You know how this forum works, 7 games into a 38 game season we are on a bad run last 3 games, 4 points off 3rd and the manager and team are being questioned 🤦‍♂️ Every team will have a bad spell, we did last season and it worked out ok. The board will give AJ time and i have no doubt he will get it right and we will start winning again.

Let me be clear from the start — this isn't a call for Alfred Johansson's head. But the concerns around this Motherwell side are real, and they're growing. Performances matter, and right now we are regressing. Several of our recent games haven't just been slip-ups — they've been dreadful. That's not a bump in the road, that's a pattern. We' have decent quality in this squad. Given that, the manager needs to take a good, hard look in the mirror. I get that this is a huge overhaul and these things take time. But the regression is clear, and right now it isn't obvious that Johansson has the answer. He'll get time — nobody's calling for him to go. This is just stating the obvious: something has to change, and soon. Fans won't keep turning up for this. It was never only about winning — it's about being entertained. Unless we see a real improvement in performances, the good work from last season is going to be undone. The basics of how this team is set up need serious attention.

I am not a happy clapper....more like a crappy joker but at start of season we were playing good football. We have hit a bad run of form ( as St Mirren have also) and yes it needs to improve but is way too early for harsh decisions to be made. AJ has come in following a manager who was different class and I think he has wanted to bed the players in gently and bring his own style in. These 3 weeks he needs to get ruthless and drop those that aren't performing and get the likes of SOD, Williams, Levitt into the side. Not disputing its poor just now but look at any team in the league and they all go through bad spells. No manager would come anywhere near us if we decided to change things after 2 months. AJ picks the team but the players need a hard look at themselves also, they got a 2nd chance today after midweek and haven't taken it. Last thing we need is negativity in the stands as that doesn't help things. I know a lot will disagree with me but hey that's my opinion and how I feel. COYW

I’ve been pretty confident going into every game this season, even after the Stenny debacle, but I have to admit I’ve got the fear today. Alfred’s pre-match presser also felt like the most downbeat of his Motherwell career, which hasn’t helped lift me after the Aberdeen embarrassment. Today is huge. The performance probably matters more than the result, but we really can’t be going into the long international break on a downer.

Various opinions on here whether you agree or not which of course is healthy debate but feck me!!......go on Facebook and some of the comments beggar belief. As i have said before ( a bit like repeating jokes) 3 weeks ago we were in freiburg competing well. We have had 2 very poor results and all of a sudden everything is pear shaped. Buck stops with AJ as he is manager but there are a good few players that need a serious look at themselves. Social media probably plays a big part these days but jeez some of the teams I have witnessed over the years and were on worse runs than this. If come end of the year we are still on a bad run then we deal with it. However it just needs one good result to turn things round

Now that Ive had the drive back from Dundee to calm down I'm probably going to be in a minority of one. I didn't think it was bad as the hysteria being spouted online suggests and those saying the managers a dud and needs removed are needing a long hard look at themselves. We played better football today than we did against Aberdeen, particularly in the second half where we upped the pace of the press. First half the build up was slow and predictable and there is no hiding the fact we have fuck all up front with Maswanhise. The important points as I saw it. We beat ourselves, it was all self inflicted I.d be more worried if Dundee were a better team than us. This was a Dundee team getting plaudits from everywhere at how good they were and had we not shot ourselves in the foot they were never beating us today.. 1. We gifted Dundee two goals, they didn't have to work hard for them. 2. Maswanhise should now be benched, he's not even nuisance value. 3. SOD needs brought back into the team. He can deliver decent balls into the area and with Eythor Bjørgolfsson in the forward line we have someone who could take advantage and unsettle the opposition. Maswanhise couldn't unsettle me.. 4 Sparrow was far too content to turn back and play the safe easy ball and creating fuck all. 5. Hodge ain't doing it for me as yet, we badly need Preistman back. 6. Jake Girdwood- Reich is slower than a week in the jail and again nearly cost us .His style of play actually encourages the slow pedestrian build up. When the ball is played out to him he never does anything at pace its slow and pedestrian and it allows our opponents to set up in positions to stifle us. 7. Its time for Eythor Bjørgolfsson to start . He did more to unsettle Dundees defence in 8 minutes than Maswanhise or RCC have done in 8 games. 8. Manager is being too predictable and loyal in his team selection. We have a big squad and we have different options the manager now needs to use them. I actually don't think we are too far away we just need the manager to make the necessary sacrifices among some of his automatic picks and for the players to learn that they don't need to take 4 or 5 touches in the box. If he sticks with his predictable first team picks we are going to see more of the same.

Far far too early for us to be anywhere near thinking that. I feel we have a good squad but AJ needs to work out his best line-up and drop the underperformers. Robinson was under pressure and has had a massive week. Hearts manager was being questioned early on and is improving things. All fans forums probably same as ours. Win a game and we are all smiling, lose and its a crisis.

I admire your confidence, but it's difficult to see it with a team that is so slow, pedestrian and devoid of any attacking threat.

The penalty is utterly ridiculous. That’s the result of the SFA being run by wee guys who have power without consequence. The rest is shite.

There's no rule about stopping crosses reaching the 6 yard box. The exact wording is: deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. He didn't deliberately touch the ball with his arm, and the position of his arm was a natural consequence of turning away from the ball being hit at him.

Not quite sure I get all the anti Vogt rhetoric on social media. The lad clearly has talent with pace to burn and was identified by JBA; in effect his signing. Yes, he's finding it difficult to make the step up but he needs time and coaching.

I just mean its not a good look fir the club if we don't give him a fair chance. We have had 2 honking results which of course no-one is happy about but he needs a fair chance to rectify it and also the players need to look at themselves. I feel we have the players. We just need the right formation. We are missing priestman big time but we need to get SOD, williams, Levitt, thor in and I think Kanga will come good ( been here less than a month) COYW

Crowds have been decent away crowds 1 of the best in the league bigger clubs than us have been a shambles for years so money can’t be the main denominator we’re not a small club & we’re a club that should expect to be pushing top 6, entertaining & having decent cup runs

Hope it isn't even being considered but if AJ got punted you can kiss goodbye to our new model as no decent manager would come anywhere near us. " ye come to Motherwell but please note if within 2 months we have some bad results then its cheerio". Look at killie.....dons.....dun utd......hearts. all had bad runs but bounced back

Might just be me, but I'll probably pay more attention to the guy who's actually being paid to do the job over the people who need to pay to watch him do said job.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. The similarities are there…walked into a near impossible task, started off okay but the cracks starting to show and looking out of his depth.

Agree re dropping both of them and have them on the bench . For me we lack energy or willingness to take on players and or move at at pace - it’s all quite easy to play against . I also think we have enough depth to be much stronger defence - SOD, knight-level and Williams could all come in. midfield - levit deserves a slot . Priestman will be a welcome return but personally think missing a trick by having Ollie Whyte on loan . He has a bit more physicality about him and I thought looked very decent . forward is tricky - perhaps Thor needs a chance and I’d be happy to see a pick n mix of several others to see how they fair.

We all want to see the same thing and being proved wrong about Motherwell is very often a real bonus.

I get the impression he's been trying not upset the apple cart from JBA team, for those that are still with us and frankly we don't have the same players to play it exactly the same. I think he now has to step up and be his own man and put a rocket up the arse of some who look to be coasting.

I couldn't get ticket for early October for the night at fir park where AJ meets the supporters. Jeez be a cracking atmosphere at that night now. Maybe i should go on as the warm up act and take the heat off AJ 🤣🤣

Seems a few fans have been brought back to earth with a bang. We're a smaller club who are challenging for top six once we secure safety. Like most sides, we'll go through spells where we look atrocious, and spells where we look fine. Currently we're going through a downward cycle. It's on the manager and players to find a way out of it.

JGR to fadinger, back to JGR over to Moormann back to Paulsen back to fadinger. You get the picture. A severe lack of tempo or attacking invention from back to front. Palmer Holden offering himself up top but no-one wants to give the guy the ball

The more you see their penalty the worse the decision. Ball comes of his foot/lower leg and then onto his arm which was hardly outstretched and in a natural position. Totally bad joke. Celtic got a goal awarded in similar incident. Teams are playing a second opponent in every game. As for their 2nd goal. No idea whats going on there. We pass the ball well enough but midfield to attack is a problem. Dundee are closing down the space and our attackers are not working hard enough to find it.

Alfred has got a fair amount he needs to solve for and not sold he's helping himself. We can all see the issues in defence, which easily solved if puts knight-level in and also Williams at left back. Push Longelo further up park. At right back put in SOD . Midfield for me not convinced Hodge is better than Levit - but neither better than Priestman - hope he's back soon. I'll stop with that but some basics need sorting out.

Sorry.....what is 'sad' about saying we are back in it? Some of the comments today beggar belief though yup its all about opinions. 3 weeks ago we were unbeaten in the league and facing a top German outfit in europe. JGR lack of pace is a liability Longelo looks knackered after 15 mins Little being played at pace....tippy-tappy walking pace at the back Movement from the front 3 isn't great Problems all over through this team. Back to 2-1 now, but i do fear this is the start of the slippery slope for the manager. I really like him, and want it work for him, but just not seeing it.

Losing my patience with the defensive situation here. Moorman would be fine if playing beside a McGinn or an Odonnell but JGR and Sparrow are not up to it. We have Longelo who is a poor defender and a keeper who thinks he’s a better footballer than a goalie. as I say this we score…. Cmon well. sort it out at half time FFS

looks a bit like the gaffer sticking to his guns rather than over reacting. If we play well and win then fine. For me too many players are allowed to not turn up and still keep their place - several of them starting today.
