  1. We've had the whole wasn't given a chance / wasn't good enough debate but what I would find amazing is if a club being relegated to the conference gets that sort of money for a player.
  2. There will be plenty of seats available. Probably some in our end but definitely loads in the home stand.
  3. Hughes' motivation seems to have let him down recently. He took over at Raith to try to steer them to safety with a massive gap over St. Mirren. A few months later the gap has gone and they're in the play-offs, including a 5-0 defeat at St. Mirren. No thanks.
  4. QoS finish their season this weekend. Does that mean Thomas is available to play in our remaining games?
  5. Dom Thomas came on as a sub in that game. Don't know if that means his form has dipped or not though.
  6. Are they likely to have Van Der Weg at left back? Cadden has absolutely destroyed him in games this season. We need to play him wide midfield, play to our strengths and get someone else to play right back.
  7. Don't remember that name at all. When did he play?
  8. That article has Moult linked with Rangers on the basis of bookie's odds. It also has him 'jabbing' home his goal in the recent draw and us playing in 'tan'. Completely thrown together article.
  9. We had some right dross in those days but Davie is probably remembered because he had quite a long run in the team . Although he was guff we probably didn't have anyone better! Did he come from Clydebank and then return to the lower divisions?
  10. Celtic supporter at my work couldn't believe they won that appeal. I've seen challenges like that receive a yellow or a red card but I didn't think they had a chance with the appeal as there were reasons to justify it as a red, particularly after the explanation following McDonalds's appeal.
  11. You might well be right - I'll blame my dad. I think the work he was doing was fairly minor and he may well have been just doing a spot of general handy-man stuff. Anyway, my point that he was a decent guy still stands.
  12. He's working as an electrician now. My dad met him and said he was a really nice guy. It shows the difference in money now - a player of his level should be pretty much made for life nowadays (doesn't mean they won't blow it all through some addiction though).
  13. Yeah, there is a common perception that the standard of football is much worse than it used to be which I'm not convinced is correct. Yes, our current team is very poor when compared with some of our better teams in the past (late McLean era for example) but I don't think they're any worse than some of our teams from the past in a similar position fighting it out at the bottom of the league. Some of the old highlights are truly grim watching.
  14. Brian Wright was alright, lacking in pace but always looking to play a pass. McLean was trying to build a team in those days and we had a good few worse than him. I've mentioned him before but I'll put forward Jamie Doyle, another midfielderfrom a similar time.
  15. I didn't make the game but as Hammell is left footed that is always likely to happen unless he kicks straight through the ball or plays it with the outside of his foot. He's always tended to curl it round with his left foot though.
  16. Or Martin McBride? McLean era winger.
  17. I thought Pearson had looked a bit better against Accies but his performance at Thistle was woeful. He capped it off at one point when Clay had the ball but had nowhere to pass it as Pearson was in front of him but with his back to play.
  18. That's quite a result and a turnaround in for them from being absolutely stranded.
  19. That doesn't mean we should be happy with Accies getting the advantage of playing on that pitch.
  20. The luck Accies have had in beating Aberdeen and St Johnstone has been unbelievable. We've not really managed to pull off a complete robbery of a win this season but could really do with one.
  21. Similar logic but I'm applying it to Bowman and can't give him MOTM because of the chance he missed from the rebound with the keeper on the ground. That's just as important as any of Samson's mistakes in previous games.
  22. Local game for me and I've been invited to hospitality. Lost in very disappointing fashion the last few times I've been there so not particularly looking forward to it or expecting much.

    Rangers Motm

Obviously more people have now voted and the winner appears to be. ........ Null Votes followed by Skippy.
  24. I'm obviously a bit younger as it's the Skol Cup semi - final defeat on penalties that does it for me. Nowadays, if I'm not at the game I don't get too worked up.
