  1. Past hour
  2. Yes he did in the 2-2 draw about a month before he quit
  3. I am not saying a few folk might have said something but I am starting to see a pattern in Kettlewells behaviour it's exactly panning out how he left us and it seems to be playing it again. He is very deflection based injuries, rub of the ball, bad decisions going against the team nothing to do with his own bad tactics and such. I think it's Mr Kettlewell that needs to have a look at himself in the mirror due to his abusive behaviour its not the first time let's be honest.
  4. Did he not get sent off for abuse when we were playing Rangers too?
  5. Today
  6. There were allegations of abuse, but nothing to substantiate them. I hadn't heard about threats - thats another level. His case is undermined somewhat by his treatment of match officials ie Saturday. I doubt he was red carded for wishing the official a merry Christmas.
  7. A boyhood hero of mine. A tough wee stiker who could mix it. When he left to go to Glasgow, I thought the world would come to an end. It didn't though. Although only 5-9 in height he was great in the air. RIP Dixie.
  8. I was pretty young when I saw him play, but he was another one that set my expectations high at an early age. With his prolific goal scoring exploits followed shortly afterwards by a Mr. W. Pettigrew, I thought that's how it always worked with centre forwards. (I know better now). I had a few of these bubble gum cards in my collection too
  9. Yes, he was a tough and skilful low-centre-of-gravity goalscorer and I was very disappointed to see him leave for Celtic (like Joe McBride before him). Reputedly the last player to score a goal by shouldering the goalie over the goal-line. IIRC it was against Dundee at the Taggart's end.
  10. I'd be happy to let Connelly play as he does have some decent first team experience, albeit at a lower level. Plus, in the games he did play this season, he looked very comfortable in our new system with the ball at his feet. I agree, however, we need 3 on the books.
  11. On Ox, Killie are in trouble because they neglected to have a competent backup keeper, and decided to go with an unproven kid instead. Then all it took was one injury to really mess them up. I think connelly is probably better than the guy Killie has, but it would still be a big risk letting Ox move without bringing in a decent backup.
  12. January we need a LB and a CB to strengthen the squad. If Halliday goes another CM as well Allan Campbell still a FA so we could do worse than bringing him back as cover for half a season. Then we need to look at can we offload Nicholson, Stuperavic, Balmer. If Robinson is back fit maybe even end Osongs loan and keep him as 3rd choice. Finally identify targets to replace Maswanhise and Welsh as they are probably the 2 we're most likely to lose in January. We have 6 Sts on our books at the moment Stama, Hendry, Osong, Robinson, Stuperavic, Sule Need to shift 2 or 3 wages there imo. Also was rumours before Oxborough got injured that Killie we're looking at him so if Jens doesn't fancy him can't see us making that a difficult deal to do.
  13. Final thing i will say is i remember Brian Caldwell being shocked when SK told him his decision. Surely if SK had concerns why did he not tell the club and they could have acted and put measures in place? Anyway he done us a favour as if he hadn't quit we wouldn't have got JBA, with Wimmer in-between
  14. RIP Dixie Deans 79 Before my time but great goalscorer for Motherwell
  15. No one should be abused at their place of work. And it should go without saying that no-ones family should be abused at their place of work either. However, football is an emotional game, as SK showed repeatedly on the touchline with us and on Saturday night at Kilmarnock. If you have been in the game for as long as he has, you know this, and you deal with it. I dont wish any ill on him or his family. As others have said, we have much to thank him for. But the manner in which he left did leave a bad taste in the mouth, so I wont be weeping any tears for him regarding his current travails either.
  16. First he said he was taking abuse at Fir Park. When that was questioned he decided that it was his family that was getting abuse at Fir Park. When that was questioned he said it was on social media or his kids at school. I'm sure there were fans telling him he was useless during his long winless spell. I'd be surprised if anyone in the Main Stand was abusing his immediate family (although they may have heard fans yelling at him). Kids getting teased at school because their dad's a football manager sounds like par for the course regardless of what team you manage. If any of that was true, then I agree, there is no place for it - but it sounded more like excuses for his failure, and he didn't want "damage his brand". If he had been like Robinson or McCall, and told the truth that he was no longer able to get a performance from the players despite everything he had tried, I'm sure he would at least have had the respect of most fans. I'm also sure, if his family was taking abuse at Fir Park, the club would have worked with him to stamp it out. Of course, if you are a football manager or player who expects to go through every match without taking a bit of stick when you lose, then you are probably in the wrong profession.
  17. No one should be subjected to abuse and threats and I highlighted that at the time he left but his stories seemed to contradict each other as folk that sat in O'Donnell stand and were at away games didnt recall it being as bad as he was making out. Way he left club for me was terrible in way he more or less blamed whole support and to bring out that interview with The Sun on day Wimmer was appointed was lack of respect though that was probably the Sun's decision. Yes there are wallopers in every support. The guy at Falkirk home game a few weeks ago at back of Hunter stand beggared belief. Thankfully not seen him since, probably in a mood as we are playing great football 🤣🤣 COYW
  18. Has it ever been proved he was getting abuse and threats or was it a figment of his imagination.
  19. I'll always be grateful to him for his first half season with this football club. We were plummeting towards relegation with Hammy and he didn't inspire any confidence in his interviews, so SK was a breath of fresh air. He got the results that we needed on the pitch and also put in a lot of work getting players released to free up wages and steady this football club's finances. After that, he didn't do so well, he managed to sign some pretty poor players and he became very indisciplined towards the end - perhaps due to the pressure he was under - but he didn't deserve abuse and threats.
  20. Yesterday
  21. Are you Yogi Hughes in disguise 🥸
  22. Humpey and gropey were rumbled along with the other 1970's presenters 🤣🤣
  23. Good honest players winning second balls from punts to safety - you know it makes sense.
  24. It's not a slight on us, but adding 2 wins to our current run is asking a lot, just based on how this league goes, and the whole law of averages thing, i.e. vibes. I'm more confident in keeping this going than I would have been with other managers (and squads), but I think Tannadice will be a tricky one, and they really need to pull lut a result to halt their bad run, and as mentioned above, they have some decent attacking players. On the other hand, their defence is woeful, and they still dont know how to sign goalkeepers. Also, Goodwin likes a death spiral. On Dundee, they will be ultra defensive, so that will.be a different challenge.
  25. Hope yer 6 wee pals are doing good plus the other two that nobody mentions, Humpey amd Gropey
  26. Stop that kind of talk at once. I'm a BBC pundit and Scottish fans would much rather have seen the free kick put out at the corner flag so that Motherwell could have tried to force a mistake. This playing football stuff is an outrage against society.
