I watched him quite a bit at the game yesterday as I have been quite critical of him in previous games, and in the first half he wasn’t great but in the 2nd half he worked his ar5e off and helped create quite a bit. He also played a big part in both our goals.

Big Stall
Slattery is the same as anyone else at the club - if an offer comes in which the club think is good business, he will be off Signing for Millwall tomorrow by the way Just made that up 🤣
El Grew
Thought we might have been interested in Shamal George. Was at Livingston and now at St Mirren. What’s happened to Jordan McGhee?
wellgirl
McGhee is apparently injured
wellfan
Unfortunately, I fear McGhee might be this season’s Callachan.
Orinoco
When McGhee signed i am sure you and I had the discussion about my concerns about his injury record. Take no satisfaction about being right. Was it a gamble worth taking?
texanwellfan
Don’t we subject players to medicals? If so why donee keep getting “crocks”?
robsterwood
Was there an update on McGhee? Or Slattery injury?
fizoxy
Mcghee played 30+ games for all but one of the last 8 seasons or so, going over 40 a few times. So I wouldn't describe him as a Callachan style crock. We signed the latter after him being out a whole season. We'll see how this season goes, but Mcghee will be up against it trying to get into the team having missed pre season.
El Grew
This from club website on 16th July: Jordan McGhee is set to spend 6 to 8 weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury. He picked up the injury ahead of the first match against Clyde in the Premier Sports Cup. He has begun his rehabilitation and we look forward to welcoming him back into the squad. Jens Berthel said “It’s very unfortunate that we lose Jordan for this period of time. He’s made a very good impression in my time here. He brings experience and versatility to the squad, so he will be missed. However, he is already on the road to recovery and we look forward to him getting back soon.”
texanwellfan
So hopefully he’s recovered and available right after the international break? That must be about 8 weeks, since the league cup games started in July.

He was fit and back in training last week. If he has broken down again thats a concern. We havent missed him thus far, but he was a guy, I was hoping could cover a number of positions, so would have been good to have as a squad player as the season progressed. texanwellfan
Not that I heard anyone say he had broken down again. Hopefully not.

It was just rumours that McGhee might have broken down rather than Slattery. But hopefully not the case

A huge couple of days coming up for us that could make or break our season. Clearly we need cover at left back following Wilson's temporary departure. If, as rumours indicate, that Slattery is out for a period of time, then another midfielder is a must. Finally we require 2 new centre backs whether Balmer departs or not. Our defence has largely been ignored in JBA's rebuild but its critical that its now addressed and quickly. Agree. Defence has been neglected. robsterwood
Hopefully the break will allow Calum Slattery to get fitness back. Sounds minor issue hopefully.
