If he ends up at St Mirren, the only thing he’ll be kicking is other players’ legs.

When Chris Cadden was co-commentating on an MFC TV stream he said he was sure Al kept a notebook with the names of players who took the ball off him, so he could kick them later.

For me Dave hes either been injured or asking for too much money, the cash on offer up here is a fraction of what he had in England.

He’s also been absolutely appalling since leaving Luton. I think his confidence went completely when they dumped him after he’d did so well for them in the championship. Millwall, Charlton and Utd fans have all made comments about him being their worst ever signing.

the money is crazy there too. It’s quite a drop going from £25k a week down there to £2k a week up here.

Which begs the question, is it really him that has struggled to find a club? He will have been on a better wage in England, so fairly comfortably well off now if he was sensible with his income. He could drop his wage demands to, say, £5k a week if he wanted to or if his agent allowed him to.

I see the sun reporting that Faddy has fallen on hard times and has been made bankrupt.

Seems to have been screwed over by one of those tax deductible investments that HMRC later ruled illegal.

I have some sympathy, but those schemes can often land you in hot water.

No sympathy at all. When it comes to paying tax, when you are told about a deal and a way to cut your tax bill that sounds too good to be true….. then it’s too good to be true.

these guys have earned millions, just pay what you are meant to pay and you’ll still have millions. Dont try and join ridiculous film schemes or forestry schemes.
Crazy behaviour when in general most of these footballers are financially illiterate.

he’s also not paying any of the money back as he’s bankrupt. He’s saying he has no assets so it’s clear he’s put everything in his wife’s name to get away with not paying back a penny. That’s really tax evasion not avoidance. He’s lucky.

Anyway I’ll come off my tax soap box

Always find it mental how people who are very wealthy compared to the average can end up bankrupt.

A lot of cowboys out in the financial advisory and investment space.

Going bankrupt after transferring assets should be outlawed. He will pay a pittance of his future income for a few years and that will be that. Meanwhile taxes increase to pay for basic services as tax revenue has decreased and costs keep going up.

Aye, far too many ways to avoid it.

Was it Hong Kong that used to have a flat rate many years ago?

The idea was that there was a relatively low rate of tax, but everyone paid that same rate on everything. No exceptions, no avoidance schemes, big penalties if you tried to dodge it.

Helped make sure everyone paid a fair share, and was easy to collect.

Campbell signed with St Mirren until end of season

Brings a lot of useful relegation battle experience with him.

In his most recent interview he said:

---

He has had interest in Scotland, England and in Europe. It is now about considering those options and deciding what is right in helping him to achieve his goals.

“I think I'm obviously a free agent,” Campbell admitted.

“A lot of times I think it opens your eyes up to see what opportunities are out there.

“As I said, if something came up overseas and it was best for my career and it was a good opportunity, then I'd definitely consider it.

“I’ve had a few options in Scotland, England and in Europe.

---

Makes you wonder what those options were if he ended up in Paisley.

Good luck to him, though. Like all former players in the same league, I hope they always do well, and hope their team always finishes below us.

What is it they say?

Something like "If you owe the Bank 10 pounds they take you to court. If you owe the Bank 10 million pounds, they make you the CEO"
