MFCL84
That was a worrying performance. It was very disjointed. Defensively I've not seen us that bad in a very long time. St.Mirren found it very easy to get in behind and the aerial threat couldn't be dealt with. They also had greater pace throughout the team. Maybe a bit of tiredness across the squad, possibly mentally as much as physically. Body language was poor from a few, suggesting that they didn't have the desire to push themselves when the chips were down. Great finish from Kanga to get his Well career off to a flyer. An important point to pick up. If that game had been lost, it may have taken a very large toll on confidence. Very happy to save a point. 1
texanwellfan
I know they have the new rule about player goes off for a minute if they have treatment but I thought they still stayed on if yellow card was given to opponent who injured the player?? they got a yellow amd we had to play a man down for at least a minute. That makes no sense!!
texanwellfan
I wouldn’t describe it as a worrying performance. Things we need to work on for sure though.
grizzlyg
Should have been outta sight but still we salvaged a draw. Lets remember a few things. 1) lost a great manager and 5 first team regulars 2) have brought in 10 players spending a good amount of money and a manager I think is going to be a success. 3) we have had a heavy schedule plus a bad injury list. 4) trust me. I am really excited once everyone fit COYW 4
Spiderpig
1st rule of football if for whatever reason you are not getting 3 points, make sure you get 1, its still 2 points dropped today but given the timescale today, its a point gained, oh and a brilliant debut from Kanga, i think he will turn out to be a brilliant bit of business, coyw

That makes no sense!! You are 100% correct sir! I was screaming at Clancy! Absolutely clueless. Whats the point of playing advantage, stopping play and booking the guy, if you then disadvantage the team whose player was fouled.

That was a total mismatch today but he hung in there and done well after getting booked pretty quickly. Towards the end I’m not sure if our defenders learned from Freiburg or just couldn’t catch the St Mirren guy but well done om not pulling him down when he was thru and Paulsen saves it.

weeyin
We currently don't have a squad capable of Thu-Sun-Thu Euro football, so happy to take a point after it looked like we ran out of steam at the 30 minute mark. A stronger bench certainly helped, and Kanga could be as good a piece of business as Watt or Just.
texanwellfan
At least next string of games has every team playing midweek.
weeyin
This time last season, we'd played 4 drawn 4. We are one point ahead of that tally with only 3 games played. Not too bad given all the disruption of injuries and Euro travels.

I’d say we are well ahead of schedule and also 2 points better off than we were at this stage last season. i believe
joewarkfanclub
I thought a point was the least we deserved today. Totally dominated the game for 30 minutes and should have been outta sight before we allowed them back into it. Poor pen from JT. I dont like the stutter start and he makes it easy for the keeper to save the minute he goes the right way. Also thought it was another poor decision when he took the ball inside and shot wide. He had dragged the defender away from Lowry and should have played him in. Unfortunately we seem to be playing much more open this season which is great going forward, but we are leaving ourselves wide open on the counter. The capitulation before half time was unforgiveable, albeit I think their 2nd is offside and the third is 4 minutes into stoppage time when only 2 were announced and nothing of note had happened to further extend it. Second half was a game of basketball. End to end stuff with St Mirren having the better of the chances. We certainly had Paulsen to thank for keeping us in it. Thought Kanga looked to be struggling to adjust to the pace of the game off the bench but what a way to announce yourself to Scottish football. Genuine goal of the season candidate! Overall, a point at St Mirren isnt bad after a tough European game. Plenty to improve upon, but loads to be excited about as well. Cant wait for Wednesday.

MJC
33 minutes ago, grizzlyg said: Ahem.............could have been worse though I was right though. 🤷♂️ A draw was a good result given how the game went and a last minute leveller sickened the St.Mirren fans so that is a positive. Questions need to be asked over the way we surrendered a 2-0 lead within minutes at the end of the first half to go in behind at the interval. I’m happy with the draw given the context of the game.
