wellsince75
Im really concerned with the change of signing strategy 😉. Whatever happened to signing aging players or those with a history of injuries ? Whats going to happen to our poor physios this season ? In all seriousness , overall ticks a lot of boxes . next step please bring back Alan Campbell . Could do with a bit of steel in the middle of the team .

Unusual for club to put out a video that doesn't show you about 5 clips of Section E
thewelllfan
From looking around Watt seems like a creative midfield player with an eye for a pass. From reading reactions his main drawbacks is he gives away cheap fouls round the box and he was arguing with the fans when he was the captain at Burton. Majority of St Johnstone fans seem to think he's a decent player for what it's worth
fizoxy
He has a good amount of first team games for his age and captained Burton Albion for most of his time there, so has some leadership qualities. Looks like a decent signing to me.

Never really made any impact on me when Ive seen Saints (if he even played against us). Will need to wait and see what the Saints fans over on P&B think. Although they did say Bair was shite so...... Scored against us in the 3-2 game in April.

Looked like a handful for defenders.

I know to some folk just now it’s old fashioned football and they are not “in style” but for the purpose of entertainment and getting to the bye line and whipping a cross in….. give me wingers all day long. I agree and there is still hope. A good few teams around the globe ...and top teams at that....often line up 4-3-3. I think it just comes down to whether you have a Manager who wants to win more than he wants to avoid losing. And it appears our new man is fairly attack minded given the right blend of players. The opposite of Kettlewell in other words. I guess Killie will switch from 4-3-3 to 3-5-1-1 or 4-5-1 this season. Their fans will love it. Hearts on the other hand might be looking at 4-3-3.

Lionel are better player than the other two IMO Just a shame he didnt always turn up Lionels ability coupled with Humphreys attitude would make some footballer

FirParkCornerExile
I could have sworn we had Seddon on longer than a one year deal, oh well fuck goes that idea of getting cash.

We never got value for money from him last year at all he was injured more times than not. Hopefully we are moving away from this type and signing generally fit players. Spit_It_Out
i really dont get this obsession folk have with players that really didnt do much with us that are so easily replaced. i shall say this i shall remember Seddon for his media shorts than what he served up on the pitch so that itself says it all.

robsterwood
Burton fans mixed reports about Elliot Watt. Most think he's skillful passer but lacks pace. Some express view that if he gets fitter and looses weight there is potential good player there. do very well in the right setting. Yes, I'm saying that in my piece as well... wrong time and place... and wrong to have been given the armband. But a talented and committed player who may still do well

But a talented and committed player who may still do well Good luck to him and he'll get my full support. However he didn't seem to set the heather on fire whilst at Perth, in an admittedly poor team and I'm curious as to who signed him for us. He obviously wasn't on a PCA and I doubt if JBA knew anything about him. He could be another Theo Bair of course, who was mismanaged by Simo. St Johnstone fans seem to think he has talent but weren't overly bothered when he left. I'm not in any great rush to bring in extra bodies for the sake of it, but we do need another out and out striker before the League Cup group stages. As it is we only have Ap Stam, with 1 other out injured long term. I wouldn't think it right to give him 90 minutes in all the pre season bounce games given his injury record. If he does get injured what then? No doubt, JBA is aware of this serious short term deficiency in the squad and will possibly have brought in trialists to be assessed whilst in training camp. Agree, he's not our managers signing. Yes will support him too. Sounds improvement on Davor and Paton though hurts out. Was hoping he has contacts in Denmark that could do well. I'm also concerned that we are recruiting from relegated team and Dundee player from team with worst defensive record in league. Also think O'Donnell should have been given terms and let go. Agree badly need striker and hope this time, it's one from our manager.

The other alleged striker is Robinson who for me is brutal so I think we need another striker in ASAP and move Robinson on when's hes fit

Very true, although he sounds more like a replacement, type wise, for Lennon Miller i.e. a deep lying playmaker. .
