I’m sitting watching the hearts v Sunderland game and I have to say the way we have played in the past 2 games is miles more entertaining than this muck.
Hearts keep launching the ball up the park and into Channels and Sunderland aren’t much better although are trying to play a wee bit.(they will be relegated by Xmas)

i think im becoming Askou-ized

Thats fine as far it goes. However could we cope defensively if Hearts play that type of game against us?

Every team that plays out from the back loses a goal like that - even the good ones like Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers had a point when he said that fans are quick to criticise when you lose a goal that way, but are quick to forget (or not even remember) when the long ball gets returned 10 seconds later for a goal - and that happens more often.

Its been a bugbear of mine for years how easily we gave the ball away. If the opposition don't have the ball they cant score. That's why I'm so interested to see how we fare this season. Will our goals against improve, what will we do if teams try to man mark us?? interesting times.

There’s definitely a time for the long ball or taking the chance of getting the ball into the box but that’s what the players have to learn, making the right decision between retaining possession and taking a risk. Our normal over the past few years has involved no such decision making, it’s just been hoof the ball up and chase it.
