Agree with previous poster, defence a bit ropey,2 cb maybe still to gell, another thing and maybe its just me,the chant of so fuxxing easy didnt sit well with me especially with fans being made welcome and hb players off to bed for their daytime jobs.

Indeed, it would be nice to maintain some humility on our European travels

Safely through but can't help but feel that a better team would have punished us tonight. Plenty to work on and still some match sharpness to come. Onwards and upwards. Looking forward to league business returning at the weekend. COYW!

I can't say that I heard that, but you're right, it isn't a good look. I know that it's a bit of banter, but our fans should be more respectful of the opposition.

That said, let's not take anything away from the display. Given the lack of resources and the upheaval, AJ has done well to get a tune from the team in such a short time. Progress through the rounds is a nice little money earner, and great for the fans. Long may it continue.

Of course, the real test will come on Sunday, when we play a team of equal standard.

If 'so fucking easy' is the worst behaviour from the trip then the fans have done well.

All aboard the bible bus 🙏 🚌

If "don't be an arse to your inoffensive hosts" is too high a bar, then I suppose so.

Age of tonight's goalkeeper, back four, and midfield..

24

23 22 25 22

23 25 19

Bit of disorganisation in the defence could be put down to them having not played together much but I'm concerned that a slight lack of an experienced organiser either in defence or midfield might also be a factor.

Maybe age isn't necessarily a factor, it's leadership. Both games I felt lke there wasn't anyone being particularly vocal. Likes of Watt, Welsh, McGinn and even Slattery were there last season. Maybe it'll come with the likes of Moorman when he settles in but I'm putting the shaky defence down to that lack of am organiser rather than individual abilities....

HB came out the blocks flying as you would expect with their home record, but we settled quickly and after the first 10 minutes dominated the ball and the game.

You can see that the team is still new and finding its feet with a few stray passes giving HB more encouragement than they needed. Paulsen and the 2 centre backs still dont feel 100% comfortable, but that will come.

Overall it was a very impressive performance and I think we are miles ahead of where we were this time last season.

Loads of room for improvement but with Longelo and Cookie now looking ready, Maswanhise getting minutes off the bench and Lowry now available for selection, things are looking promising.

Will be a step up in class next week, but with a wee trip to Easter Road on Sunday, I would expect us to be ready.

Just no more injuries please!

To be honest the chanting from support doesn't bother me. Would be more annoyed if flares let off

These fans paid a lot of money for this trip so total respect

Totally agree re fans support and expenses outlay, nothing but huge praise for them,it was a personal thing, maybe a tad feeling sorry for them with their slighty empty stadium and their players that also hold down other jobs,it was just a personal that i felt and conveyed.

I thought our experienced bods from last year pulled us through both games, Priestman, Fadinger, Sparrow, Said I felt have been our top performers. RCC has done ok as well but can be a bit frustrating.

we are definitely short of 3 or 4 players and I think the Hibs game could be a struggle. An advantage could be the opposition still thinking we are exactly the same as last season (seen loads of posts from loads of other club fans suggesting this) so hopefully Hibs might give us too much respect and sit off us. We are nowhere near even half the level of last season I’m afraid…. At the moment anyway. If we can pick up a draw on Saturday I’d be delighted

At this stage last season we never knew how good we would be either, so its not a fair comparison, but that said having lost the engine room of the team, in Slattery, Watt and especially Just we are weaker.

Hibs will be a big test, and if we avoid defeat i will be happy.

Did you not have a feeling last year something was good? I know I did and the guys I go to the game did. It felt as if something exciting was happening. Even with the occasional lapses in the LC games there’s was something there. I don’t get that this year…. I hope I am wrong as I do like Alfred and I do think a couple of the signings, Moorman, Reich and Williams look decent.
time will tell and it’s probably not right to doubt anything until half a dozen games in. I’ll just hope for the best.

Are you comparing the team this year and the team last last year after just two competitive games or from half way thru the season.

Jumping to conclusions a bit there. As some were saying we would be doing well to sneak past HB by the odd goal 🤔

Not at all, just comparing my feelings at the end of the LC stage last year to effectively the same time this year.

just my view, everyone has one 👍

I dont think Just and Said were on board at this point last year so theres no real comparison.
