Having said that, I’m not sure what the ideal squad size should be. would be interesting to see what thoughts plans go into building a squad and I’m sure each manager has their own ideas.

Plus Miovski is brutal. I always think there needs to be a premium added if you sell to a direct rival. We can't stop it, but we can profit from it. Miovski might fit into our side OK, but it will never happen. The only reason Rangers are involved in the JT chat is because we play them at the weekend.

Rangers have been involved in the JT chat for months. I'm not saying it is likely to happen but if they offered £3m I think we would sell. On his 2026 form that is a premium. MotherwellFC1886 Posted yesterday at 01:30 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:30 PM We will be lucky to get 1 million for Maswanhise. Chauffeur him to Ibrox if they offer over 7 figures for him
texanwellfan Posted yesterday at 01:44 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:44 PM I think he will start to score goals again once we have the team thru a few practice sessions with AJ. I also think Thor will nab us a few goals.

His form may have dropped off, and I have been critical of him, but we have moved on from being soft touches in the transfer market. £3m seems about right for the leagues top scorer. Add £1m on top if its Rangers & Celtic as they wont pay that.

I can't see Rangers ever spending that amount on one of our players though. They could have had Elliott Watt for close to that.
MJC Posted yesterday at 03:28 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:28 PM I would have thought bringing in another goalkeeper would be something we’d look at before the window closes. We’re surely not simply going to go with Connolly as the main backup?

Big Stall Posted yesterday at 04:17 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:17 PM For me, we would be mad to sell Fadinger this window. Just signed a new deal & was very much a key part of last seasons midfield albeit the junior partner. This season is his turn to run the show. Do that & we can cash in next summer! Longello, would rather keep but if he wants out then lets not upset the squad. Tawanda, if the right offer comes in he goes. If not, he stays and shows hes not a one hit wonder! My take on it anyway

AJ did mention that some older players i.e. not youths, may go out on loan. So, who knows?
thewelllfan Posted yesterday at 06:02 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 06:02 PM Not at all relevant to the discussion but the PFA list for their next camp is out and Gboly Ariyibi is on it bring him home. Ariyibi and Said on either side would be absolute chaos. Marvin Johnston is also on the list if Longelo goes he seems to have became a LB down south so we could ask the question. (I also accept these players probably wouldn't get in our team just now but I loved both when they were here)
weeyin Posted yesterday at 06:11 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 06:11 PM I like Gboly, but he only played 17 games for us 7 years ago. Not a fan of bringing 31 year old journeymen "home" when we can sign guys like Kanga instead. Ive a feeling that position will change dramatically by January so Id be inclined to cash in on him now.

Spit_It_Out Posted yesterday at 08:34 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:34 PM If we can keep what we have then its been a fantastic transfer window...however I fear one window after the English ones close thats Turkish one shuts on the 4th. Spit_It_Out
Its simple any of them want Longelo they have to pay and pay well for him they dont have much options to recruit now we hold all the cards. What a transfer window from us btw really really good happy with all the business we done.
