I just want a nice simple claret top with an amber hoop.

I know it's age-related but me too. We've had some honking strips over the years which deliberately  turned their backs on a very unusual  combination of colours and design which are unique. We can always reserve the honking designs for the change strips if necessary. Sadly I think we'll get another jersey next season designed by an interior designer on psychedelic drugs.

I'm not sure it's an age thing I wreckon I'm one of the younger posters on here at 30. But I just like our traditional kit and wish we took a bit more pride in it.

Absolutely and why we insist on buggering about with our home kit and colours baffles me. You don’t see Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs or Dundee Utd straying from their core home kits like we do with last seasons or the horrific ‘throwback’ effort from a few years ago.

I'm with you on that. I've never been one to get worked up over strip details or trims but I much prefer our traditional top of amber with a claret band.

Yeah, I'd agree with this, although I'll also contradict myself and say I liked the 'Jester', 'Ajax' and 'Sash' strips.

My gripe is when they dont use the badge and use just the typeface.

I love our club crest - A thing of beauty.

Anyway, I'd love us to get something closer to the 86-87 strip:

I know what you mean, but the hoop and/or band has only been used on about 50% of our kits in our history. Even when I started watching us around 1970, we only had one hoop season until 1984.

Our kit in the 1925-26 season looked like this:

I'd be OK if we did that as a tribute 100 years later.

I detest any Motherwell strip with white shorts.

The clubs mentioned have shirts with one solid colour, so much harder to stray from their traditional designs.

We could go with stripey shorts in a nod to the jester kit! 😆😆😆

(I am kidding!)

I agree. Always preferred claret or amber shorts with our home kit.

As mentioned above, Id quite like to see the away kit being the reverse of the home kit.

Claret shirt, claret shorts n socks and amber hoop.....

Out of intetest why? They're the ones I was brought up with.

Probably because I was brought up with amber or claret shorts in the 70s....

Also, their "traditional" designs are not too traditional.

Dundee Utd, for example, didn't start playing in tangerine until 1969 and Aberdeen played in yellow and black stripes for about 40 years before they changed to the "traditional" red.

Cos it looks hideous, like guys that wear white socks with black trousers. The colours don't go with white.

Our colours are claret and amber. Not claret, amber and white. In the fifties and sixties shorts were either black or white. Now we can have claret or amber shorts.

With Claret shorts and with MFC script or today’s badge :whistling:
