David Posted yesterday at 09:15 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:15 AM It's that time again, where we look forward to a new season and discuss who's getting punted, how much we're getting for them, and who we're bringing in. Let the rumours and nonsense begin.
steelman1991 Posted yesterday at 10:03 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:03 AM I really hope that in terms of outgoings this is a really quiet thread
joewarkfanclub Posted yesterday at 10:05 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:05 AM I think Maswanhise will be sold. Welsh will go back to Celtic and be sold or put out on loan again. If we could get him back without breaking the bank great, but more likely we are looking at another player we can develop/sell on. Of those OOC. Gordon, Halliday, Robinson, Nicholson I would let go. Koutroumbis and Slattery Id offer new deals, albeit Slattery will probably move on. Just, Watt & Fadinger will all attract attention, so good to hear Jens say, they wont all be sold at the same time. I think there has probably been a conversation with JT assuring him that we wont step in his way in the summer. The rest will depend on the bids received. But we are undoubtedly in the driving seat. Particularly if we get a good fee for JT. Looking forward to a positive window with a net gain in cash and squad depth.
Mad Dog Posted yesterday at 04:21 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:21 PM Ox may be allowed to leave if another club is interested. Can't imagine it being anything other than a free transfer.
texanwellfan Posted yesterday at 04:24 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:24 PM JT needs to end the season with a bang and start scoring a few goals again to keep his stock up and hopefully end up top scorer in the SPFL

I dont think the club would stand in the way of any of our sellable assets if a good offer came along, one who might also go is Ward, a keeper who's had 20 clean sheets is a rare commodity in any league. if Jens stays and Mas and however many others go and we get the expected £M’s I'm sure the club will give him a decent increase in funds n wages whilst still being prudent. id love them all to stay with extended contracts but reality calls.. texanwellfan
Perhaps, if/when we qualify for Europe we can firm things up and hopefully keep JBA for another season which could hopefully convince the majority of our preferred players to also to stay here for another season. That would be great but I’m not sure just where we are with contracts for the team and then face loosing them for zilch next season or stupid basement offers next January? Perhaps someone could give us when they are OOC?
grizzlyg
If we get offered 3 million or more for JT then take it and use some money to give JBA and just improved contracts

Purely going on what Jens said yesterday. They will NOT all be sold at the same time, as we want to maintain the integrity of the playing squad. Makes sense. We are not just a money making machine. We are here to win football games. We cant stand in any individual players way indefinitely, but if for example good offers come in for Maswanhise and one other, I can see us asking other players to be patient with us. I wouldnt be too worried if Watt or Fadinger had to move on as the replacement is in the building, but I wouldnt be keen to let both move until further replacements had been sourced. I think thats where we can be cute and time it to our advantage. I dont see any last minute deals being done at the end of transfer windows without the ability to replace an outgoing player. Just will be the problem. Where do you find a replacement for him?
Stuwell2
Just is the one I’d prefer we keep for another season but if a crazy offer comes in - somewhere north of £7M which with 2 years left on his contract and considering the points he could make us next season that’s not that crazy - we’d have to take it. *depending on money received for TJ. You don’t replace 21 goals so far this season with contract renewals. Nothing wrong with those, but it’s not the same thing.

Jordan McGhee seems to be out of favour and I wouldn't be surprised if we try to move him on. .
thewelllfan
I think being realistic I expect that our Squad next season before signings will look like :- GK - Ward, Connolly RB - Sparrow, SOD CB - McGinn, McGhee LB - Longelo, Wilson CM - Watt, Preistman, Fadinger Rw - Said Lw - RCC St - Bjorgolfsson, Hendry Out - Maswanhise (4-5M), Just (2.5-3M), Stamatelopolous (200K), Slattery (Free), Gordon (Free), Nicholson (Free), Oxborough (Released), Koutrombis (Free), Halliday (Free), Robinson (Free), Welsh (Returns to Celtic). (Around 7M in fees) That would leave us needing a minimum of :- (8 Players) - 2 CBs, 1 CM, 2 AMF (Assuming we play same shape),LW, RW and possibly a ST
Kmcalpin
I can't see us just releasing the Ox, as he still has a year left on his contract. He's highly rated at Dunfermline and they, seemingly, have money to burn (whose money is another question). A loan deal - maybe?

I can't imagine Dunfermiline are covering his full wage we gave him a 2.5 year deal when we made him our N1 when Kelly left

Stama being another one, but Ive already mentally got him being a Sydney player next season.

Tawanda will be off & i wouldnt be surprised if its Watt who goes. If we make 2 good sales then based on the noises coming out of FP then that should be that. The most important asset for us to keep hold of is the manager however. Hes going to be in demand & with podcast & big long interview article last week his agent must be on a profile raising offensive as well. If we did keep him i think we could carry on improving even if we ship two of our better players.
weeyin
If Just has a good World Cup and raises his profile even more, we might receive an offer we can't refuse.
