  1. Past hour
  2. Why can't you predict anything negative? I've no need to have a long hard look at myself. I've not seen anyone who wants the manager removed at this juncture and nor should we be even entertaining this. However, my prediction is that he won't cut it, for a number of factors I have seen so far. We need to give him some time to figure out if my gut feeling comes correct.
  3. Now that Ive had the drive back from Dundee to calm down I'm probably going to be in a minority of one. I didn't think it was bad as the hysteria being spouted online suggests and those saying the managers a dud and needs removed are needing a long hard look at themselves. We played better football today than we did against Aberdeen, particularly in the second half where we upped the pace of the press. First half the build up was slow and predictable and there is no hiding the fact we have fuck all up front with Maswanhise. The important points as I saw it. We beat ourselves, it was all self inflicted I.d be more worried if Dundee were a better team than us. This was a Dundee team getting plaudits from everywhere at how good they were and had we not shot ourselves in the foot they were never beating us today.. 1. We gifted Dundee two goals, they didn't have to work hard for them. 2. Maswanhise should now be benched, he's not even nuisance value. 3. SOD needs brought back into the team. He can deliver decent balls into the area and with Eythor Bjørgolfsson in the forward line we have someone who could take advantage and unsettle the opposition. Maswanhise couldn't unsettle me.. 4 Sparrow was far too content to turn back and play the safe easy ball and creating fuck all. 5. Hodge ain't doing it for me as yet, we badly need Preistman back. 6. Jake Girdwood- Reich is slower than a week in the jail and again nearly cost us .His style of play actually encourages the slow pedestrian build up. When the ball is played out to him he never does anything at pace its slow and pedestrian and it allows our opponents to set up in positions to stifle us. 7. Its time for Eythor Bjørgolfsson to start . He did more to unsettle Dundees defence in 8 minutes than Maswanhise or RCC have done in 8 games. 8. Manager is being too predictable and loyal in his team selection. We have a big squad and we have different options the manager now needs to use them. I actually don't think we are too far away we just need the manager to make the necessary sacrifices among some of his automatic picks and for the players to learn that they don't need to take 4 or 5 touches in the box. If he sticks with his predictable first team picks we are going to see more of the same.
  4. That's him already at the stage in his press conferences of trying to tell me I didn't really see what I've just seen. Alexander and Kettlewell were masters of that one.
  5. On 2nd thoughts................
  6. Anybody that doesn’t think there’s concerns on this Motherwell team is delusional 8th place finish & manager not to last the season was last season a fluke or has the data model got it wrong because there obvious issues with this team
  7. Today
  8. Let me know if they let you, I know where I can lay my hands on rotten tomatoes. 😂
  9. Thats fine and I get that, but many of us are not convinced by Matty Connelly.
  10. In spite of a poor performance, I dont think Dundee were better... time to give Paulsen a rest, hes costing us games
  11. We're far to slow in possession with no real attacking idea and now we're seeing more and more individual errors costing us,that's a recipe for disaster, the manager was loyal to too many today after that horror show against aberdeen and we got no reaction from the team as a whole, some of them need a boot up the arse and a spell on the bench.im still all for the manager but he needs to start getting it and quick, that's him been outfoxed and played right into the hands of two duds in robinson and pressley,he's got options at his disposal and he will need to start changing it up a bit as we look like we could very easily go on a really poor run of form.
  12. It seems AJ has had the ‘misfortune’ of having a far better than expected start to his time. Most of the signings also appeared to have hit the ground running and be exciting prospects. A number of us, optimistically as it turns out, expected us to just get stronger push on further. On reflection if you’d told me before a ball was kicked that we’d get through two rounds comfortably and lose to top German team then after 7 league games have 8 pts - 2pts off 4th and 4 above last place I’d have been delighted. I’d therefore consider myself more frustrated than worried because of the last three games. The international break comes at a great time for us to allow a rest and reset and I’m still in the optimistic camp that we will kick on and be challenging for top half rather than looking backwards.
  13. Since the St Mirren game I think we have tried to be a little less gung ho and show more patience but based on the evidence so far I think we have gone too far that way. We pretty much have been in charge of posession in most of our games, bar Freiburg, but have lost our attacking edge. We need to revert back to being a bit more risky amd allow the players to go attack. It’s much more entertaining.
  14. This is where I'm at. I too have concerns but no more than that, at this stage. We should have expected performances to improve, even if only slightly, as the new players settle in and the manager gets his ideas across. We've spent a fair bit of cash (for us) on new blood but they're not performing so far; certainly as a team. What is concerning though is that decent players like Fadinger, Longelo and TJ have regressed - why? WE now have a 3 week international break for AJ to get his ideas across on the training pitch. He's now got to earn his corn. He didn't make any changes to the back line or defensive midfield today and that was a bold decision. It clearly did not work. Fans are fickle and starting to lose patience and we risk undoing a lot of the progress we made last season if we are not careful.
  15. You know how this forum works, 7 games into a 38 game season we are on a bad run last 3 games, 4 points off 3rd and the manager and team are being questioned 🤦‍♂️ Every team will have a bad spell, we did last season and it worked out ok. The board will give AJ time and i have no doubt he will get it right and we will start winning again.
  16. We know, you told us half an hour ya numpty!.........he he
  17. JGR had a good game, no-one else did.
  18. 😂😂😂. Thought it didn’t post
  19. Well at the very least we were looking for a good performance today and we were nowhere near that standard. We started off the season well, despite a hectic opening to the season but have deteriorated since which is a puzzle and a concern. You would expect exactly the opposite as the new manager settles in and gets his ideas across.
  20. We know, you told us half an hour ago ya numpty 🤣🤣
  21. Rough patch at the moment but I’m confident we’ll come out of it.
  22. I couldn't get ticket for early October for the night at fir park where AJ meets the supporters. Jeez be a cracking atmosphere at that night now. Maybe i should go on as the warm up act and take the heat off AJ 🤣🤣
  23. Let me be clear from the start — this isn't a call for Alfred Johansson's head. But the concerns around this Motherwell side are real, and they're growing. Performances matter, and right now we are regressing. Several of our recent games haven't just been slip-ups — they've been dreadful. That's not a bump in the road, that's a pattern. We' have decent quality in this squad. Given that, the manager needs to take a good, hard look in the mirror. I get that this is a huge overhaul and these things take time. But the regression is clear, and right now it isn't obvious that Johansson has the answer. He'll get time — nobody's calling for him to go. This is just stating the obvious: something has to change, and soon. Fans won't keep turning up for this. It was never only about winning — it's about being entertained. Unless we see a real improvement in performances, the good work from last season is going to be undone. The basics of how this team is set up need serious attention.
  24. Suppose with opponents knowing how we play and sitting in a low block aint helping. Tho, im not sure offensively we are running enough. We need a leader in the team. To many heads drop when things go against us.
  25. It's still September. We can get a proper snapshot of how we're looking after Christmas.
  26. Far far too early for us to be anywhere near thinking that. I feel we have a good squad but AJ needs to work out his best line-up and drop the underperformers. Robinson was under pressure and has had a massive week. Hearts manager was being questioned early on and is improving things. All fans forums probably same as ours. Win a game and we are all smiling, lose and its a crisis.
