AP has a scoring rate of around 1 goal every 3 games for Motherwell. More than reasonable.

Hendry is currently sitting on something like 1 every 16.

It's pretty clear which is better.

I like Stama but feel better in a front 2 which ain't going to happen

He's absolutely class. We love technically gifted players.
He could win us a trophy.

He’s 36 and probably looking for way more than we can pay him. He’s on 7K a week and turned down offers of around 20K a week from Milwall and Middlesbrough. Plus we Would have to pay a transfer fee to get him from a club who really don’t want to sell him. So I  not sure why he would be linked to Motherwell. .

I agree with the wages/transfer fee part no doubt and I don't think it will happen at all.
But would I have him - undoubtedly

True, but how many of those goals are from open play?

I agree, but you never know he just might want to return home to Lanarkshire and given what he has contributed to SW they might do him and therefore us a good turn

Even at his age, he looks fitter, more mobile and technically better than players 10 years younger. As a short term addition and if available on decent terms I think he would be a good addition.

Hopefully wrong, but I expect one of our regular midfielders to  move on this window.

This season only 2, last season probably all of them? If he'd scored some of the chances he should have this season he'd almost be sitting on a goal every other game, which would be incredible for a Motherwell player, but then we'd probably not have Maswanhise sitting on 12 either.

Last season he racked up the numbers despite spending half the year injured and the other half chasing lost cause long balls with no other Motherwell players within 40 yards of him.

Are you sure about those figures. He's played 43 games for us and scored 12 goals 5 of which are penalties. So his scoring rate from open play is 7 goals from 43 games. I grant you still better than Hendry mind you hendry has only played 15 games. Fact remains neither are worth keeping.

Not good enough, taking into account the pens, his open play record and the number of games he has played for us his are stats are shite.

He's been a waste of good money.

The frustrating thing for Stama is he was bought by a manager to play a particular style and that manager then played him up top by himself rendering him impotent.

He now has a manager who plays a possession based low risk game, again rendering him impotent.

He would actually be a perfect fit for St Mirren alongside one of their giants.

The amount of thru balls and crosses a Robbo team puts in the box would have his numbers looking pretty good.

Regardless. Its clear Jens isnt for changing (neither should he) and a striker that fits our current style will be incoming.

The thing is with AP he has missed a ton of proper goal scoring opportunities like sitters by the barrell load so he isn't doing what he is been hired too do so needs to be replaced.Didnt  really fit in with Kettlewell isolation hoofball and doesn't fit in with JBA style so no option but to part ways.

Hendry and I hate to say this is utterly useless I still haven't seen anything from him on what he actually offers I actually want to know why he was brought in the first place failing to see how he fits in with the way we play.

Hopefully whoever comes in can contribute a wee bit more then we shall win the league by April!

Up the Well!
