I’ve seen absolutely nothing from us to suggest that we are capable of taking anything from Celtic, who by the looks of it will likely have a new manager in place for this one.

0-2 defeat

New Celtic manager apart I was spot on unfortunately.

I can’t remember the last time I left a game early but here I am on my couch.

clueless selection, Sparrow isn’t a right back and O’Donnell isn’t a centre half. Knight-Lebel gets a game for Canada but can’t get into this side and worst of all Vogt looks like he’s won a competition to get into this side and could justifiably have been taken off after 30 minutes, his only contribution was getting melted by the ball.

We are determined to go down the right in spite of Longelo being our most direct attacking threat and even when he’s in acres of space there is no desire at all to get the ball out to him.

Very worrying.

Poor finishing and paulsens saves it was 2 going on 8,really poor especially at home, problems all over the park, defence, mid and up front.we lack physicality all over the park, voghts has surely played his last game for us,dismal, would struggle in lower leagues, what hes done in training to get a start beggars belief.

Here are the most telling stats of the game.

Celtic 26 shots 15 on target

Motherwell 8 shots 2 on target

Celtic had 63 touches inside our box

Motherwell had 20 touches inside their box

Paulsen saved us from conceding 6. He made 12 saves. The most of any goalkeeper in the SPL so far this season.

I could have picked a team out of the crowd that would have played better.

Lowry and Fadinger were non-existent...Said made a difference when he came off the bench

Pretty much saved me a post there mate. Thanks 🙂

Sparrow and his constant turning back has been a major factor in us not being able to get forward. Before the team was announced I'd have expected SOD to replace Sparrow and Knight-Lebel to replace Girdwood Reich. Vogt starting was just a joke. The attacking up the right all the time with one player who is neither a RB or an attacking midfielder and one player who isn't even a player was a tragic piece of management. Not using Longelo the way he should be is criminal and the defensive midfield not moving like they did last year (off the ball) is worrying. We've also stopped trying to move quickly at free kicks and throw ins. I could go on all day.......looks like The Swedish kettlewell has learned nothing during the break.

I’m not in the sack the manager camp yet but he looks clueless

What’s the point in the big centre forward if we’re not putting crosses into the box

5 minutes to go he’s on our 18 yard box 2 down & he’s got no pace

maswanise’s been terrible lately but even I was saying get him on

kanga….what even is kanga

we had a blueprint to copy from last season despite losing the players & no idea where these signings fit in

sad to say but this is a season too far for O’Donnell

It just looks like AJ is almost being forced to play the Jens way which is why we just fuck about at the back with the passing and always go back the way.

He doesn't have a clue by the looks of it and has clearly lied on his CV about his style of play 🤯

Its a Temu version of a Jens team and style.......................garbage and I agree with MJC for just about the first time in history 😜

Correct and the manager should have made the change at half time. It was obvious that team selection was wrong. I said to my mate we'd wait until we were 2-0 down before we changed the team. Manager 100% culpable. No doubt everyone will blame SOD for the 2nd goal but for me it lies with Sparrow.

Sparrow was getting roasted the entire game and the manager did fuck all to protect him or change..

That's been the last few games we seem to only be interested in going down the right side which can only be an instruction coming from the manager and it clearly isn't working, longelo is now cutting a very frustrating figure when you see him in space and isn't getting the ball.we're looking very poorly coached at the minute with the basics not even being done,as you say very worrying indeed.

Sparrow may have been getting roasted but Vogts offered him no cover on our right side. Every meaningful attack from Celtic came down that side. Neither wonder Tierney got man of the match. He had the freedom of Fir Park. If I had taken his place I would have got man of the match.

I'll give any player that takes to the field for us but in all honesty, Vogt really shouldn't play for us again. Not fit enough and looked burst after half an hour, not up to the level and looked generally uninterested. I don't know what to say about Paulsen. Looked extremely suspect at the first goal but then kept us in it several times but the damage is already done. I think it's harsh to say there were no pass marks however. Said ran the show for us when he came on and I thought Palmer Holden led the line well on his own despite having very little to work with.

Celtic dominated and deserved the win but for all their possession they didn't exactly tear us apart.

Their goals came from poor basic defending and an individual error and it's this that's really holding us back this season.

The goalkeeper and back four just aren't on the same level as last seasons personnel.  O'Donnell had an Indian summer last season but he's done.  Paulsen isn't the keeper Ward was and his distribution is no where near as good.  Moormann and whoever he's playing along side aren't McGinn/Welsh level.

Goals change the whole dynamic of the match and we are losing too many opening goals and goals at crucial stages of the match.

There are also areas that, to be fair, haven't been addressed since the Kettlewell era, specifically right back and striker.

That said I think our support could do more to help the team through a transitional period.  Apparently it only took four games for the toxic element in our support to stick their heads up again.

You try and justify that pish and criticize the support.  What's more worrying is that someone agreed with you. Yeah its the fans fault for not getting behind the team.  It's not a transitional period. We are in free fall without a parachute.

Toxic?

Can you define that and how it relates to our support please?
