First half of that sentence is doing a lot of heavy lifting there, particularly given McGinn is out for a while and one is Jordan McGhee..

True, but we have 3 fit left backs, and JK and SOD that can cover there when needed, so you have to think at least one will end up being surplus to requirements.

I'm not complaining, as we have struggled to fill that position in recent years.

Wilson or Longelo are the two who could move on i would have thought.

We need more experience in midfield and a proper number 9.

A creative wide pacey player would also be handy.

I'd argue we could do with a bit more experience in the team in general. Midfield, hard to see anyone displacing Fadinger or Priestman right now, so any experienced guy coming in to start would be a more attacking option, I'd assume...

Oh, I get it. We probably have more options at left back than we do centre half and we need two of them and one left back every week. If we could free up a wage by moving on a left back (Wilson would be the obvious one) and it could go to more options in midfield (where I'm currently praying every time Fadinger or Priestman go into a challenge) that would be helpful...

If we are bringing in more players we really need one of them to be a striker as  the current options we have are brutal, AP, and  Hendry, specifically.

From the way the manager is talking there will be several players to come.    Suspect that's mainly Midfield and Attack given the amount of defenders we now have.

I do think we already have a decent amount of attack minded players - Sparrow, Said, RCC, Lowry, JT are all good enough

I'd like to see us go for someone like Luka Jovanović - 21 years old, mobile and scored +50 goals for Adelaide.  Sounds like the right target market and would be interesting to see if he can make the step up.

I don’t think we need another striker from the A-League.

Nah. You beat them with movement and passes. Don't want to get dragged down to their level – just give Said the ball and leave him to it.

We may already have one in the shape of Jake Girdwood-Reich.

Not every player will turn out to be AP .

he’d scored 17 goals in a one off season and not a regular scorer before hand

the player mentioned has scored over 50 in 2 seasons - not the same prospect .

we’ve made quite a few decent signings from that part of the world.

Jovanovic signed for San Jose Earthquakes in mid-July unfortunately.

RW - Vogt, Ross

ST - Maswanhise, Bjorgolfsson, Stamatelopolous (Inj), Henfry (Inj)

Id be happy with 1 CM & a striker. Although some cover for RCC would be nice.

All depends on any outgoings though.

If JT leaves then we need to replace him as I dont think Luca Ross is gonna cut it unfortunately.

CM may need 2 players to come in and help with cover.

For forwards be great for JT to stay and hit some form.  Appears that interest has reduced but if he starts banging in goals in Europe and the league that could quickly change.

We could potentially replace all the front line, not convinced any of them will cut it or be fit.  In addition to someone who can bang in goals we need someone who can help hold the ball.

So far we’ve played three games, scored 7 goals, and conceded once.
You can argue about quality of the opposition and chances but arguably the recruitment has focused on what we knew, that a creaking/injured defensive setup was replaced.
it’s not as if we haven’t brought in attacking players and everyone wants a striker who can “bang in the goals”.

I suspect we all think AP and CH aren’t good enough and Eythor needs to get fit to judge so that’s the main gap so far.

Yes we can/should strengthen in some areas but I wouldn’t call current first team operating with one hand behind the back.

I've only seen Vogt once but I was very impressed. Once he's fully match fit I think we'll have a cracking player on our hands.

I was quick to criticise Vogt after his Fir Park debut because he was utterly shite. Since then, though, he’s started to show flashes of real quality. He’s still rusty and can look a bit off the pace or, at times, like he’s never played football before, but I’m happy to see him proving me wrong.

I think Vogt will come good once his fitness gets to the required level.

Its been a big step up for him, but there are certainly flashes that he is getting there.

I love this part of the season when there is a promise of good things in our future.

😆😆😆
