However GA to Aberdeen wouldn't surprise me in January assuming current form continues. I don't think they think he's good enough. They'll be looking for "a name". They are the most deluded, arrogant, pig headed, po-faced chumps out there. They think they have a divine right to be challenging for league titles and making inroads in Europe when the reality is that they are are no more than a standard Scottish top flight side these days. Whoever takes on that job would be on a hiding to nothing.

middleeastdave 85 Report post Posted October 8, 2021 With the Newcastle revelation about to start under the new Saudi owners I would think our ex goalkeeper Mark Gillespie will be looking for another club, in fact I am not sure where he is in the pecking order now! Randolph did the same when he left regular first team football at Middlesbrough to rejoin West Ham as a backup.

Lobey_Dosser 805 Report post Posted October 11, 2021 Glad to see him punted. The fact that some of us, myself included, were content to see him sign is a painful reminder of how bad we were last Jan.

joewarkfanclub 876 Report post Posted October 11, 2021 I think you can always tell how well or otherwise a player is regarded at a club by the length of the club statement when they leave. That one couldnt really have been any shorter......

wellsince75 201 Report post Posted October 12, 2021 good luck to him. We've signed many a player over the last few years who simply aren't good enough for SPL, the sooner we spot this and let them leave the better. Suspect he'll have something lined up - hence the mutual ending of contact. There's a few others who could easily be in the same position ( irrespective of making/not making social media comments. ) The hard bit is them finding new clubs and wishing to cancel their contract. weeyin 4,154 Report post Posted October 12, 2021 I'm old enough to remember when the chat on here was that Lawless was an example of a player we shouldn't have released. Having said that - he has spent 9 years playing in the top Scottish League, which is a decent career that many players we released would have been happy with. I'm not surprised we punted him he left by mutual consent after his recent shenanigans.
