Benson
Stop start game due in most instances to over physical and consistently fouling st mirren team, their big thug at the back put his team mate on a stretcher.first half we looked off the pace and lethargic for some reason and plange couldn't compete physically with their centre backs and hold the ball up,done well to come back into game, thanks slatts,a very astute football brain, knows how to play the game and a big player for us. weeyin
We never play well after a break - we're the kind of team that needs to be playing competitive games every week. Not unique in that by any means, but not totally surprised we were slow starters today. I also suspect that, as Wimmer said after the first game, the players were still thinking about their additional instructions rather than playing instinctively, and that leads to hesitation and errors. Robinson, however, continues to drag football into the 19th Century.

Jacovitti got booked for it and even Robinson thought it better to substitute him immediately.

twistandshout1983
I will gladly take the point after being 2-0 down against a very very dirty St Mirren team Still in with a good shout of the top
Ya Bezzer!
Poor to middling performance today depending on the period of the game. Not for the first time the opposition getting a player sent off seemed to help them rather than us. I posted at half time today so I won't repeat myself but if you are looking at the two Wimmer matches I've seen and looking for themes then the one that jumps out at me is our lack of creativity. I really can't remember the opposition goalkeeper today or against Dundee making a proper save which means we've been super efficient in taking our chances. That's fine when you are getting results in a couple of matches but longer term we really need to create more. Very little up front today. Looked like we were playing the same system of two midfields 'up front' and someone sitting deeper. Not sure how that is going to pan out over the longer period but it didn't work today. wellup83
Game played out exactly as I predicted with St Mirren determined to kick every Motherwell player that dare touch the ball. Oh the irony that it's them who ended up with a player stretchered off. We weren't great today. Our first touch and passing was all over the place at times and they were too physical for us in the final third. Still think overall we were worthy of a point despite Robinson's comments to the contrary.
robsterwood
Though O donnell poor . Could have cost us a few times and distribution lacking. Appeared to be operating below pace of match. St mirren very dirty team. Lucky to only get one red. Thought also Plange poor. Never did work rate or link up like Armstrong. Slattery good. Points ok after being 2 nil down.

Big Wispy Flossy
That was a level of thuggery from st mirren not seen at fir park since Robinson was in charge here. All it was missing was badass bowman up front elbowing defenders left right and centre
Welly Machine
Didn't quite click today especially when we needed to after they went down to 10. Still a point not a disaster after being 2 down. Thought the ref could have been on top of the persistent fouling better, maybe would have helped prevent people going off injured?
thewelllfan
This has to be our last season of SOD don't think i've ever seen a CB give the ball away so much. Few others were poor aswell. Thought Slattery and Gordon played well that's proably about it.
Orinoco
For a guy that's supposedly in the back three for his distribution, it shows how bad the others are at passing. Defensively he is a liability. Balmer ain't great, but given our last two results with him in the team, can feel hard done to be dropped for ODonnell.
Richie
Regarding O'Donnell, his decision-making is just very frustrating at times. There was one where rather than heading it back to keeper, or indeed any area of safety, he put it strainght to a St Mirren player in a dangerous area of the park. He wasn't terrible today, some good balls whipped to feet in midfield etc, but I guess its the danger awareness sometimes that frustrates me with him. Spiderpig
A great point today, considering we offered feck all up front, the two goals apart we had only 1 other decent chance. Some of our play was excellent it actually looked like we had a midfield today, but we are still giving the ball away to easily St Mirren are thugs, the dirtiest team I've seen at Fir park for years, plus the ref was useless how Gogic was never booked is a disgrace. I'm a bit disappointed that we did not press them higher in those last 15 mins and get the winner but from 2-0 down it was a great point. Mortonhallwell
I see we have a bounce game against St Mirren this week. We can't afford any more injuries so we will need to be extremely cautious against these hammer throwers.

When you play at pace you need to be able to control a quick ball which we failed to do all game. St Mirren bullied us all day and played the pressing game themselves (as well as being feckin dirty bastards). To be playing 10 men for 20 minutes and surrendering most of the possession in that 20 minutes was so frustrating. The players deserve credit for getting a point after being 2-0 down but does not disguise the fact we were poor in many areas.

Happy Dosser
31 minutes ago, wellgirl said: Robinson also suggested that some Motherwell fans were happy to see the player stretchered off. Said it twice in his post match interview. Really? Pretty bad to say that, given his side's cynical play throughout. There was a lot of concern from the home fans around me in the POD at the Munce injury, some of whom were critical of what they thought was a tardy response from the first aiders. Ironically, it looked to me that Psychovitti hurt his own player by taking out everyone in front of him on the touchline. He wouldn't have bullied Armstrong, that's for sure. The "Buddies" were the dirtiest I've seen at FP for a while and got away with too much early on from the referee. I wish they were closer to the relegation trap-door, frankly. If it's true we've got a bounce-game with them next week, I'd be concerned about further injuries. Anyone know what is the problem with Viking Armstrong? Faddyisgod
52 minutes ago, wellgirl said: Robinson also suggested that some Motherwell fans were happy to see the player stretchered off. Said it twice in his post match interview. That just isn’t true. I was sitting two rows behind the fan who he had an interaction with (Robinson and the fan both were giving each other stick throughout the game which was fair enough both ways to my eye). The fan made the point during the treatment break that this injury was all on Robinson and his encouragement of horrendous fouling tactics. Jacovides pushed Watt who fell into Slattery and bumped into the injured player. The fan never swore at Robinson in that exchange and never said anything derogatory about the injured player. Robinson then said something completely unrelated, along the lines of “hes being taken to hospital and that’s ok!?” And the fan said he’s only going to hospital because of your tactics. And that was it. nonsense and untruths need to be called out when it happens because as we have seen recently, these things quickly grow arms and legs and before you know where we are all sorts of lies are being written about us.
