Dundee proved a couple of years ago that when teams have their backs to the wall and feel that they have a point to prove that they gel better, are prepared to fight more and the players and fans come together to become better and become than what should be expected - any thoughts of hearts being fav for relegation and that we are safe is in my opinion foolish thinking.

If the price was right then I'd be happy for Hutch to leave before he leaves for now't next summer - ideally he would sign an extension and there would be no need to worry.
-
I don't see why folk are worried that we've not signed many new players yet. In my view part of the reason for this is to save cash - the longer we hold off the more we save which will be used to pay the office staff over the summer (if we're saving around £6000 per week that should be enough to cover the wages). I'm sure that both the club and SMcC are well aware of what they need to do before the start of the next season and will be doing everything they can to ensure we are ready.

Sad news, a good player who always gave his all. RIP Peter.
-
To be fair not only did the club - or more so their advisors - not notice the mistake when setting the society up but neither did any of the members when they joined up - surly someone took the time to read the info.

"Ridiculous I know, but just glad to have someone on board as the start of the re-building begins" Does Paul Lawson not count?
-
Typical Celtic attitude to Faddy - if we can't get anyone better we'll take so just hang about for us, if he moves to them then best of luck to him but I hope he gets an offer from someone else first and takes it.

£400,000 plus add ons would be a better starting point.

I'm having the same problems using an iPad also so don't know if the problems with the site or the iPad software - I get similar problems on other forums.

Just seen on the euro thread that Lech Poznan are one of the seeded teams we could be up against - what's the chances of selling him and then drawing them.
-
I think the club should sit down with Ojamma and see if he's happy to sign an extension to his contract, if he's not then we should look at cashing in now before his value decreases.
-
I doubt that many members make use of any of the perks. As far as I know the free MFCTV for a year was more to do with promoting the new channel with hope that after a year folk would then opt to start paying for the service making it a viable money making resource for the club - giving it away for free to anyone defeats the purpose.

Soapy, I agree with your comments but at the start you state that he applied for the Utd job, my understanding is that they approached Motherwell who then allowed him to talk with Utd. As far as I know the only thing SMcC has done is go have a chat, which given that the club were willing to let him go, is no great deal.
-
Lobby, it might be me who's got it wrong but I was under the impression that he was away with the Motherwell players on an end of season holiday and that he didn't cut it short.
-
HOTD for this now we know SMcC is staying.
-
We dont know if he also talked to our directors after talking to Utd. Maybe he's played a blinder and managed to squeeze a little more money for his budget from the club by deciding to stay. Doubt it but you never know.

Let me win the euro on Tuesday and I'll see what I can do
-
Shit, I. Was sure it was Barbie dolls but now you say it, it makes sense - how could I have got it so fuckin' wrong
-
Just because he doesn't fit into the type of guy you'd like to go for a pint with doesn't mean he's a tosser. As a footballer at Motherwell he's always tried his best, never criticised/disrupted the team or slagged off the supporters and as far as I know never acted big headed, so I'd be happy to see him stay and if he does go then best of luck to him - no matter if its to rangers. Too many folk on here over the last couple of days have talked down the achievements of last seasons employees -and let's face it, that's what they all are- but why do folk feel the need to start dumping on them when it looks like they may become or have become ex employees?
-
Sorry mate but link not working and I can't see the report on sky website - has he changed his mind or have sky ran the wrong story by mistake?
-
I think you're being a bit unfair laying the blame - if their is any blame- at the managers feet. Yes he would have argued to keep the squad but the board - and supporters - also backed him. It may have been a gamble that didn't pay off but most will agree that it was the correct decision. As far as I'm aware no great offers were made for player who are now out of contract, the club offered them all new contracts which they've decided not to accept or are still considering, so I don't really see what could have been done differently.

One thing I find striking throughout this thread is that no one has said anything bad about McCall or not wished him well if he does move on. Considering that some were up in arms at his appointment, I feel this shows that the guy has a certain class that many wouldn't have associated with him prior to his arrival at Motherwell.
-
Maybe he didnt fancy a move to Sheffield and thought oh fuck I better sign for any team before McCall persuades me to go to Sheffield!
-
Thanks for the memories Nicky but I fear that you will now join a long list of ex players who left MFC only to see their careers go downhill. You could have done so much better
-
This and also the fact that he's not went to newco. If indeed he takes this offer then best of luck Stuart, thanks for the memories, the comp. we will get and if you come back looking for players bring a big cheque because with the comp money we might not need to sell cheap.
