  1. Very nearly voted for that one myself, to be fair -- all of the above, plus it was a winner against Celtic to boot (Even my wife picked it out as her favourite, and she knows nowt about fitba'!)

    Mccall

Don't disagree with any of that, but I suppose for the sake of argument, possible scenarios could include a) no other tempting offers on the table at the time, so better to have some job than no job; b) actual finances or other resources available for next season turning out to be even less than anticipated when re-signing; c) genuine attempt to help out a club he's developed some affinity for, by ensuring they'll get compensation when he moves on.
  3. Unfortunately, the stark reality these days is that most clubs who are in the market for the same standard of player as us just can't really afford to pay cash for anyone they can pick up for free at the end of the season.
  4. There was quite a bit of detail about this scheme in the brochure my dad got with his season ticket renewal stuff (guessing it was probably available at the open day as well?) Forget the details off-hand, but I think there were four levels ranging from £1k - £25k, with the same 9-instalment option that the rest of us have.
  5. For the answer to your first sentence, see your second sentence...
  6. Haven't decided yet, but I doubt I'll vote for Wee Higgy… would rather see it go to somebody who's capable of repeating what they did rather than a jammy once-in-a-career effort from somebody who's rarely featured in the team
  7. Birmingham have confirmed the deal will go through on 1st July, so indeed… no reason not play him against St Johnstone, and would arguably be unfair on Ross County if we didn't (not that they troubled him very much!)
  8. From the 'fishel site: http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2013/05/14/randolph-agrees-birmingham-deal/
  9. Ross County were well up for it yesterday for much the same reason, and didn't cause us too many problems in the end. That said, with their home advantage I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us drop points this time.
  10. First game I've been over to in a few years that we've actually won, so aye Might even be the first Faddy goal in claret and amber that I've witnessed first hand (couldn't swear to it though, I'm getting old), so that was a bonus!

    Ross County

Humph certainly caught the eye, but giving it to Hutch for being rock solid under some fairly persistent pressure at times.
  12. Almost my very words afterwards, the very epitome of winning without really trying too hard. If County had scored I suspect we'd probably just have scored again. Sign of a good team Hutch was top notch again too, and Hammy kept Sproule very quiet despite giving away quite a bit of pace.
  13. Got to be the strongest team selection for me. I don't see much point in giving those who will have to step up next year a bigger role today, it's not like they're going to get a useful run of games with the season finishing next week anyway. And they shouldn't need game time today to know whether they're in McCall's plans for next season, he should already have made them aware of that.
  14. Higdon is SPL Player of the Month for April

    New Away Kit

Not a massive fan of black kits (including the Skippy Sunday one), but this one seems fairly inoffensive.
  16. Ojamaa's probably been more consistent so far (though still not without his dips in form), so he'd get my vote even though his proclivity to falling over is a bit annoying -- then again, so was Dougie Arnott's when he first arrived, and he turned out not so bad.
  17. I couldn't care less whether he's an ex-Jambo, and he is (was?) a fine keeper, but AFAIK it's not even clear at the moment whether he'll be able to play competitive football again. Unless we're in the market for a goalkeeping coach as well and could offer him that role if it didn't work out, I'd say it's too big a punt for a club of our meagre resources.
  18. True, although I do always find the "I dont like it, it looks like a training kit" chat a bit odd. A decent design is still decent (and a crappy one is still crappy) whether it's on a training kit or a playing kit.
  19. You can get it on Sky throughout UK and Ireland, at least. (Doesn't help in this case, of course.) Other than dubious internet streams, the BBC website does stream Alba live here if you have access to a UK proxy. I've never quite figured out their streaming rights for fitba' though… some games it tells me they're not allowed to stream, other games it works fine.
  20. Can't entirely blame Puma, I'm sure the club have a big hand in choosing what colours to go with, if not which template as well.
  21. Call me a bit OCD, but I do like it when an away kit is the perfect inverse of the home kit
  22. Dunno, can't even remember where I heard that.. thought it was on here, but a search isn't immediately digging it up. EDIT: Oh, here you go -- was remembering it arse backwards, sorry Will be registered but not used, apparently.
  23. Yeah, I didn't really understand the thinking behind it, if it's true. I suppose we'd be "keeping" it in the sense you can still buy it from the shop!
  24. Yes, but it won't be registered with SFA (if I remember an earlier post right). So I guess it'll be for training and friendlies only next year.
  25. We did almost the same thing the following season (2nd top to 3rd bottom), so it's easy enough given the right managerial talent
