Dundee fans not impressed as he has history in applying for jobs in Scotland when his contract is nearing end at Linfield and uses it as leverage for a new and improved contract and transfer budget. Did it with St Johnstone apparently.

Yep, and it looks like they've offered him a new deal this time too 😄 And, for the uninitiated https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/events/john-terry-celebration/photos

The only positive in that appointment would be to play the drinking game every time a Scottish journalist or media personality described the move as "box office." I'm running with it. Terry Butcher took the managers job 12 years after his last England cap (77 in total), and was famous for playing in blue. John Terry is 13 years since his last England cap (78 in total), and wears his blue strip even when he isn't playing. It's written in the stars. I don't think he lives in Stirling though. Dont get me wrong, he would be utter shite.
grizzlyg Posted yesterday at 12:36 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:36 PM Well at least it won't be Pressley, new Dundee manager. Can't imagine them being happy about that
El Grew Posted yesterday at 12:37 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:37 PM That leaves just us and Rangers without a manager.

Another team to loathe re Killie. Hope he takes some of our journeymen. Make it at Mirren mark 3. Now we got 2 well reserve teams.
AllyMax
I literally just shat my breeks there. Went on the BBC sport Scotland web page and right next to the 'Pressley is new Dundee manager', there was a headline saying 'McGhee joins Motherwell'. Took me a minute and a fair bit of colon tightening until I remembered......... 1

mio
We really need to get our ar5e in gear and get a manager in. I get the feeling, the longer we leave it the more likely we’ll get Tony Doc.
fizoxy
It took 3 weeks to get wimmer in place. Not anywhere near the time to panic. I'd argue that there's more chance of getting a Tony Doc if we rush things.

If we get someone in post by the middle or end of next week that would fit in nicely with pre season starting the following week. We'll probably hear nothing until an appointment is made and thats how it should be. I would doubt if Tony Doc will be anywhere near a short list, if indeed there is one. If you rush things you end up with the likes of Presley, Kettlewell, Naismith, Docherty etc, good to see we are taking our time as this appointment is massive. We need stability for a few season to allow whoever comes in to build a team. Another out of the blue appointment like Wimmer would be ideal, fresh outlook and ideas etc as opposed to the usual process of recycling failed managers we are used to. texanwellfan
Who knows, perhaps Wimmer gave them a few names before he left?

weeyin
Better they take time to get the right man in than make a quick hire like Maurice Malpas or Stevie Hammell.
fizoxy
The name doing the rounds is Thomas Wörle. Completely pulled out of thin air on P&B, but I want to see I'd the papers puck up on it anyway. Comes from the Ralf Ragnig gegenpress school like wimmer
