I was also talking to a couple of people from the well society last week re Kettlewell. They had nothing but good things to say about him. They said that he was very involved with the community and he used to send players out to see fans who were unwell and who might never see another game again. They had nothing but good things to say about him. That he genuinely cared about the fan base and the wider community. 

They were genuinely sorry he was gone even if it might have been for the best in the long run. They spoke very highly of him and the way he conducted himself around the club. I get why people are sore at the way he left - but he's been rinsed all over social media when people who knew him were gutted that he left. 

It's just got really negative lately and right now there are people calling for Wimmer to be sacked elsewhere on social media. Because we aren't higher in the table. I personally can't understand that 

(I honestly can't be arsed right now. I've never seen it so negative and it's got nothing to do with Kettlewell, the fact that people are calling for Wimmers head less than three months in is a nonsense in my view) 

Astonishing in my opinion that any Well fan should be calling for Wimmer to be sacked

They are. Particularly on Facebook. Ranging from we haven't had a new manager bounce to he's rubbish - it seems to be a pattern to be fair - when we get beat the chants of he must go go up. 

Some comments as well as to how he doesn't know the Scottish game. I think some people don't quite get that his stats are actually decent and - there are also people blaming him for the fact that we didn't get top six. 

I get that it's been a disappointing season in a lot of respects but come on - he can only do so much with the players he has and we are safe from relegation - job done in my view. I hope we scud Killie and Ross County just to prove the detractors wrong.

You're right. It's fine when we win. When we don't Dougie Arnott has to be our manager - I just texted my brother to tell him that and his response was that he thought some people have had too much sun.

Facebook is for folk that have too much time on their hands. If it wasn't for Facebook most of those people would just be ignored and left alone in their bedrooms.

It's not just Facebook. The Internet in general is full of bile, vitriol and intolerance. That said  its also a force for good too. A double-edged sword if you will.

Getting paid at Scottish Premiership wage levels over a career probably still makes you richer than one big move at 18 and then disappearing into a big club youth system never to be seen again.  

The key is giving youth players first team opportunities and the chance to actually develop a professional career.

If we do that we will retain quality youth players, perhaps not all of them but some of them and maybe even most of them.

With increasing costs and dwindling support there is basically no long term future without youth development.  It should be central in our medium to long term planning at the club.

I've read every single comment on Motherwell FC's Facebook for the last week and not one single person has said this.

I mean some of the players don't fair well and there is grumbles - but there is no one calling for him to be sacked.

I think its one of the fan pages not the official...some of the stuff posted is actually wild....so many angry folk out there with their heads exploding

Yes they have. There have been comments about getting him out and getting Arnott or Naismith in. Someone who knows the Scottish game was the exact comment - and the comment is still there. 

I've no reason to make it up when it's on the page.

It was the official Facebook page but to be fair - there are a lot of posts on there and it's easy to miss something - but there were folk calling for Wimmer to go on Saturday and to bring Naismith in - or Arnott - which baffled me a bit as he's never managed a club. The comment was that he was out of his depth and someone who knows the Scottish game should be brought in 

Anyway. In Wimmer we trust

That's a take and a half 😆 Facebook is mental. People have been born and had kids of their own since Dougie last had any involvement in football, none of which involved coaching.

Reminds me of when Colin O'Neil was complaining about not being considered, because he thought we should be handing out jobs on vibes.

Yup you are correct. 

I changed from "relevant comments" to "all comments" and I can see what you are seeing.

Even Facebook must know irrelevant comments and keep it off my feed
