Toxteth O'Grady Posted yesterday at 07:11 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 07:11 AM Today's BBC gossip... "Udinese, who had a £2.5m offer for Lennon Miller, 18, rejected in January, are ready to try again with an improved offer for the Motherwell midfielder, while Bologna are also keen on the Scotland international. MelvinBragg Posted yesterday at 09:00 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:00 AM Regards Miller, a bidding war would be great obviously but, unlike other players we've sold, I'm more concerned that he makes the right move for his career. Because as well the fee right now, I think any add ons we manage to negotiate could be huge for us down the line...
wellgirl Posted yesterday at 01:03 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:03 PM We've apparently just refused an 800k offer for Stam. On sky sports. Norwegian club Viking. Says fell below our valuation and we aren't actively looking to sell him

It would (if true, as they say). Would leave us seriously short on strikers though, so unless we have a instant replacement who has been through a pre-season, it would be a big risk to let him go with the league about to start. Spit_It_Out Posted yesterday at 02:40 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:40 PM 800k for Stam I would swim with him on my back to Viking for that and I like him as a player! Take the money wedge down for Hale the rest would be history.

I think I’d grab it, and I’d offer it all to Ross County for Hale. Even Bair on loan I think ticks boxes to how JBA wants his strikers to play. Flash in the pan. Â People have been complaining AP isn't suited as the striker in our new set up because his first touch isn't good enough so there's zero chance or it working with Bair, his first touch goes further than most people can kick. His success was built on using his pace and strength with acres of space to run into while the rest of our team stood on Liam Kelly's toes, it absolutely won't work when we've got our goalie standing 40 yards from goal. He's an absolute unit and some athlete but a football player he is not.
wellfan Posted yesterday at 03:13 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:13 PM If the Stama rumours are true, we should be taking that money and laughing all the way to the bank. 2

It would potentially be a great profit but only if we had a replacement lined up as our striking options are zero at the moment
MelvinBragg Posted yesterday at 04:15 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:15 PM Every player has their price and these days I get the impression that clubs rarely put a bid in for players where there's no possibility of a deal. Agents are contacted before clubs to test the water.. We may not be "actively looking to sell" but you have to figure that Viking have a fair idea that we (and Stamatelopolous) are open to a conversation. On that basis, we probably have a contingency plan in place...
Busta Nut
Not a fucking chance we take that Stama offer. We've no forwards as it is. Stama is getting a rough ride for hee haw.

If the Miller money wasn't incoming and we had another striker worthy of the name, I reckon that bid gets accepted. But the Miller money is coming and, as you say, we have no other strikers so it's a very much different situation...

If offered £800k it's tempting but I think with a run of games and injury free he will be key player. Kettlewell signed him then played him in headless chicken role. JB playing him in correct position. However if viking upped bid to £1 ,000,000 plus add-on's it's very tempting

texanwellfan
I think AP is going to have a good season with us. If we have balls coming in the box from both sides I can see him grabbing a good amount of goals.

Great piece of business. Though as in business never accept first offer. If they want him they will pay.
