign. Shows you how far we have progressed since then.
