I think the biggest thing this squad lacks is energy.

We dont have a lot of legs in the team, particularly in midfield, even with everyone fit.

Its good there are a lot out of contract at end of season as it will allow the new manager scope to carry out a rebuilding job (again).

I wouldnt be renewing Halliday or Davor. Paton would be okay as a squad player but not essential. Slattery will depend on his recovery and whether he is interested in staying. But if he returns to full fitness Id offer him something.

Id punt Robinson and Stuparevic.

Koutroumbis, I really have no idea as we have barely seen him play.

Totally agree with you it it also lacks leadership and quality.

I look at that roster of players available and think who is going to get out out the mud should we get in it and I see nothing.

Sod making mistakes left right and centre folk can say what they want but that's the facts we have all witnessed this and he is the team captain.

Kettlewells transfers when you step back and look at it has been a horror show that summer window was totally awful.Everyone bangs on about budget but I really don't think it was used properly Watt and Tavares should never have been brought in from a rival club freeing up there wage bill for such mediocre below average players Daws should be held accountable for that.

We can only hope the loan guys click together asap with a decent new manager to get us firing with new ideas for me of all the times we have been in a mess this squad actually gives me the worst vibes.

In addition Id be looking to move Blaney, Casey, SOD and Kaletta out. May give Kaletta a reprieve if he sorts himself out between now and the end of the season. The other three we've seen what they can do (or not do for that matter). Lain Gordons coats is on a shooglie peg too for me..

Kaletta is only on loan. Add to your list the likes of Koutroumbis, Callachan and Ebiye and we're cooking on gas. We only have about 13 or so players signed for next season with a few on option. I think we have the makings of a decent squad and any new manager coming in will have scope to make his own signings in the summer. The squad  as it stands, lacks pace, energy and leadership plus a bit of physicality.

you forgot ability..... I've still to be convinced we have the makings of a decent squad.

Will be interesting to see if the new gaffer can sort that out the defence or whether, as I suspect, Gordon is the only CB that is worth keeping.

That has been our biggest issue since SK took over.

Gordon did play really well and solid in the first round of game he looked really good. Since then we haven't had a regular line up n McGinn has been missing.

Yes that's 100% on the money. Kettlewell never managed to address this. A good team is built from a solid defence.

Hopefully the new manager is the type that can find the right balance between attacking and defending, kettlewell put far to much into us giving up possession then trying to defend our box and we were dreadful at it.its looking like it's going to be another big summer for us in terms of recruitment.

and more from the media made up pish department. Has anyone ever seen any of this kinda shite come to pass.

Given its Ben Banks reporting, I would presume Ketsbaia has indeed submitted an application. However, it could well be one of those applications to get your name in the papers to  highlight to other clubs that you are available.

Even if interested, not sure how comfortable Id be. Feels like the kind of appointment that would throw cash at players he knows that we might need to empty when it inevitably goes Pete Tong.

Of course he could just as easily win us the cup and become a club legend! (Not this season obviously).

I imagine a lot of these "applications" are from agents who submit them on behalf of their clients to every vacancy that opens up. And most of the time without having any clue about the club or its operating environment (or the salary on offer).

Correct and the media buy into the shite hook line and sinker.

I found out of the current 33 man squad only 12 have contracts for next season.

Aston Oxborough - 2027

Liam Gordon - 2026, Kofi Balmer- 2026, Johnny Koutrombis- 2026, Stephen O'Donnell- 2026, Ewan Wilson- 2027

Lennon Miller- 2026, Tom Sparrow - 2026, Sam Nicholson- 2026,

Twanda Maswanhise- 2026, Zach Robinson- 2026, Apostolos Stamatelopolous- 2027

2 of the guys out on loan have deals utill 2026

Dylan Wells and Fillip Stuparevic

So 14 under contract for next season and I'd probably be looking at moving 2/3 of them on as well.

Around 21 players leaving at end of season which we need to replace with half that amount of better quality players in my opinion

It does look like quite a bit of noise over Lyon and an £8m bid for Lennon?

that would be an incredible bit of business and a potentially brilliant move for the boy to a league where he will develop further.

if we could get a decent sell on clause, even better.

Yes, anything than Lennon signing for one of  the OF. If he has to go and it's not to Lyon, maybe Mr Wimmer could facilitate  a suitable German destination where he can play regularly and develop further.

How about one where he gets sent back here for another season to develop further under MW and his assistant?
If they’re rated as coaches by some teams in Germany and LM feels he would progress here under them then why not?

Certainly, if it were possible,  because if he were to go to Celtic I think he would be a bench warmer for a while  and I don't think David Turnbull's experience at CP was beneficial for his development.

With no game this week, The Rancid are just turning out daily stories about Miller going to Celtic

For me, that would just show a lack of ambition when there are so many great opportunities out there.

And even though I know it's all clickbait to sucker in the OF fans, it's still annoying that they think that's the best he can do.

Remember Caldwell said that the performance data shows Miller is the 8th best youngster in the world?

Do you think the 7th or 9th best are phoning Celtic for a transfer?

I'll be shocked, but in a pleasant way, if we reap anything like £10 m for young Miller. I think someone is at it, but not sure who. Still an auction can only benefit us and the lad himself. The more top class names mentioned the better. More choice for the lad and more cash for him and us.

I do think the 10m chat is a bit off, however, anything north of 4m would be a good bit of business and as you say, who knows where a bidding war could take us.

LM is clearly in demand and good on him!!!!!!
