Funny old game, right! I thought AP was very poor yesterday.

I watched him quite a bit at the game yesterday as I have been quite critical of him in previous games, and in the first half he wasn’t great but in the 2nd half he worked his ar5e off and helped create quite a bit. He also played a big part in both our goals.

That’s fine, but strikers are there to score.

Mcghee played 30+ games for all but one of the last 8 seasons or so, going over 40 a few times. So I wouldn't describe him as a Callachan style crock. We signed the latter after him being out a whole season.

We'll see how this season goes, but Mcghee will be up against it trying to get into the team having missed pre season.

This from club website on 16th July:

Jordan McGhee is set to spend 6 to 8 weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury.

He picked up the injury ahead of the first match against Clyde in the Premier Sports Cup. He has begun his rehabilitation and we look forward to welcoming him back into the squad.

Jens Berthel said “It’s very unfortunate that we lose Jordan for this period of time. He’s made a very good impression in my time here. He brings experience and versatility to the squad, so he will be missed. However, he is already on the road to recovery and we look forward to him getting back soon.”

Unfortunately, I fear McGhee might be this season’s Callachan.

Kettlewells last hurrah!

He was fit and back in training last week. If he has broken down again thats a concern.

We havent missed him thus far, but he was a guy, I was hoping could cover a number of positions, so would have been good to have as a squad player as the season progressed.

Not that I heard anyone say he had broken down again. Hopefully not.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good old fashion guess. I luv it.

If any doubt persisted about our recruitment needs before today's game, then Killie helpfully removed them. A huge couple of days coming up for us that could make or break our season. Clearly we need cover at left back following Wilson's temporary departure. If, as rumours indicate, that Slattery is out for a period of time, then another midfielder is a must.  Finally we require 2 new centre backs whether Balmer departs or not. Our defence has largely been ignored in JBA's rebuild but its critical that its now addressed and quickly.

Agree. Defence has been neglected.
