To have a squad of 20 and still feel short in so many positions (full back, midfield, up front) is a concern. Too many defenders that probably won't be first picks (Balmer, Koutroumbis, one of O'Donnell or McGinn), and too many players in other areas that we almost don't count as options because they have contributed so little for various reasons (Nicholson, Stuperavic are the obvious ones). Basically my thoughts are that while 20 isn't a huge squad, it feels unbalanced and it still to me feels that there are too many players who may not contribute a lot over the season... Yeah hadn't included Ross or Wells in that number but if you do it's 20 + the 3 I think will get offered deals that's 23. Not leaving much room to bring in players initially. Can actually see Luca Ross getting used as a Wing Back in this formation and Wells might get minutes in the 2 positions behind the striker in the current formation. As I've said earlier on this I'd be trying to shift Koutrombis, SOD, Nicholson, Stuperavic and obviously we'll sell Miller for a decent fee. We need to add pace and power to our squad in all areas to play at the intensity the manager wants. This summer we probably need to look at adding 7/8 Players for me: 2 CBs, a LWB, 2 CMs , 2 Forwards

fizoxy
I don't think the pre contracts are strong enough to need any clauses, they've been broken before. Ketsbaias agent is really putting in the work.

Kmcalpin
A suggestion, no more, on P & B that Davor is leaving us. If true, that would be no surprise. Dundee Courier quote "McGhee was one of eight players offered a contract extension last autumn but is expected to join Motherwell at the end of his deal." Ya Bezzer!
I noticed there is a footballer called Liam Motherwell who is currently without club. Come on, give him a contract!

mio
I’ve never been a “bring him back” type of supporter but with Allan Campbell being released from Utd I can’t help but think we might get the best out of him again? I just look at the types of players we have in that position already, Davor etc and think it’d be an upgrade. I have to be honest tho and say he’s been pretty poor in that last year with Millwall and Utd. Maybe not for the best but who knows.

He had a kind of off season with us before he left and you'd still kind of feel he was still better than a lot of the guys we've had there.....or at least not worse but with more potential. Might not be possible due to wages and he might not want to come back here at this stage in his career but I'd be inclined to take the risk if it was possible. Of course you'd need to sit down and work out what kind of shape you want and where he fits in and that's where the manager would come in. wellsince75
Bring him home , can’t see Halliday lasting the full season . Having Campbell back would give us a bit more steel
Spit_It_Out
Wee Al comes back then we mean business!Be a different player if he came back to us if he or his agent had any sense they would be banging our door take a wage cut and be where he is appreciated and loved. Still young enough to have a good few years with us and get a decent move it he wants to move. Halliday,Slattery and Campbell offt that's a midfield to get ma baws rattling! Yabba's Turd
1 hour ago, Mad Dog said: Can't read it, so could you copy and paste the article please? Jordan McGhee says “all good things must come to an end” after he said his goodbyes to Dundee FC. The 28-year-old spent six years at Dens Park and played under four managers, winning promotion twice. The former Hearts and Falkirk defender played 197 times for the Dark Blues, scoring 21 goals. McGhee was Dundee’s Players’ Player of the Year in his debut season for the club and this term won the Goal of the Season award for a fine strike at Dundee United. He played a key role in the 2020/21 promotion through the play-offs after being transformed into an effective box-to-box midfielder, scoring three goals across the semi-final and final. And in the past two Premiership seasons he has notched 10 goals for Dundee, including a double in the 4-2 win at Tannadice in March. ‘Rollercoaster’ The versatile defender is expected to join Motherwell this summer. “All good things must come to an end,” McGhee said. “I feel the time has come to move on and face a fresh challenge in my career. “It’s been a rollercoaster since I joined almost six years ago and what a journey it’s been together. “Thank you to all my teammates over the years, managers, the amazing staff behind the scenes and the fans for your continued support through the highs and lows. “We’ve shared some amazing memories together. Ones that I’ll never forget.”
