I hated myself for doing it, but I went on the site and read the story. No quotes from Rangers, none from us and a vague story about how Danny Rohl is 'aware of Elliot Watt'. He's a fucking manager in our league. I would expect he'd be aware of most players in the league. Looks like a column inches filling, h*n pandering made up story to me. The only surprise is that it didn't come out the day before we played them.

Probably Oprah mcgregor that started the story, look out for another YouTube exclusive with Kettlewell day before Ross Co game

That clown of a journo wouldn't have heard of him before the Celtic game. Mcgarry needs to have a word in the ear of his colleague.

According to the Sun, Sevco is interested in Eliott Watt. Given our financial health and length of his deal, I can't see us accepting any bid in this window unless its a huge offer, which is very unlikely.  He's more likely to attract wider interest in the summer.

If he fancies an insta-loan to Sheffield Wednesday, it could be a good move for him.

The only players we should actively be trying to sell/move on are those not in JBA’s plans and anyone out of contract in the summer that we have adequate cover for.
All other player should only be sold if the price is too good to pass up and a replacement can be found.

I don’t think we should be selling any of our players (that we would prefer to keep) To any other SPFL teams at any time if we can possibly avoid it.  Having said that, if rumor of Welsh deal is true, then perhaps that maybe to our advantage, although I’d rather that was a deal to be enacted at end of season.

Selling TJ to bring in Welsh is utterly mental talk.Welsh type players are ten a penny but goalscorers are not and that's what read on here from a fair few posters about goalscorers.

Crazy talk unless the money is ridiculous and I mean ridiculous.

It was a a bit of unsubstantiated online pish so lets not get carried away, a good rumour about incoming strikers etc is what we need.

Could you name 5 of those 10 that we can bring in?

Off the top of my head I can't tell you but I bet a lot of the bigger clubs down south have took note of how we play and be willing to send someone up to gain first team experience.

Easier to replace a defender than your only guaranteed to get goals goalscorer thats for sure.

Celtic and Rangers being pumped in Europe - “Scottish league isn’t strong enough” “no competition in the SPL so it effects us in europe”

they get competition in the form of Hearts and us and then it’s a case of trying to plunder our players (Barga, TJ, Just, Watt etc)so they don’t get any more domestic competition

fkn horrible clubs, horrible fans…. Utter parasites.

I wouldnt be too worried about the Watt to Rangers story. They've already indicated they need to move other players on to free up money for Röhl so I dont see them being willing to pay what we would ve looking for to let him go this window.

I also wouldnt be selling Maswanhise this window unless it was utterly stupid money. We really need his goals.

I like the sound of a big Norwegian striker that batters people though! Much more exciting than Hale or Nisbet rumours!

Watt has been really good for us, zero arguament there. He wasnt really that good last year at St J. How much of the improvement is solely due to shape & instruction - obviously coupled with the lads dedication.

If he was to go he would be a loss no doubt but im confident the gaffer can mould another midfielder into the system. With Slattery, Just, Priestman & Said we would still have a good base.

Hope he sees the season out right enough

Exactly. They don’t necessarily want our players to improve their team, just to weaken the competition. The club needs to hold firm and not sell our best assets to teams in the same league.
well also being doing our players a favor by selling to teams where they can make just as much money amd flourish better than they would at either of the arses.
Don’t think we should ever be selling players in January window,  that we deem as important first team players

edit: I hope all the media rumor mungering doesn’t play with their minds. Players (any that we really want to keep) and their agents should be told that no one is leaving in January. We will review their situations at the end of the season.

This is exactly it I’m afraid. It’s one of the reasons they do it, I’m sure of it. It causes issues and puts doubts in players and their team mates minds.
There’s definitely something with JBA that I get from him that he really does not give a fk about any opposition right enough and I hope he drums that into our players. Clearly he’s already doing this with their performances so the January window will be interesting

What sort of value would we put on TJ?

A couple of days ago I had an article from a South African football site appear on Facebook regarding TJ and bemoaning the fact that he didn't get picked up by Kaiser Chiefs when he left Leicester. Now that he is near top scorer in the Scottish Premiership and having briefly shone at the African Cup of Nations, they reckon he is valued well beyond their budget with a price tag of between 5 and 6 million.

Seemed unrealistic to me but if that is what others are thinking....
