Interesting stat. 3 previous Mwell managers teams all won today. Alexanderat at Bradford , Robinson still working for the right to play football at st mirren and count Kettlewell at Killie.

Because they are decent managers with something to offer despite all the horseshit we have had to read in this forum about all three of them

90 minutes of decent football without the cutting edge, then a few minutes of luck and chaos to win it at the end. Some game, though the lack of a competent centre forward is a real concern. Hopefully that penalty sparks him into finally proving he’s not shite.

Watching back the highlights, Aberdeen fans will be gutted they didn't score. The two good chances from the first half aside, one of those 2 chances they had at the end of the 90 with Keskinen and Lazetic are converted more often than not. Could easily have been a 0-1 defeat! Imagine how different we'd be feeling if that were the case.

Having said that, we missed a couple of our own great chances and we have earned that bit of luck over these 6 games. Make no mistake, that was a huuuge win last night. Could be the foundation for a solid season.

You make your own luck, we never settled for the draw and went for the win, and we got our rewards, even after we scored we were still attacking in the 97th min.

But like you I still remain to be convinced about Stamatelopoulos hopefully last night will be the boost he needs, that said I'd hope we are looking at targets to bring in another striker in January just in case.

A great win last night and and entertaining one to boot. It was a closed call but we probably just edged it although Aberdeen will feel aggrieved that they didn't take a point, given the chances they missed. It could have been game over for us with in the first 10 minutes as they missed 3 decent chances. After an error strewn opening 15 minutes, we gradually grew into the game and were the better side. Aberdeen looked like we have in previous seasons. Decent performance with some talented players but lacked a bit of simple solidity. Although not dirty, they were somewhat cynical at times, taking advantage of a weak referee.

We played some exciting stuff and created chances without really bothering Mitov too much and lacked an end product. Slattery and Just were clearly missed. Overall though a good all round team performance. I thought Welsh and Gordon were outstanding with the latter just edging my MOTM entry.  I thought Said looked slightly out of place in central midfield.  The team showed bonding and determination through our late surge and goal celebrations.  We're work in progress but shaping up nicely, if we can just solve that striking problem.

You can't beat a late win and I was pleased that Stamatelopoulos scored with a well taken penalty. I'm surprised the ref ignored it initially but credit due he used VAR. The crowd cheered the players off the pitch and rightly so. Does anyone know what the crowd was incidentally?

Just one gripe. The shine was taken off my enjoyment last night as the kiosk ran out of steak and shell pies at half time and we had to make do with a chicken curry version much to the irritation of several punters.  Just not the same!

Really enjoyed that last night!

There's always something special about a game under the lights on a pissing wet night!

Aberdeen arent anywhere near as bad a team as their league position suggests. They have some very good players, and have been very good at trying to disrupt what we do over the 2 games. A bit like ourselves in that they have been unlucky in front of goal and their decision making let them down a couple times in the final third which is preventing them getting the goals they need to improve their results. Lazetic was greedy with his chance at the end and really should have squared it. Had he done so, we could have been 1-0 down.

That said, I thought we were generally very good first half and stayed patient. Much better attacking wise second half and probably deserved to get the 3 points in the end as we had some very good chances ourselves.

Really pleased for Stama to get off the mark. Really shoulda scored with his one on one with Mitov and was unlucky with the header that flashed at him very quickly. You could see what it meant to him getting the goal and its clear his team mates have his back the way they all celebrated with him.

Great 3 points and keeps the feelgood factor going ahead if a difficultl trip to Celtic Park next weekend.

You are probably right but they are bang average. They don't look like a top 6 team either, however they have financial resources and that will always helps . Mind you the £20 million they have spent so far isnt showing much return.
