You dont rate him, I dont know yet, give it a few more games. My views well known on this forum and I still feel AJ needs time. At start of season all talk was it would be a transitional period judging on the manager and players we lost. I dont see a team not trying, its bad individual errors that are costing us . Kettlewell had a 16 game winless run and board stood by him until he engineered his departure. I think AJ is likeable guy and I am desperate for him to turn things round. Look at both Dundee teams, they are having a good season but both pressley and Goodwin were under pressure last season. If folk dont like AJ and want him sacked of course that is their opinion and totally respect that but I think some of the comments aimed at him are very personal and unnecessary. Ohhhh please give us 3pts tomorrow COYW

Willie Hunter Posted yesterday at 02:04 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:04 PM Just now, Willie Hunter said: Agree totally with these observations. You can go round in circles with stats, previous history previous managers etc but if you do not possess a decent defender let alone a decent defence then the outcome is virtually self-evident. Only hope is the January transfer window. SORRY.

I dont see this board calling time early on Alfred. As a club we tend not to do that. Now that the Well Society are wielding more influence in the board room, I think its even less likely. The fans wanted an identity. We got one and the board have tried to be consistent with that and backed a "philosophy". They wont want to row back on that without giving him every chance. We want to be known as a club who give managers time to turn things around. When you cant pay the most money, job security can overcome that barrier. Re fans not liking AJ, I dont think thats the case either. Some fans just have less patience for poor performances than others and worry about our Premiership status. 4
star sail Posted yesterday at 06:06 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 06:06 PM Interesting to listen to SPH. He is very positive about the influence AJ has had on his game both from a management perspective and a coaching perspective. This is partly why Alfred was brought in. Worth a listen for anybody currently sitting on the fence.

My problem is that I can't understand how poor our defence is. A simple old-fashioned head on the ball on Wednesday and we would be two points better off already. Why can't our defence take responsibility and simply cleat their lines? I think Paul McGinn would make a huge difference in organising and stiffening the defence but worry how resilient he can be at his age. We only need him to be resilient until the January transfer window so we can bring in something better that the current incumbents who are absolutely hopeless on evidence so far.. Yup that is a great point. Apart from kanga how many of our signings were AJ's suggestions? I reckon scouted and then presented to him. JBA defo spotted just and said and they were great. I would like AJ to recognise targets from his 30 months in norway. I really hope he is given that opportunity.
Bart Verheul
I said after the Hearts game he had to get at least 4 points from the next two and fair play to him he has. He got criticism on Wednesday for his substitutions but today he got them right and Charles-Cook who isn't exactly a favourite of mine deserves credit too because he won the penalty through putting the defender under pressure and he also had one particular run back the way in which he tracked his man and stopped what would have been a great chance for St.Mirren People will say it's only papering over the cracks and I probably would have been the same but as I said on Wednesday night the players are clearly all still behind him Well done to them all today and hope they enjoy the 3pts.
Prestwickwell
Typically I’m away & we win ( before the usual where’s all the sack aj posters tonight kicks in ) fair play to him, he’s pulled a big result out the bag & sounds like it was well deserved hopefully we can kick on from this
texanwellfan
I was surprised how little St Mirren offered today. Early in the season it looked like they were trying to play some nice football but apparently they’ve given up on that. We looked a lot more relaxed and composed on the ball today and had several good moves but our finishing was woeful. Nice to get a clean sheet and 3 points. I think we can play as well as most teams in the league and should pick up a decent amount of points…..if……. We cut out the silly mistakes. Interestingly we didn’t make any silly mistakes today and came away with a clean sheet and 3 points.

Motherwell Daft
We need the same result against that Fanny Godwin’s mob next, hopefully now with Oscar back and I’d like to thk McGinn starting and adding a bit of solidity to the defence, I’m glad we managed 4 points last 2 games it shd have been 6 but hopefully we can become more difficult to score against and let’s start hitting the net more often, play down the left with Longo and we will score, forget the Sparrow n Mas comedy act on the right! Mcginn returning huge but I dont want to rush him back and risk another injury. Priestman massive today and been missed so much. Once lowry back that midfield will be so much stronger

But it would be a good headache to have.
joewarkfanclub
Hopefully today buys Alfred some time. The performances over the last couple of weeks have been getting steadily better. The players are clearly working hard for each other, so any talk of the dressing room being gone was clearly off the mark. With Oscar, McGinn and Hendry all back, the squad is starting to look stronger again. If we could get Lowry, Williams and Johnny K back I think we will be in much better shape. No sackings this side of the international break at least!

For me Williams back would be great as him and manny could be a great combination but I thought Kanga was good in flashes, he is still only 20 and getting used to the league
