Stuwell2
Strangely I’m disappointed that we never managed a goal today, I don’t know why but I thought we’d have made a decent chance and scored but hey ho we move on.
mio
That just did not feel right at all today, we lacked the speed we have been playing at and we were really slack, really frustrating that we didn’t give a good account of ourselves. Rangers are not good at all yet they should really have scored about 5 goals. the break comes at a good time as we look knackered.
Prestwickwell
Haven’t seen it today apart from last 20 so might be wrong last season we had the balls to go to ibrox & have a go, last 20 minutes I seen didn’t look like that starting Charles cook up front didn’t suggest we were having a go when I seen the lineup ( might be a reason for it that I’ve missed tbf )

Still hoping that’s got a few bad performances out of peoples systems all in the one go without, what could have been, a big dent in GD. I know im banging on about the mistake but it was hardly a heavy press on goalie, hes literally passed the ball to him, even shankland would have put enough pressure on him
texanwellfan
1 hour ago, El Grew said: I know stats don’t always tell the whole story in a game but today we made a total of 571 passes but only 164 (28%) of those were forward. Despite us appearing to dominate possession, too much of it was in our own half and in areas of the pitch where we posed no threat. Rangers had possession where it counts as witnessed by 27 shots and 42 touches inside our box. Possession is all good and well but if it doesn’t produce and end product i.e. goals then it become a pointless exercise. I always view anything we get from games at Ibrox and Parkhead as a bonus and that they won’t define our season so long as we take care of business with the rest. COYW. I hear what you’re saying but keeping the ball means the other team have a lot less chance of scoring but we so need to score goals to win games. Always a time and place to hoof it from danger though. That could have derailed the guy but in the end he prevented a cricket score. I'll let him off on that basis. That was his issue, his decision. Had an easy pass to player on his right side, no need to try and fake out the forward.

FirParkCornerExile
What I take from today is to play as poorly and but for a poor error from the keeper we could have got a point. Its alright everyone saying Rangers should have had 4 or 5 goals but they didn't. We pay a defence and goalkeeper to stop goals and but for one lapse wed have played poorly and got a point. Everyone saying they had 27 shots but yeah only 6 on target. Thats nearly 4 in 5 shots didn't require the keeper to save. Its not all gloomy. Ill be more worried if we are as slow and pedestrian against Aberdeen.
robsterwood
Shows today that rangers spent 30 mil and us maybe just over 1 mil on players. Last season was best chance to beat either old firm in cups or league.

Never seen the game like I said but the issue is rangers have been dire this season so we should have been able to lay a glove on them would very much doubt any other team has conceded 27 shots seb should have started up front & we should have had a go at it fadinger looks like he needs a rest, maybe said as well & we need to start playing with a purpose to hurt teams

The first two for me haven't had enough proper gametime. I think big Eythor deserves a chance to play over 90 mins, we need to add a little physicality to that area

They still only got one goal that we gifted as poorly as we played. Folk need to get some perspective. I said before the game I thought too many Motherwell fans were thinking we'd turn them over comfortably that was never going to happen at Ibrox.
joewarkfanclub
Not sure what this team & manager needs to do to earn some leeway from some of our fans. I get folk being disappointed with the result, and everyone is entitled to give their opinion on the performance, particularly second half. But cheesy peeps, some of these takes are wild!
texanwellfan
Regarding the theme of the last few posts, Rangers probably played as well as they have done this season whereas we put in a performance similar in quality to the game against Falkirk. Still we only got beat by one goal that we literally gifted them.

MJC
I only saw the end of the first half but saw the second half in full and we can have no complaints, Rangers were well worth their win and indeed would have won by more if they had been more clinical. It’s obviously very frustrating that the goal they did manage to score only came about because we gifted it to them. I cannot stress just how much I hate seeing goalkeepers trying to be footballers in their own box. We saw it last year with Ward at Celtic Park and today again with Paulsen and it cost us both times. Del continues to have a hold over us it seems. We couldn’t beat his Hearts team last season even with JBA and today Rangers nullified us with a side typical of one managed by him, disciplined and dogged and get the job done. Happy Dosser
If you want MFC to play out from the back, which is the basis of our possession play, then the odd mistake is inevitable. Paulsen has been excellent this year but simply made a misjudgement today. Donnarumma of Man City committed a howler that escaped a goal by about three cms today so it can happen to the best of GKs. Even then I thought we could have scored but three reasonable chances went a-begging in the first half and we looked out of it in the second: knackered. The international break for once has come at the right time for us. I'm pretty sure we'll come back strongly against The Mutton Molesters. Alfred was honest in his post-match comments and I'm sure we'll make amends.
