The Jens Berthel Askou Discussion Thread
FirParkCornerExile replied to Kmcalpin's topic in Club Chat
I've got a strange feeling it will be Billy Davies or Dougie Imrie , don't ask me why. -
If everyone had the luck Aberdeen have had to win this seasons cup we'd all have a few trophies in our lifetime 😂😂 Draw Elgin City Dunfermline Queens Park Hearts And the Celtic Keeper throws the ball in the net for them yesterday.
 -
We will just need to agree to disagree, I think it does, preparation for a new season doesn't just start in June. By the time we get someone in the door its likely to be mid June. He will know fuck all about the squad he inherited so has limited time to assess the options before he may need to head into the transfer market and the season starts in July. Our only saving grace is Dundee and Kilmarnock are in the same position.
 -
I couldn't give two fucks about him, he's an ex manager whose uproven whether he was any good in Scotland and has left us in the lurch.
 -
Correct. Generally in these situation The official line tends to be bollocks. We move on, to listen to some Motherwell fans you'd think he was some kind of messiah. The jury's out whether he was any good or not. We will never know. I'm more pissed about how it upsets our recruitment for next season which is a huge issue for us.
 -
Billy Davies was quick enough to say he was interested last time but didn't get it. I've got a feeling this could be his time. God help us.
 -
We need a decent transfer window more importantly and that's under some threat right now.
 -
Docherty is supposed to be a coach. 130 goals against in two seasons, what was he coaching?
 -
It must have been a daunting prospect trying to get a team in Scotland to play football.
 -
I had heard Imrie was in contention but Wimmer got it. They might go for him. Don't know how we'd get all the mattresses into Fir Park mind you. 😁
 -
Correct the same pish that's was hanging around footballing coaching and management roles 20 years ago are still in the game in some capacity today.
 -
That's how I feel, another summer window we should be building the team we are scratching around looking for a manager.

VAR in Scottish football - Share your views

Correct when it came in it was to ensure "clear and obvious" errors were corrected. If it takes them over 2 mins to arrive at a decision its not clear and obvious. -

If we bin VAR we will have 20 errors in a game called wrong rather than 2 or 3. Whether folk like it or not VAR enables the correct decision to be called in 90% of occasions. However it takes far too long to arrive at the decisions. I would strictly enforce clear and obvious error. If a decision cant be called in 2 mins the onfield decision stands. Fans waiting 3/4/5/6 mins for a decision to be called is ridiculous. I would also adopt the English automated tech for offside decisions rather than the cheapo version we have in Scotland. In England they just do not have the carry on we have looking at offside goals. -
Late 70s and early 80s our strip was more Lemon than Amber. The Adidas strip we wore when we ran away with the 1st division title was popular at the time but looking back it was actually quite hideous.

Kilmarnock home attendance v the OF are almost identical to ours so they didn't boost their average attendance any more than ours. St Johnstone home attendances v the OF were less than ours.

It happened last year , it pretty seamless. My google wallet updated with my new season ticket and would expect it to be seamless again next year. However I do agree the wording about the digital option could be clearer.

I have to admit I was no fan of Slattery before his injury. I thought he spent most of his time on his arse involved in petty needless fouling adding nothing to our midfield. Since he has come back in from injury his focus seems to be more on how he plays than fouling opponents to stop them playing. Whether this was tactical under SK or not I don't know but for me there's a definite change in style of play from Slattery and he's been worth watching since his return.

At the game I genuinely thought we were very pedestrian for 75 mins. However when I rewatched the highlights we were probably better than I gave them credit for. Maybe I'm getting bored with football. 🫣
 -
I thought we were pedestrian and pretty clueless for 75 mins and turned it around in the last 15. Maybe I'm hard to please but some of the great performance quotes leave me baffled.
 -
It's behind a pay wall , who the fuck pays a subscription to that rag.
 -
I know I shouldn't say this as a supporter but I really couldn't give a flying fuck about this game. I'm fed up watching utter pish and the same ineptitude from the same squad of players. Every week's it's pretty much rinse and repeat with the occasional rise above mediocre crap. I just want this season ended.
 -
A 61 year old who looks 80, he's had a hard paper round.
 -
You and I definitely watch different games. At no point today did I think we played the better football. We played virtually no football. Although Hearts were pish they were better than us. I lost count today how many times , when under zero pressure we passed the ball straight to a Hearts player. We picked up no second balls and the less said about our defending the better. We were garbage from first ball to last. I'm afraid if MW thinks he only needs 3 or 4 players he is in for a rude awakening.

Tynecastle is never easy, even in the best of our times.... Hopefully they wont have new manager in place before we play them. They have been rotten for weeks but I think a win would be a long shot but not impossible. Would take a draw now if offered.
