You could see he was fuming…. Shaking his head as he ran off. I feel for the lad as he has been Actively trying to leave, going to Belgium last year and then coming to us.

anyway it does look like Blantyre Celtic are through to the next round now 2-0….. wow

I hope we can get a deal for him. His attitude been first class and clearly loves the place.  We signed kelly from qpr when he was on big wage so surely can work something out

Knowing them they will want cash and JT. They are the Trump of scottish football.

Lets not forget all the times they have screwed us over.

I hope Welsh comes back, but only on our terms. After all we are developing one of their players so they can sell at a big fee.

It looks like Celtic (not Welsh) have knocked back a few bids for him over several years so I’m not really sure what the their position is with him. They could save themselves about 780000 pounds by letting him go now instead of keeping him till end of contract or Let him play with us for remainder of season amd then actually sell him for some good money, saving part of his wages from this season plus last season of his contract. If they clearly don’t want him they should cut their losses.

Celtic and Rangers both with home ties so we will 100% be one of the tv games.

Hopefully Friday night on the BBC.

Or maybe the Sat night game.

Dont want Sunday afternoon.

You’ve got to feel for Welsh. That mob are a disgrace. Rotten to the core.

I don't buy the 'deliberately cup tie him' angle. Unless we were planning on buying Welsh, he couldn't have played for us against Celtic anyway. Playing him today shows he wasn't brought back with the intention of flogging him to anyone else in January, and subbing him proves he has no future at Parkhead.

That suggests O'Neill brought him back as a fuck you to the board, or a fuck you to Welsh. No idea what he could have against the player, so my money would be on the first - but that still results in the second.

With regard to the Welsh situation, I think it is probable that a few people are overthinking the whole thing. Celtic are simply doing what they consider is best for them. They are in no way trying to screw us over. They don't care. The same goes for the player and his future.

As such, I think it would be wise for us to act in a similar manner and ask ourselves what would be the best course of action in this situation for ourselves?

If we can get Welsh back to Fir Park on the same terms as before, for the rest of the season then great. He has been an excellent player for us and there is no reason to think that will change.

If they are thinking about making a move for JT and using Welsh as a bargaining chip then they can take a hike. Selling our prized assets to anyone in our league is generally a poor move as it, quite rightly, upsets our own fans and they will be offering less than we can get elsewhere if we really feel the need to sell.
