Sell Maswanhise first opportunity of decent offer,

No one will put a decent offer in for him . He has reverted to type, a fast striker in the wrong place and always on the wrong foot and a yard short in position.

He was lucky to be in a good team playing well to score the goals he has . Won't be missed.

I thought Motherwell were fantastic tonight.

Really, really unlucky in key moments of the game but the travesty of the penalty aside, it is equally a travesty if we as Motherwell fans cannot appreciate that performance tonight

That team did not bottle it tonight. They were the better side in almost every aspect of the game and but for two moments of real quality from Maeda and Nygren they would have won the match.

We played well in spells and deserved a draw. However we gave Celtic too much freedom around our box. Nygren's goal was well taken but he had far too much time and space to pick his spot.

Exactly he hasn't looked interested since all the talk of a transfer, the last thing we need is more speculation over the summer and hes still with us at the start of next season, him and said are like playing with 9 men when there both in the team.

We could have all written the script to the end of that game tonight, absolutely disgraceful, cheating at its most blatant and it will make barely a ripple in the media, sadly we have to watch our team play in the most biased league on the planet and it's never going to change.tonight is exactly the reason why I've been rooting for hearts all season to win the league but they don't have a hope in hell on the last day, they will be screwed over from the first whistle.

That's me in a breath

If one thing came out of tonight for me it's finally made my mind up that Ill never be back to a Celtic game.

Their fans really are absolute animals.

I've just left my son who is a wheelchair user and sits with me in the disabled shelter still traumatisd because the scumbags who invaded the park from the main stand nearly came through the roof of the shelter.

2 got onto the park and were huckled by the stewards but were throwing punches as they were led out to the gate.

One guy fell off the roof onto his back and looked to have seriously injured himself.

I'll visit the zoo now when we're at home to Celtic as the animals there are better behaved.

Worst penalty decision I've ever seen. Always laughed at Rangers fans when they said the League is corrupt but I'm now beginning to think they're onto something.

Correct, it has been a great season but we can't ignore some very obvious facts. When the chips are down we've come up short. We need to bury that stat on Saturday but I'm not convinced, it would just be typical to end our season in 5th having been 4th for so long. One win in 9 is poor irrespective how the games have actually panned out.

Fought and nought forgot by me bro

Before the game, three guys in the Hunter stand jumped over the wall at the halfway line and onto the pitch, then ran down the touchline and into the South stand, with no police or stewards in sight.

A bunch of Celtic fans also managed to get in to the South stand pre-match from the corner where the beer garden is. Presumably they jumped over someone's garden wall/fence.

We have indeed been on the wrong end of very poor refereeing decisions, tonight's being the worst by a country mile.

I agree we've been falling short. However, even if we finish 5th, which I think we will, it will have been a great season and the team will have achieved way above my expectations.

A great season compared to other seasons, without doubt,  but not compared to the high standards we've set and produced for 90% of this season. To potentially end behind a bog standard Hibs team is frankly a very poor return for this season, irrespective of how it compares to other season.

Everything that can be said about the penalty decision has been said but in the cold light of day, it doesn’t impact on our pursuit for 4th. I’d rather focus on another outstanding performance and I’m just gutted that we haven’t signed off on one of the best ever seasons at Fir Park with at least a point - I actually thought we were going to nick all three.

I’ve been one to slightly criticise our points tally against the top 6 but that’s possibly a little unfair. When you reflect on our 12 games against the top three, we’ve went toe to toe every time and just lacked that wee bit of luck, composure or quality to see us over the line.

Onto Easter Road. It would be a travesty if we don’t finish 4th and get the opportunity to celebrate the achievement with such a memorable team while wishing a fond farewell to those that will inevitably progress to a higher level over the summer.

Having seen some of the video clips, I’m not sure how VAR amd Beaton can be 100% sure he played the ball with his hand. For me the big clue is how the ball went out for a throw, the flight of the ball would strongly suggest he headed it.

I think the ball may have hit his hand but his hand is there because the Celtic players shoulder pushed it into that position as he jumped and his upward momentum pushed Sparrows arm up. Therefore it's not a penalty.

For me trusty comes from behind Nicholson and makes contact with his arm.  This knocks it up towards his head as the ball comes towards him.  You cannot say that the ball touched his hand in particular the force that the ball is knocked away with suggests that it was his head.  You cannot say it is clear and obvious.  Trusty for me goes down clutching his head when it looks more like the contact was on the shoulder. Clear attempt to get someone a red card so that calls in the slattery decision.

ultimately we have played well after the split.  Results haven’t gone our way tonight and at Falkirk but if you said we would draw with hearts and beat rangers at their home I would take it.  Celtic hibs hearts rangers all spend more on their team than us but we match them and beat them.  We need to use what we feel just now as fuel for the hibs game and ensure 100 per cent focus and put hibs to the sword. Now is the time to stand up and sing for Motherwell!

I’m a bit surprised by some of the negative posts. Yes, we have faltered a bit down the home Stretch but we have managed to create a team that plays good football, has been able to go toe to toe with any team in the league amd with a wee bit of luck could have been in an even higher position. I’m disappointed too but I think phrases like “this is not good enough” is a bit over the top. So much has been fixed from previous seasons and there is still plenty room for improvement but I’d rather have seasons like this than the ones we’ve been subjected too for the last umpteen years.
no reason we can’t keep our 4th position.

I’m not surprised by some of the comments, you’ll probably find that the majority of these posts are from guys who have posted very little over the last few months and just come on here after defeats and want us to go back to last seasons pish so they can write shite more often.

If Jens is having any thoughts about hanging around Scottish football for another season tonight just may have been the straw that breaks the camels back.

Must be sickening for him to put in all the work during the week to see it mean nothing because of shite referees video assistants and a poundshop VAR system.

I watch Match of the Day and in the EPL the VAR does not get involved nearly as much as in Scotland. That tonight was a disgrace. None of the fans behind the goal nor any Celtic player claimed for a penalty. Beaton looks at it. He knows if he does not give it he will be subjected to days of abuse in the media, maybe be physically threatened, assaulted or have his windows panned in. Taking all these factors into his head it's no wonder he gave the pen. The game is corrupt. Nothing has been done about the disgraceful scenes at Ibrox after the cup game and nothing will be done about the Celtic fans invading the pitch tonight. But we will probably be fined for the pyros.

I won't be back. Our games corrupt from the core. That var decision Even made news in England as a joke. If it hits his hand and goes in direction it dod that defies the laws of physics. Even Gary linekrr calling them out

I feel the same as you but why take it out on the club? Don't capitulate to these er... "incompetent" (is that the right word?) officials. I'm raging, as we all are, at Beaton and the VAR team but I'll be be back at Fir Park next season. I'll also feel justifed in jeering them.
