FirParkCornerExile
St Mirren are very much trying to emulate the style we adopted last season. Be interesting to watch two teams who will be trying to play a similar syle.

mio
Can’t stand St Mirren, their fans annoy the life out me and the semi final reaction from them last year will be something I’ll not forget. In general I have no problems with any clubs or fans outwith the old firm but for some reason St Mirren are the exception. lets thump them

Kmcalpin Posted yesterday at 08:09 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:09 AM An interesting game in prospect. Not sure what St Mirren we will encounter given their recent changes. However we're not on here to discuss that lot. It'll be a tough encounter given our injury situation and hectic early season schedule, so I won't read too much into the result and performance, unless we win. Every cloud has a silver lining and Girdwood-Reich and Moormann will be a little more rested than we originally envisaged. I expect that Williams and Sparrow may return to the starting line up. I was a little surprised that SOD didn't get some gametime in Germany, but thats as may be. Some time from the bench for Thor and Stama? I suspect our goalscoring ability will come under scrutiny as will our defensive performance at set pieces, from both our fans and the St Mirren management. For this particular fixture, I'd plead with our fans to be patient and understanding.
Mad Dog Posted yesterday at 08:52 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:52 AM Paulsen SODs Girdwood-Reich Moormann Williams Hodge Fadi Lowry Charles-Cook Seb Longelo Said and Maswanhise miss out for me as I want two wide men firing crosses in as often as possible. Kmcalpin Posted yesterday at 09:06 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:06 AM Not sure Charles-Cook warrants a start unless its purely for squad rotation purposes. I''m still to be convinced by him.
Happyhonest Posted yesterday at 09:42 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:42 AM I think AJ will want to change a number of players out to help manage load. Just not sure if we can. SOD KNIGHT MOORMAN AND WILLIAMS MID IS TRICKY WHYTE HODGE AND LOWRY VOGT SEB AND COOK think he will look to make early changes bringing on sparrow Thor etc and try and manage the returning from injury players. This in particular is going to make this a hard game. Hoping for a win but a European hangover needs managed would take a draw.

I feel the same way - it’s a shame we don’t have the weekend off as suspect mentally and physically the team has gone through a lot . The team needs time to gel , find the best starting 11 . id be delighted to see a few glimpses of what might be in store

Richie
For those wanting to go, but had issues with collecting physical tickets, it seems the ticket link is now redirecting to St Mirren site and email tickets are available.

Actually all that head-banging has reminded me of this sublime dialogue from a Carry on Doctor or some such fillum: Doctor (probs. Dirk Bogarde, ironically, whipping out his stethoscope): Big breaths now, Brenda. Brenda: Yeth, and I'm only thixteen! I'll get my C&A coat........... Prestwickwell
Think a draw would be a decent result after a hard night in Europe looking forward to it though & hopefully sneak it
joewarkfanclub
Thinking about what the lineup could be, taking into account minutes played, fitness levels etc, we could go....... Paulsen Sparrow Jake Moorman Williams Fadinger Hodge Kanga Lowry Said Seb With SOD, Whyte, Cookie, JT, Eythor all making appearances from the bench after 60 minutes.... I really wish clubs would make up their minds it either available online or its not. We're in that twilight transitional zone between old style paper tickets and electronic ones. A bit like supermarket checkouts and cash v electronic payment. It seems harsh on primeval dinosaurs like me but I suppose clubs need to unilaterally agree to simply stop paper tickets. If you can't handle electronic tickets then we don't want your custom. That time is coming shortly, rightly or wrongly.

Their old dump sounded like a brothel area and their new one, The Methadome, is a soulless Legoland kinda ground. A repeat of our last visit there would be just great.

MJC
I actually liked their old stadium at Love Street. Was a proper old ground and made for a great away day if going in by train. Their fans are arseholes mind you.
