While I’d be gutted to lose a lot of our players, everyone is replaceable, and with a top-quality manager in place, I’ve no doubt he’d find the right replacements to fit his system and style of play.

I know this is the reality for a club like ours.

But it would be nice, just once, to be able to keep a group together and build something special.

I think this manager and this group of players are capable of winning something, particularly if the gaffer got 2 or 3 windows to do it.

The good thing right now is our relatively strong financial position will allow us to see off any lowball offers for our better players.

So we shouldnt be losing too many bodies, if any, this month.

Yeah, we’re in a strong enough financial position and on an upward trajectory that we don’t need to accept any of the usual pathetic offers from rival clubs, especially when most of our best assets are on good long-term deals anyway.

Something that if it had been suggested even 6 months ago - would have been met with derision.........................and that would just have been from me 😄

Agreed.

The thought of renewing both SODs and McGinn last year seemed mental. Especially after McGinns injury problems.

Both of them have been outstanding this season and contribute so much both on and off the park.

Who woulda thunk asking footballers to play football would have had such success!

A lots been made of Mcginn's injury. In fairness, he's had one long term injury and then an unfortunate reoccurrence. Probably due to a premature return. Both well worthy of extensions in my view.

What sort of value would we put on TJ?

A couple of days ago I had an article from a South African football site appear on Facebook regarding TJ and bemoaning the fact that he didn't get picked up by Kaiser Chiefs when he left Leicester. Now that he is near top scorer in the Scottish Premiership and having briefly shone at the African Cup of Nations, they reckon he is valued well beyond their budget with a price tag of between 5 and 6 million.

Seemed unrealistic to me but if that is what others are thinking....

Am feeling a wee but sorry for the Kaiser Chiefs and it’s not all about the money for me so I’d accept £4M. ;)

I hear sevco are looking at Watt.

Bullshit story in the sun from a few days ago. No quotes from either club and a vague paragraph about how 'Danny Rohl is aware of Elliot Watt'

Oh absolutely.

With hindsight and a new Sports Scientist who actually monitors load management, its maybe no surprise that our injury problems seem to have diminished.

At the time of issuing the new contracts though, it still seemed a risk....

I'm one of the ones who was a critic and I've got to say , justifiably , he was there when about 4 bosses got their jotters BUT  he has been a revelation recently.  Looks faster too.Well done SOD,  turned me round.

I think Ap Stam's tea is out. I like him so I feel a bit bad for him.
An old man ( a random person I got talking to) told me Hendry is done for the season. Who knows how true it is or where he heard it but that would indicate we need another no9 at least.

Feels harsh bringing in a LB but I think it would be wise.

Sell no cunt. (for less than £3m)
