Aberdeen game proves his bad tactical ability and lack of confidence in his team. Defending for first twenty minutes waiting to see what they were going to do first instead of being positive going for it against a poor Aberdeen side . Thats just about sums up his ability as a manager with us.

He thinks he’s smarter than he really is.

Completely disagree

All the ones moaning and groaning had better get used to it because he's here next season whether you like it or not.

I'll judge him on his summer transfer dealings and whether he manages to persuade the players he wants to keep to sign up..

The reality is our League is shit , the quality of available players is dropping and no-one can work miracles.

If he fails to win another game this season I don't think he'll be here.

I think he's 100% safe irrespective. He's a good man manager and coach, but we saw his tactical limitations and tendency to overthink yesterday. He's still learning and lets not forget he's a lot less experienced than his opponent yesterday, Stephen Robinson.

I think SK will improve with time. There’s a lot of “experienced” managers out there who will not improve much and wouldn’t do any better job than what the inexperienced SK has done.

Have u seen any improvement since he’s been at the club apart from his first 6 month where he did really well apart from that we have went backwards his signings have let him down badly

There will be folk who will never be convinced but I really like the guy.

Yes he over thinks things and has made mistakes but who doesn't? He deserves the summer to rebuild and his January signings actually looking not too bad and Moses could be the penalty box striker we are crying out for.

Next week we have chance of top 6 which go back 3 months and we were thinking 11th was our only hope.  Yes we might lose next week but here's hoping we win and actually hope for Gers and Dons wins v dundee

It's worth remembering that certain people who will remain nameless have been greetin' about every manager we've had for years now. Those same people were moaning about Robinson, Alexander, McGhee, Baraclough, McCall, and on and on.

And if and when Kettlewell moves on, they'll do the same about the next guy. Some folk just get a kick out of being negative.

I personally think he's a very good coach for us. Sure, there are better ones out there, but we're Motherwell. I'm not sure many better managers would be throwing people out of the way to get to Fir Park and work with our budget.

If we make the top six this season, considering the squad we have? I'd say that's pretty astounding. It won't stop some people from focusing on the teams who didn't make the top six, though, and saying that it wasn't because of us being decent.

Still nothing from the doom mongers? 😀

Because there's no point in offering critical analysis here after a positive result because it's generally met with bollocks like you've offered.

It's impossible to know , if the livi goal wasn't disallowed it would possibly had a different outcome but we will never know . We won, that's all that matters.

If, like me these days, you just go to home matches you'll have got 5 wins in 18 matches this season.  That's not good enough. Or if you like 75 quid a win on your season ticket! More if you are in the posh stand! 🤣

And 2 of those wins were against a team that have been hopeless all season and must have one of the lowest points tallies in the modern era.

If you take them away you get 3 wins from 16.  Ain't great is it?

We've scored goals but our defensive record is absolutely appalling.

We've managed 3 clean sheets in the league all season.  1 at Fir Park and 2 away.  I mean even Livingston managed more than 50% more clean sheets than us (7).  That's got to be some kind of unwanted club record surely? 3 clean sheets in a season.....

I supported the manager through the tough period because I want to look at things more long term than a period within a season but there is definitely a lot of scope for improvement.

I'd keep Kettlewell at the helm but there are areas where we need to show considerable improvement next season.

Yeah I completely agree and the clean sheet stats are poor but. We're staying up and Livi aren't. I think losing Milka to injury and then him going didn't help and really huge credit to the team for pulling us away from the play off spot.

I don't like the playing one striker tactics.  Bair would be better with a strike partner. He played Vale up top then decided to play him in deeper role

Completely agree, the current squad will occasionally raise their game but will invariably disappoint , particularly the defence and the Goalkeeper. The defence needs a complete revamp. Other than keeping McGinn, Gent  I'm not fussed about any of the rest. Halliday has shown bugger all that should tempt us to make his move permanent. Oli Shae needs moved out , ditto Barry McGuire. Id like to see Bair and Moses play up front next year. However if he secures Vale again I think Bair and Vale will be our front pairing. I sincerely hope we dont try and sign KVV if we lose Vale. I think Kettlewell has a big job ahead but frankly I wouldn't be looking to replace him. He deserves a chance to improve things but if we have another season like this and totally ineffective in the cups Id make the next season his last.

We've currently lost 53 goals, the same number we lost last season. In the last 10 years we've conceded fewer goals on only 2 occasions. If we manage to score 3 goals in the remaining games we'll match last season's total, which was the highest return for more than a decade.

So the issue is neither the leakiest defence we've had nor a powderpuff attack. We've become harder to beat at exactly the same time we've found it harder to win. Doesn't necessarily make for great excitement, but it's not the worst we've ever suffered either.

We can't sign KVV as far as I'm aware. He's going back to his club in Holland to see out his contract am sure which is why Killie couldn't get him on a longer term deal. Halliday is already signed on for another season. We probably won't be keeping Gent either given that he's on loan. I'd keep SOD and I hope Slattery is offered at least another year.
