We need a regular starting striker with proven league experience, for the league campaign not a project, I am sure we can do better.5 points

Not a team of the best players, but a team representing those players I loved watching. Randolph Nijholt Martin Forbes Wark McAllister O'Neil Cooper Pettigrew Higdon Coyne Honourable mention to Billy Campbell, Brian Heron, Dougie Arnott, Phil O'Donnell, Keith MacRae, Bobby Russell, Vic Davidson, Jackie McInally, Martin Corrigan and so many more. I guess I could easily pick three teams of players I have had the privilege of watching over the years. I'm now off to work on a team that includes 11 players I wish I had not had to suffer during those same years. Might even include a Manager. A recent one.3 points

I have to say, the way Lennon has left the club absolutely oozes class. He’s made a wee video message, put stuff out there on social media and I now see his family have added stuff to social media too thanking the club and fans etc for everything. When you see how some others have left, not so much us but other “provincial” teams, it’s a breath of fresh air. Should be held as an example to others how to leave a club….. the £4.75m does help as well right enough 🤣3 points

As a raw prospect to gamble on, he's probably a suitable replacement for Sule if he’s going to be out for a while. But even before Sule was injured, I felt we needed competition for Stamatelopolous/cover in case he got injured. I still figure we'll be looking for someone to fill that role. The plan B at the moment is move Maswanhise inside and play Said on the wing. I have to figure Jens will be looking for a better Plan B...1 point

We could also contribute more to a loan players wages1 point

We need to buy a forward and need another creative midfielder. In doing this we can also potentially up the value if the player and keep making from our selling club model. Also we can afford higher signing fee for free agents or known quality in league players that may be nearing end of contract. Remember also that Miller leaving frees up a salary. Obviously majority should be banked and training complex updated.1 point

On? The? Money? Seeing as you're self congratulating for getting one right, you'll need to take the hit on this one! ps I'm fully aware it was tongue-in-cheek. For clarity, so is this1 point

Yes. Quite how much and when I don't know but the club has to grasp this nettle at some point. A policy of sticking plasters and avoidance won't cut it long term.1 point

Money needs to be directed towards a replacement of the PoD stand if we are to remain at Fir Park sustainably moving forward. That said I don't think the whole lot should be blown on that, a portion should be kept aside and the remainder on club facilities. If the PoD stand wasn't a tinderbox I would 100% be saying invest the whack on a new training campus.1 point

Well done to young Lennon and I really hope he does well in Italy. Certainly the world is at his feet. He certainly left with a great deal of class. A real role model for young players and it also speaks volumes for our Academy. Sometimes it pays a promising youngster to stay with us for an extra year or perhaps two, before moving onto to bigger things. I've never been one to fawn over departed players but I'll be keeping an eye open for him.1 point

Congratulations Lennon Miller. It must take no small amount of courage to go to a European country without being able to speak the language at the tender age of 18. It would have been easy to settle for a British club with the comforts of home. For his bravery alone, I hope he is hugely successful and we can all be proud to say that he started at our wee club.1 point

Watch you don't knock off your Motherwell bunnet patting yourself on the back.1 point

When he first arrived we still had George Burley. Remember Nijholt wearing the number five quite a bit. Back when shirt numbers meant something...1 point

Nijholt was best at centre back. Played anywhere across the back four but best as a central defender...1 point

I agree the bulk of the funds should be directed towards infrastructure and youth development. That’s our future. But I hope there can be a balance. A portion must be spent on an attempt to improve the quality on the pitch. That’s the bit the fans see each week and which has raised our spirits (most of us anyway 😂) of late. We have seen positive signs since JBA came in and with his signings we have evidence he can source players who will improve us and who will cope with his preferred way of playing. I honestly believe he will already have identified players to improve those areas we all know need addressing. And I suspect we will see evidence of that very soon. in recent seasons we have been mostly limited to free transfers, often taking a punt on players recovering from serious injury, and loan players. Ap Stam being the obvious exception of course and in truth the jury is still out as far as he is concerned. But that was a big spend on one player. A greater risk. I believe bringing in around four starters totalling £500k/600k in total could really provide the uplift in quality the squad needs to progress. That leaves over £3.5m for projects and the like. The Miller fee is a massive sum to a Club such as ours but it is a pittance to Udinese so hopefully the bulk, if not all, will be received up front. If we are honest we must also accept that none of our youngsters are currently ready to play a meaningful role in the first team. And taking into account the number of players that have departed from last season’s squad the monthly wage bill should not put pressure on our finances even if we strengthen. If we really trust and support our Manager then he should be given the support and encouragement to continue our progress. How often to we get this opportunity and have a Manager who we would trust to spend wisely? .1 point

Invest it in more youth development and upgrading our training facilities. The only way we can have the pleasure of watching another Miller is by bringing them through the academy. We'll never be able to afford to buy one.1 point

I’ve no idea how you fitted that in due to all the fishing trips you go on.1 point

I was delighted when I watched Tom Boyd lift the Scottish Cup. Could not care less what he said or did after that, and certainly don't get offended by anything a footballer says. They are not typically blessed with deep insight or even common sense.1 point

Looking at Tams team, its clearly all guys he saw play, which is fair enough, as its always difficult to compare players of different generations. But given that Im the same age as him, I reckon either of my teams would scud his! Sieb Nijholt Krivokapic Martin Wark McFadden Lambert Russell Cooper Graham Pettigrew Randolph Corrigan McCart Craigan McKinnon McCormack POD McAllister Murphy Arnott Coyne Notable mentions to Ally Maxwell, George Burley, Shaun Hutchison, Stevie Hammell, Vic Davidson, David Turnbull, Peter Marinello, Higdon, Sutton, Moult & KVV.1 point

I guess its personal choice and all a bit of fun, but Joe Wark at right back. Seriously? Bad enough the great man never won a Scotland cap, but not making a Motherwell fans greatest ever 11 in his natural position is beyond the pale!1 point
