I’ve just had the displeasure of listening to that little rodent Ian mcall on bbc. Tom English and Michael Stewart bigging us and our manager up and him coming back with JBA being disrespectful to Scottish football ?? And how he’s seen us play 3 times and we’ve only scored one goal.

an absolute dinosaur with jealousy ripping out him.

Had to change my script as was going to say how poor Slattery was today, he was but the hero today.  Dundee came for a draw and it almost worked.  6 clean sheets in a row is great but we need to be more clinical and stop looking for the perfect final pass. Plus with Hendry and RCC in team our chances of goals diminishes.  Hendry unlucky today at times but RCC offered nothing.

But it's a win and another great attendance.

Dundee were awful, Dhanda and Murray must cringe at being part of that squad.  Their keeper was literally time wasting for a 0-0 draw from about 50mins...................

For me:-

Welsh is superb!!!

Just has really come onto a game.

We badly need a striker!!!

He feels held at gunpoint to say something positive about us but this is the guy who tipped us for relegation at the start of the season hahaha.

Doesn't know his erse from his elbow.

Was looking like it was going to be one of those days, but we kept plugging away and got a deserved lead.

Dundee off the ball were stuffy and we struggled against the low block - as we do, so will be interesting to see what happens when we encounter the openness of the OF.

Dudee on the ball were utterly horrific. Just kept hoofing the ball back to us until about 85 mins when they had no option but to be a bitore expansive.

Christmas, only 2 defeats and within relative striking distance of top.

Absolutely.

We’re not a ‘darling club’ of the Scottish media like Celtic, Aberdeen or Dundee Utd so we’re always going to attract negative press from those who see us doing well as being upstarts who are daring to do better than we should be. And the fact that we’ve got an outsider leading us and making it all happen compounds it for them.

In fairness he was actually apologising about the whole JBA being disrespectful thing which he said he felt was his fault and he realised now that JBA didn't mean it like that. He was giving him praise and likening him to all the best managers he's spoken to in that they make the game seem easy.

He did still mention the Hanley thing so he hasn't gone a full 180degrees but big Jens is even turning him!!

Not when I was listening to him. He said he doesn’t like “outsiders” having a pop at the Scottish game and players and didn’t like what he said…. He then felt as because Michael Stewart had a come back on his opinion that maybe JBA didn’t mean it in a nasty way and it was maybe a language thing and he didn’t mean it?
a language thing? Coming from Mcall, I nearly spat out ma chips

If someone like mcinnes made the same comment as Jen's after the Hibs game about us targeting Hanley, then he would have been a tactical genius according to mccall,he's nothing more than a hanger on and the sooner the scottish game is rid of folk like him the better.

Made it hard for ourselves today. A bit of frustration in the stand but I think that's because our expectations have risen. Our final ball was poor but we still dominated and thoroughly deserved the win. McGinn and Welsh were outstanding. I know he scored but I really dint know how Slattery got man of the match. He's was consistently poor today. However thats small beer in and otherwise decent day and result.

Pretty much spot on with my view. I thought Slattery was pretty poor and I would have taken him off instead of RCC. As always, I have to admit that the manager knows better than me.

Didn't quite click today too many loose and overhit passes.

You could feel the frustration building but we stuck with it and got what we deserved.

One of those games where, poor as Dundee were, a mistake by us or a lucky break for them could have put the 3 points their way.

Defended solidly again for the most part.

Your second last paragraph was worrying me for most of the second half. We were so much in control of the game but nothing to show for it.

Well we got there eventually.

Looked like it was going to be one of those games but even though we weren't at our best today and we definitely missed Maswanhise we still created enough chances to comfortably win the game.

For me Said is far superior to Regan-Cook but maybe Said is just one of those players who's better coming off the bench.

Either way we struggled in the final third first half but still should have gone in 1-0 up.

Second half it was almost constant pressure on the Dundee box without anything coming off, some poor final ball, poor finishing and a few unlucky breaks.

Maybe it was lucky we scored so late in the game cos Dundee looked like a different team after the goal and instead of grimly trying to hang on looked like a real threat.  However I thought McGinn and especially Welsh were absolutely fantastic today.

We were uncharacteristically untidy with the ball for the first 15 to 20 minutes today.

Dont know if it was Dundee's press, the bumpier than usual surface, the sun in our eyes, or a mixture of all three, but we coughed it up cheaply way more than usual with Watt and Slattery being the main culprits.

Fortunately Dundee did little with it and we were able to win it back quickly for the most part.

After that, I thought the game settled down into our usual pattern and although we didnt create lots of chances we should still have gone in ahead.

Hendry's chance was probably the best and having created it for himself he really should have put it away.

Second half was one way traffic. A mixture of bad luck and bad finishing delayed our eventual winner.

Not our best performance, but still comfortably the better team.

We really should have seen it out more comfortably than we did by keeping the ball instead of bootingnit away repeatedly, however, we got their in the end.

We are now in a really good position and can have a real go at Rangers and Celtic in the next 2 games without anything to lose or fear.

2 positive results could turn a good season into the prospect of a great one.
