Cornelius didn't want to stay with Motherwell. He rejected a new contract. He was in the press saying his dad wanted him to stay at Motherwell but he didn't. So honestly how this can be seen as a Kettlewell failing is beyond me. And good luck to the boy. He had talent but he wasn't phenomenal. Same as McKinstry and Tierney and all the other players some fans keep shouting that we shouldn't have let go.2 points

Aye, that's why he was brought in, because we were cruising with a fantastic squad playing out of their skins.2 points

I like it when we win games which is why I'm fed up with the current chancer manager. It's the people who seem happy enough to watching losing football every week as long they get their calender signed and a few wee videos to watch on their phone every week that are the problem.2 points

A very good question. Our fans and St Johnstone fans are very different and our expectations are very different. Levein is a very good fit for Saints in that he's continuing established traits, if not results. They are a cynical, physical and streetwise team, no in fact club. Solid with few errors. Those traits are unacceptable to our fans, who like to be entertained, but not St Johnstone fans. As far as they are concerned they have 2 simple golden rules, based on the Alex Ferguson and Matt Busby approach to football. Just do it and don't get caught. Winning is everything. Win at all cost.1 point

well grizzy it would be safe to say thats another 1 on steelboys hit list1 point
-
You could make your point by using actual stats instead of exaggerating them. We just had 25 days without a league game.1 point
-
So Levein is no better than Kettlewell but Levein did get the StJ job ahead of Courts but Courts is better than Kettlewell Kettlewell is apparently shite so that must make Levein similarly shite which surely in turn must make Courts even shiteyer ? š1 point

Don't listen to the idiots on this thread. They don't understand the wording "support your team"1 point
-
Supporting Motherwell will always be an up and down experience and often more downs than up. It's very easy to get into a "yes we're doing ok but we'll fail next week" attitude. There are individuals in this forum unfortunately stuck in this rut and can't wait to see the team/manager fuck up so they can air their grievance. Tragic in truth.1 point

I can be a moaning faced git at times but seldom about mfc, if I see effort and potential, that's all right ...I'll keep coming back1 point

The trolls don't care about that, they enjoy discord...that gives them the limelight in a fans forum...glad st online doesn't have trolls1 point

As well as a Man of the Match poll could we introduce a Miserable bastard of the week poll?1 point

I thought we deserved to win today and overall played well , particularly in the second half. It's not the win we'd have deserved but it's another point nudging us further away from Livingston. Appreciate the 1 league win in XX games comments. My thoughts are in the last 10 games played we've won 2. drawn 6 and lost 2. I don't think we should be jumping over the manager for this. We're 9th in the league which is probably about right for the size of our club. Of course I want to see us winning and with a bit more quality about us I think we will. With players coming back from injury and some reasonable new boys in we may just kick on and win a few games.1 point

The players he inherited were on an absolute downer. But just pick and choose the stats to suit yourself. You are the problem because it is not black (as you are) or white (everythings great) The objective fan notes it's somewhere between the two.1 point

Kettlewell had an extremely favourable run of games last season with 14 games where 9 of them were against bottom 6 teams.1 point

I suppose St Johnstone and Ross County might feel the same, given they're below us. The Great Levein has certainly brought the beautiful game to Perth.1 point

Watch you don't put your back out moving those goalposts. Get Tam Courts to help you, he's at a loose end the now.1 point

Kettlewell has a better points per game record with us than Courts did with Utd.1 point

It'll be interesting to see the replays of there goal as it looked well offside with Considonkey interfering with play. Delighted for big Bair.1 point

Great seeing one of our players scoring against former club, usually only works other way round1 point

Your observations are always spot on Mio gent is only player with any creative outlook on the game . last season we went back to 3 centre halves to shore up defence and it worked - this season it hasnt be happy to go back to 2 centre halves and put something , anything into midfield /attack1 point

At least when Hartley was here we had Aldred in defence who was significantly better than any of our current options.1 point

Colin Steven the ref today. I know we were well beaten earlier in the season but his performance that day ranked just under Stevie O'Reilly. I can see it being a stop start game with a single goal winning it, hopefully we aren't feeling generous up our end.1 point
-
Completely agree with you. No matter what Kettlewell does it never seems to be good enough - Im talking in general terms here - all over social media. His hands are surely tied by the budget he has available to him1 point
-
Despite the injuries & departures and all of our pissing and moaning, goal wise, we recruited more successfully than anyone outside the Old Firm. Now we need another rabbit or two out the hat.1 point

At the time of them both signing, Biereth came from Arsenal and Obika did not. I see your point, but let's not compare apples with oranges. Signing a promising young player with an injury history on loan from an Arsenal or a Celtic is not the same as signing an older player with an injury history on a permanent deal. Back to the thread topic, Iām heading to Perth today, so let's hope Bair proves me wrong.1 point

Very good fizoxy. Looks like grizzlyg will be thinking your about to take over his top spot as SOL comedian š1 point

You seriously think we've not been trying ?? Big gamble makes it sound like they've all been sitting about going "Should we sign a striker for saturday or do you think it can wait til Monday ??" Seriously, get a grip š1 point

As much as it pains me to say it, he's worked daily with the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Ange Postecoglou. He's spent his time there training with a much higher quality of player than you'd find at Fir Park, and Norwich City as well. He's also spent his time there getting accustomed to life and how to deal with living as a player at a big club. At Norwich, he could have been wandering the city without many people bothering him. Not the case at Celtic, and it won't be the case if he ends up at a club like AC Milan or whoever picks him up this summer. Yeah, he's always going to be a talent. That doesn't go away. He was talented when he left Motherwell. Add in the above and he leaves Celtic as a better player than he was when he arrived there.1 point
-
No, but you can implement strategies to mitigate against the risk of non-contact soft tissue injuries in training and during games. Strength and conditioning training in addition to footballing drills is one key example, and another could be recovery methods or nutrition. I'd say that there's a lot more to it than just accepting that certain types of recurring injuries across an entire squad are part and parcel of the game. At the very least, we could avoid signing players with known injury records. I'd rather have an average player on the park than a good player permanently on the treatment table. Monty's previous hammy injury record was known, as was Obika's.1 point
