dennyc
Anderlecht signing Antman from Rangers for £4.5m might mean they drop their interest in Maswanhise. He might end up being the one to stay a bit longer. His Agent will be gutted.

I recon he had a one off season in a good team scoring all those goals, he may be fast but I dont think he is that consistently good for a big money signing. Any team scouts worth their salt should suss that out . Think they might have done that, hopefully not.

This is why we are needing to find someone in the middle that can stick the ball in the net or at least chip in with a few goals.
texanwellfan
Would be very enjoyable to see him be SPFL top scorer again this season 🙂

Strange change of direction to switch from the Premiership's top goal scorer to a player who only scored one more league goal than me last season. EDIT: I just noticed a more interesting stat that Antman and Maswinhese have both scored 23 league goals. Antman took 167 games to achieve that, JT took 59. Maybe they forgot to look at that second part.
0Neils40yarder
You've got to wonder what made Rangers sign him in the 1st place, never mind Anderlecht

Hopefully last loan deal, like to see more permanent ones coming in now

Hopefully, he does really well for us, but let's get the permanent players in place please.

So if he's any good we might get him for free at the end of the season.

wellsince75
The quality of signings are decent and as long as loanees are limited to a selected few then fine . I do wonder if our new manager has a bias for young players . Hopefully not to Gannon level . From his recent interview it’s clear that there’s still more to come between now and the end of the window . Expect more in midfield and attack . Also suspect more will leave . JT , AP maybe Thor. Also got a niggling feeling that Longelo may leave . Very interesting month to come for both ins and outs .
Mccus28
I really hope Longelo doesnt leave, the difference between having him on the pitch over Wilson is wild!!!!!!!!!

I've no inside info whatsoever, but linking the various snippets together, I'd say its very likely. The question then is do we ship Wilson out and bring in an understudy or competition for Williams? Having to rely on Wilson for the season gives me the fear Dave, hes too slow and i dont think he is comfortable with our playing out from the back style.

dennyc
10 minutes ago, weeyin said: Why will we have to rely on him? I thought Dylan Williams is a left back. Tactically it looks like AJ plans to start two on the left side who can support each other in pushing forward, with Longelo and Williams the pairing that best fits that set up. Despite the promise of his early career, Wilson has not progressed either offensively or defensively. He should be moved on. That's the same Wilson who struggled to get a game in the Championship last season and who clearly still cannot last a full 90 minutes. If the sale of our major assets continues (contrary to what we were promised) and Longelo does ship out, then we would be relying on Wilson to slot in unless we bring in a direct Longelo replacement. Hardly ideal as we need to finalise our first choice starting eleven sooner rather than later.
weeyin
When everyone is fit, I think we have about 10 first team defenders right now. If we are bringing in more, then one or two must be on their way out.
Orinoco
Wilson or Longelo are the two who could move on i would have thought. We need more experience in midfield and a proper number 9. A creative wide pacey player would also be handy.

First half of that sentence is doing a lot of heavy lifting there, particularly given McGinn is out for a while and one is Jordan McGhee..
