FirParkCornerExile
Disappointed Seddons gone but we coped without him for long periods. I'm sure our new signings will come but hopefully soon . Wonder how much we got for Seddon

weeyin
Seddon was also a good co-commentator on the MFC TV stream. Liked him as a player, but unfortunately couldn't rely on him to be fit. If the new gaffer is going to continue with high tempo, high press tactics, we need people who can cope with that level of training

weeyin
Halliday managed to play every game, so while he could never be accused of being pacey, he is fit.

Fair play to him but I believe that’s the first time in Halliday’s footballing career this has happened. The likelihood of another injury free season at his age is slim. I really hope we see a few players coming in very soon, and getting a proper pre-season in, otherwise we’ll be sending out the batsignal with Tony Watts face on it. fizoxy
Seddon is injury prone because he was injured last season. Halliday played every game last season, but isn't fit enough because he didn't do that before 🙂

Would that then be the Twatt signal? Seems appropriate...
weeyin
It would be ideal to get new players in early, but the window doesn't close until 1st September and most of the decent ones like to take their time and see what's available. And most of the dross rises to the top nearing the end of the window, it's always better to get your recruitment done early, more time to get them integrated into the squad.
Villageman
I do not think we will see any movement in before mid July. Matches are needed to fully assess abilities of current players. He will probably only have seen videos and training with Netherlands adding to that. Match vs Bellshill will I think be mostly academy with Wells, Ross and Whyte possibly. Carlisle ? not much more than a training stint. Clyde and Peterhead are the only really competitive matches to follow before then.

We shouldn't panic but we could start the group stage with a threadbare squad, especially up front and on the left. Maybe some trialists in the Netherlands? wellgirl
We are also in the situation where other teams can afford to pay more than us. St Mirren. Killie. Assume we'll be relying on the usual free transfers and loans

Not sure about that. January, maybe, but why would a decent player immediately sign for us in June when they might have another 2 or 3 offers in July? Killie have signed about five players to date I think. We've signed no one. Wasn't expecting us to to be fair given our manager situation

wellsince75
we've brought in McGhee and Fadinger who are both very decent quality players. If we continue to attract that calibre we'll be fine.

Or 3 times in the case of goalkeepers.
joewarkfanclub
I have it on good authority that Killie are by no means, in a position to pay more for players than we can this season. They have had to significantly tighten their belts due to the costs of their new training facility and upcoming cost of laying a new pitch.
