Only 5 weeks summer holidays.............those poor boys!!

    2016/17 Ins & Outs

He was a truly appalling goalkeeper. He was like watching Sylvester Stallone in Escape to Victory, except Stallone knew where to stand at a corner kick!!

    2016/17 Ins & Outs

I don't think Samson is that bad either. We did have a successful season a few years ago with Lee Hollis as our number one, a guy who looked like he'd Quantum Leaped into our squad. I'm still in shock a guy who had barely played at any team prior to us became our main goalie for a season then disappeared into thin air. Thinking about it he may have Quantum Leaped into Jake Taylors body last season.
  4. Quality kit, I had the away one. Never been a better white Mothewell kit made, IMO. Also a nice wee pic of a pair of Puma Kings, they might even be the fabled Puma SPA kings looking at them. Sure Andy Walker used to wear them!!
  5. Unprofessional performance by a group of players who couldn't be arsed. They played in flip-flops today. Riid Neck!! end of another rotten season....bring on further misery for 2016/17

    Bob Mc Hugh

Good luck to McHugh but he is not a premier league player. I doubt very much he'll make any major contribution with Falkirk next season but I have to say he looks as if he's lost about a stone in weight since going to Falkirk from when he was with us. Dont know if thats a damning indictment of Motherwell's training regime at the time or McHugh himself........probably both!! As for Lawless, don't rate him either, average player. The only player I can think of that we got shot of at a young age was Neil Lennon.........bullet dodged.
  7. i was talking with regard to Leitch who's started all the games. Leitch highlighted this in his interview afterwards? I'm not saying ruthless in an entirely negative way either, sometimes you have to be harsh with certain players to get the best or more out of them. I don't disagree at all with the team selection as we should be playing our best team. What I was happy with and what I thought I highlighted was the attitude of the boys coming on who wanted to prove a point. It's easy for a boy of 16/17 to be told he's not playing and not good enough, to go into a shell......clearly they didn't......which is good!!
  8. Looks like he's straight out of the Lee Erwin School of Media. Fair play tho he's just a young lad, most come over as morons anyway but if they can play, who cares. Fantastic result and performance from a team of young lads, most of whom will be eligible for this team for another couple of seasons. By all accounts Craigan was pretty ruthless with the young lads who’ve played in most of the games and were benched for the final, basically told them they weren’t good enough!! Lovely to see young Leitch has a bit about him to say “f**k you, I am good enough” when he came on. Also wee Falconer with a great finish for a 16 yr old!! Looks like a really good crop of youngsters, just hope they can make the step up in class over the next couple of years. Things definitely looking bright.
  9. 3 new kits next season with a new sponsor. Sorry if this has been posted before, I've just found out today!! shocking......this seasons kits cost me a fortune for my kids before xmas.
  10. Unfortunately I have no recollection of my first game, my dad took me regularly from when I was around 2yrs old. I have a vague memory of watching Pettigrew’s last game. I’m sure it was an away game v Stirling or something?……older fans might help me remember. My first proper kids season ticket was 81/82. What a year to remember, I was at every game that season home and away, after that I was hooked.
  11. £1m is a drop in the ocean to a championship side, even for a development player!! The money they get from their league and TV deals is staggering. The fact Marvin is an young "English" player as well, pulls some weight.
  12. I think we all know it's likely but I thought we'd have got another season out him and sell him the end of next season when he still has a year left on his contract. It's now definite we are looking to ship him out in the summer, if its came from a lapsed comment from Craigan. Quite disappointed unless we're talking a £1m.
  13. Craigan on BT Sports there talking about the Marvin Johnson goal yesterday. "He's got everything, Motherwell will sell him for a lot of money in the Summer" ???????????
  14. Magnificent......Top 6 and a chance of Europe. I think that was my prediction in the start of season poll we had. (albeit by February I thought we'd be in the play-offs again) Just hope we get some more folk through the gates next week to see us spank Glasgow Ceptic.
  15. Brilliant result, 4 wins on the trot!! well done to McGhee and the boys.

    Les Hutchison

Very concerned for our future. We don't have the fan base and the good supporters we have are in general....skint, and cant afford to pay any more than they are already!! I look forward to our local derby in a few years v Wishaw Juniors.
  17. Jesus.. that was a tough crowd to play in front of!! The fir park crowd looked like they'd been given a day out of the asylum. Not even a round of applause when the teams came out...............not seen that since Billy Davies was in charge!!
  18. This Spent all his money on bad suits in the 1990s and for some reason TV companies have taken pity on him due to his bankruptcy, ala Colin Hendry. Absolute arse of a man. Away and pay off the people you owe money to ya fud.
  19. I believe its a must to play all the best U/20s, as it showcases all the young talent at the club. I think both Hall and Cadden played regularly with the group earlier in the year and they are all lads who've been brought up together through pro-youth to signing their first contracts etc. They are a collective group, if the players involved in the 1st team are playing, it definitely inspires the others. I don't think you can underestimate the importance of reaching this final, it draws attention to the club and I know for certain scouts down south do pay attention to this. I've watched the U/20s quite a bit and there are some decent prospects at the club. There are boys like Turnbull and young Leitch who can play at this level for another few years who I think have the ability to do very well in the game!!

    Late Winners

Wee Dougie, midweek at Ibrox early 90s!! We were 1-0 down and came back to win 1-2........place went absolutely mental.....wonderful night!!
  21. Utterly Brilliant result, I loved the attack minded formation but I feared an arse collapsing performance. Does Faddy make the difference? Are the faddy doubters angry? On a positive note, I think Utd are gone....we need to fight on for a top 6 now. Outstanding
  22. i'm alarmed that I actually quite like that formation. very heartened by the attacking formation. Dundee Utd 2 v 'Motherwell 0
  23. I just cant see anything other than defeat tomorrow!! We're just not up for a fight just now and everyone seems to be blaming other parties for the slump.......Mcghee v players, players v fans, fans v players and Mcghee!! Just not a good atmosphere at the club presently!! I do think it'll turn, one good result might even do it, but I doubt it'll be tomorrow!! Cue the meltdown on here!!
  24. Utterly depressing afternoon, simply not good enough. Thank you for "explaining to the supporters" your thoughts Mark, in the post match interview... ya big condescending plank. There's something wrong at our club and I cant pin the blame entirely on Mcghee. Needless to say we are in serious bother and I for one am fed up of spending money I don't have to watch non caring, no fight individuals pick up a good wage. very close to hanging up the scarf for the season.
  25. I've been firmly in the McGhee corner since he arrived but his failure to acknowledge any managerial errors is beginning to annoy me. The press conference today and him bringing up .....once again, of an" individuals lapse of concentration" at the Thistle game is an incredibly arrogant, pass the buck form of management. He's took the easy opt out as wee Ainsworth came straight out and acknowledged his fault, but there were a catalogue of errors in the run up to that goal, poor clearance, no shutting down, Lionel sleeping and josh law not being strong enough to block a tame shot, deflecting it into the net. When things started going tits up for McLeish he started to do the same, highlighting individual error to cover for his managerial shortcomings(when we won he was quick enough to take full credit)..............I really hope this stops from McGhee as its unacceptable. Any further ridiculous team set ups and last minute goals and the knives are out Marky Bhoy.
