A remote medical from the NZ team's camp in San Diego? Even if he was going there - which I doubt - no way we'd set a price until after his World Cup is over. mio
No one up here can get close to the wages teams in the championship pay, I guarantee he’ll be at least doubling his wages going from Celtic to there. I saw a list of players in that league and I think the average is around £15/20k pw and that’s the average. I’m sure Turnbull was £25k before Cardiff were relegated. crazy to think 30years ago it would be a step down from SPL wages to go to a lower league English side. Happy Dosser
Unfortunately, it's the Sky effect of obscene amounts of money thrown at the English game bolstered by huge revenue from its relentless advertising of gambling firms on TV. Even the trickle down from the English Premiership to the Championship puts us completely in the shade. In any case, I wouldn't think the likes of Doncaster would be capable of negotiating a deal which would be to the general advantage of Scottish clubs (i.e. beyond simply the OF) .

The averages in the Championship are heavily skewed by the newly relegated teams on EPL wages. Still some great wages to be had though with the right team, but lots of players in the "lesser" teams earn closer to 5 or 6 grand a week. When we live in the UK, and Scotland in particular, and insist on playing football through the winter, a lot of people are always going to prefer sitting in their warm house with a beer watching the game. Given that's Ranger or Celtic on telly every week, I doubt that would change if those games were televised in June or July.

If they have money then can we not persuade them to take Stamatelopolous as well, a sort of buy one get one free deal. 1

Even people that have got loads of money are not daft. That's probably why they have lots of money.
wellfan
I suspect that with Welsh and JBA gone, Gordon could well stay this season if Johansson rates him and can promise him regular starting football. Otherwise, we’ll probably be signing a big, bald but silky Scandinavian brute of a CB to fill the JBA-shaped hole in our hearts.

Spit_It_Out
Not good about McGinn out for months we shall need to strengthen the back line more than I thought we would.
wellfan
Hendry confirmed out injured again. He’s turned out to be an absolute waste of a signing. With McGinn out too, and Welsh and Gordon gone, we’re very short at centre-back. And let’s not even get started on Stama. He’s another busted flush.
