mio
I thought we made a wee but heavy weather of that but a 2-0 at home I’d take tha any day of the week. Agree we need to be better next week v Dundee. That will be a tough one.
Ya Bezzer!
29 minutes ago, Andy H said: What's the best result for us tomorrow. Celtic win and we go above Rangers after beating Dundee next week. Draw and we get closer to them both or Rangers win, we stay 3 behind but just a point behind Celtic? We have Celtic and Hearts to play twice, Rangers once. This is completely in our hands Celtic have two games in hand, while we have a game in hand over Rangers, so I think the worst result would be for Celtic to win. A draw would be best though. texanwellfan
Celtic have 3 bruising games before they play us. 2 x rangers plus dons at Aberdeen. Meanwhile we have Dundee away. So hopefully they might be hurting a bit when they play us.

texanwellfan
Another clean sheet. The best goal difference in the league. Playing the best/most entertaining football. Have to keep pinching myself.

Completely agree - over the years there’s been good performances and some tough watches . can’t ever remember this standard of slick play and complete domination , not just now and again but again and again. just soaking it all in , don’t want this season to end . FirParkCornerExile
A comfortable win without reaching the heights we are capable of. The atmosphere was a bit flat because we didn't get into our usual stride but no major concerns. Its 3 points, we move onto Dundee. Good to see Hibs dropping 2 points. Welly Machine
We can be better but comfortable win all the same. How many 2 nils is that now? Should really be putting a fiver on that every home game.
Richie
Put £10 on 2-0, Maswanhise Goal or assist and Just assist. Return of £400, but unfortunately no assist from Just.

star sail
It would be interesting to see what would happen if Motherwell won the league with the best defensive record in the country regarding the Scotland World Cup squad. It is possible this could happen with no Well players in the Scotland team.

Presumably the multiple long balls in first half was on instruction but his distribution started getting very sloppy towards end. I suppose the good thing is that we lost goals early in the season from these types of lapses but defended the resulting loss of possession better today. Dundee Utd were man marking so were making it harder to play out from the back so he had to go long more often that would be usual.

Yes that seemed to be the case but also seemed more deliberate than just that reason. JT and Said were regularly looking to run onto Wards through balls and nearly worked as a tactic on couple of occasions.

grizzlyg
1 down, 10 to go. A good steady performance apart from a flat 2nd half for about 15 mins and Ward and priestman making it a bit nervy. However a great home support and just loving this season. COYW
thewelllfan
We never really had to get out of 2nd gear and won today. This season is literally a case of what could have been. We got hammered in the LC SF by St Mirren if we'd won that you'd have felt we can go win the cup. If Preistman doesn't get sent off inside 2 mins at Aberdeen and Gordon isn't sent off for a foul on the halfway line you'd have fancied us to progress in the cup. Then if Callum Ward had had a better start to the season we'd be right in and about a title race. (Hearts 3-3 should have saved 2 of the goals, playing the ball straight to Nygren to make it 2-2 at Celtic Park, Dropping the ball against Killie for their equaliser). We'd have been a couple of points better off and right in the hunt as well as taking points of the other teams. However a positive to finish off to have kept 21 CS this season is exceptional stuff to think their were seasons in recent years where we had 3 or 4 the entire season the change has been brilliant. joewarkfanclub
I think it shows how far we have come as a team when you leave the ground slightly underwhelmed with a 2-0 victory over Dundee United. I thought we were pretty good first half. Controlled the game and limited them to one decent chance. Created plenty ourslves and should have really scored a few goals. Had no idea what happened with the penalty at the game, but from the highlights their defender clearly elbows JT in the midrift, so think its a fair enough shout. Got lucky with the finish for the second goal, but given the other chances we created (and missed) we probably deserved it on pressure alone. Was disappointed how we finished the game. We got sloppy with our passing and made some pretty bad decisions. A better team might have taken advantage. Overall though, great 3 points. Thought we had gears to go and can certainly play a lot better. We might need to next week.
