It's fine margins. I thinks he kept Kilmarnock busy. Just needs a break I think. For me, it just looks like AP is missing that X factor. Every shot of his seems to be blocked, easily pushed off the ball, always struggling to keep hold of it. Lack of pace and strength. I think he might be out of his depth, and I think he knows it too. Hendry, from what I've seen, looks like he does have a bit of confidence, pace and strength. If he gets a bit of momentum going, he could be the missing piece of the front line jigsaw. We could have had 6 points from last 2 games if he didn't make the errors and be near top of league. i would say the only reason Ward is getting more stick than Kelly is because we now know what Ox can do

Hope so with Hendry. Maybe Stama is more a penalty box striker. Yes he don't have pace of Taiwando but he's not slow either. I think Stama is doing better holding up the ball and linking up play. Looks like we gonna get more goals from midfield this year.

ropy
Stamatalopolous was involved in both goals on Saturday. I’d like to see Hendry get a game through the middle for comparison purposes. We’ve scored a few goals this season, that is not where the concerns have been.

The guys a good player and no where near out of his depth ffs he was capped for Australia last year and then spent most of the season out injured.

Looked to me like he was heavily involved in both goals v Killie. He was in the right position then so an obvious improvement and a decent contribution. Given his price tag he certainly needs to score more. But if others are scoring off his work then that helps. Only Hearts have scored more league goals than us up to now. I think he deserves a bit longer before he is deemed a failure. We have had other strikers who were not prolific goal scorers but contributed. Bowman springs to mind. He had a poor goals return. The rest of the team made up for his lack of goals and so far that is what we are seeing with Stamatelopoulos. But could he do better? Yes. Stama, by contrast, was signed to be that number 9 himself, so the expectations are different. Comparing him directly with Bowman doesn’t really hold up. Stama’s had over a year now, which is more than enough time to have shown more than he has.

He has not had a full year on the pitch. And on top of that the entire team is learning a new system under a new Manager with numerous new players being introduced.. My point re Bowman was that he played his full part in the team scoring. As has and is Stama. Although I accept Stama is looked upon by us fans as the main striker. But is he? Maybe Maswanhise is looked upon as the main goal threat. Could Stama do better? Of course he could. So could everybody else in the team.

robsterwood
Barry McKay is a free agent. May be good option if he stays fit.
MelvinBragg
Unless there's a free agent that can play left back, I wouldn't be rushing into the free agent market unless there's a player significantly better than what we have. The two mentioned are wingers. Given we have Said, Maswanhise, Just, Charles-Cook and Luca Ross all vying for two wing spots, I don't imagine it's a priority.. MelvinBragg
Not sure whether this belongs in Former Players or here given the article suggests we're also in for him. I half suspect it's lazy journalism to throw our name in there... https://www.sportsboom.co.uk/football/exclusive-aberdeen-chasing-allan-campbell
