Kilmarnock v Motherwell 17/10/2026

That second half was every bit as bad as the Celtic game against a piss poor Kilmarmock team that should basically have humped us.

Utterly clueless. SOD will come in for huge criticism today and much of it deserved but he wasn't alone.  When one or two players have a bad game its an off day but when every player continually looks rotten there are two issues and they are either the players are not that good or the manager doesnt know how to get the best out of them. If you have both you have big problems.

I'm now over 50% convinced AJ is a poor choice (that said I still stand by the line it would be crazy to sack a manager after 9 league games). I'm actually becoming more convinced every week that we've spent two million quid on utter dross (Lowery, excluded) . Mooreman is slower than me and Girwood-Reich is slower than Mooreman.

Far too soon to press the panic button yet but if we keep playing like that today we are relegation certainties.

You can tell it’s not going to work for the manager can’t you, get a feeling based on what you’re seeing

just the same as you call out the keeper early doors….nah nah the keepers decent ( good shot stopper but nothing else needed but he’s employed by a premiership team so he must be alright )

just the same as it’s a season to far for O’Donnell….cant say that ( it is )

fadingers fell off a cliff, longelo looks disinterested, right backs an issue, forwards up front don’t get any service & we finally put a cross in & guess what….score

we’re absolutely clueless….these players aren’t bad players so it’s down to the manager

We’re in a world of trouble

I might take exception that these "arent bad players". I remain to be convinced most of them aint dross.

I thought for about a 15 min period in the first half, we looked OK going forward. Fadinger was playing the role that Priestman/Watt would have played, moving Hodge out of the way and we build from the back again for a short period, but I'm not sure how Hodge fits into all this. He can't play the 'Watt' role, that's for sure. Outside that short period we were just a mess. I can't see what we're trying to do. There's no patterns of play (other than out to Sparrow and backwards again). There's no proper press and no proper off the ball movement. Something to think about that we haven't looked decent on the ball out of defence since wee Oscar got injured.

Looks like a team that doesn't actually know what it's meant to be doing.

Those suggesting and believing the manager should get more time - what is exactly will that achieve ?

The more time he spends with the team the worse we look, the more disconnected the players look and the more he knuckles down on his style of play that to me looks like playing out from the back side to side until pressed then hoof it to a lone striker with no one near him

I ask again what will time achieve ?

We’re absolutely shite and getting worse with every game. The buck stops with the manager and, as I’ve said before, I think we’re witnessing the beginning of the end for him.

He’s either completely dismantled everything that was good about us or simply isn’t good enough to get the best out of what he’s got. And let’s not forget the significant financial backing he’s received. He’s taking us backwards.

Theres no plan in the world which can accommodate that defending...even the killue commentators were laughing and called it " Sunday league" ...we need to get some decent defenders in pronto

Well the manger signed Paulsen, Moorman, Girdwood-Reich, Knight-Lebel and decided after watching O'Donnell in training he should play. He thinks Sparrow is a full back. That's all we have. And they are not going to save us.

Paulsen, sod and sparrow need dropped and lets see if the others can up things, we can be gifting goals to teams like today.

I'd love the manager to be successful,  its a big 2 weeks for him, I reckon...im probably thinking he cant turn it around but I live in hope.

Watched the game on Motherwell TV totally gutted at the result and the last 30 minutes capitulation against a rank average Killie side.

The first Killie goal was yet again a mistake by Polsen but after we went behind I felt we were positive, closing down, challenging for balls, winning second balls and for once we’re looking to go forward and it paid off, Lowry got a good goal and Said and Mas should have scored.

Once the second half starts and we get ahead and should have seen the game out from there but two school boy errors by SOD cost us the game, Killie resorted to hoofball over the top as they recognised we were vulnerable, how SOD stayed in the field I’ll never know, why when AJ has KL on the bench he wasn’t brought on ahead of JGR I have no bloody idea.

For me I just don’t see where we spent £2m in the close season, Sparrow is never a RB, and JK shd have been on from the start, Moorman n KL shd start, Hodge is offering nothing at the moment and shd be benched, Mas just looks out his depth, his shooting is crap.

Where has the team that destroyed Havnor, Helsinki and played so positively against Freiburg and steam rolled over United gone?

Unfortunately it seems the longer AJ has in training the worse we get, I think it’s our season defining 3 biggest games coming up, if we continue to lose then we have to be proactive to survive in the league and for me that’s when we have to part company with Alfred, but if we get the wins we need then I think confidence will come back..I bloody hope so!

At the moment I’d say we stick but the next 3 games we need at least 2 victories and a draw.

oh hes not alone but doesnt stop him being honking.

Possibly but im hoping the guys that came on can do better that what started or who do we drop?

One thing in our favour,  theres a few very ordinary teams in bottom of league,  tightening up might be enough to save us.

Think we were all hoping to build on last year and the money we made but at this minute,  staying up is important

That’s the thing isn’t it

maswanise miles off it…..nobody better on the bench

longelo not interested…..nobody better on the bench

no style of play

to me we’d be as well sticking the 2 big boys upfront & just pumping it long & playing off 2nd balls

at least it might be entertaining if nothing else

Not a chance this team are taking 7 points

It would appear that the players basically chucked it today when they went 3-2 down. Then it became tombola football with half the team subbed. Anybody's guess what would have happened if someone could injured apart from a head knock. The manager doesn't have a clue what his best 11 is. Maybe there isn't a best 11. He is still talking about sticking to the process. I get the feeling that the players have sussed out that he is clueless. Everyone of his signings apart from possibly Lowry (and he is on loan) have been disasters. The team has no physical presence. We do not win second balls. We can't defend. There is no strength, fight or determination. Honestly what is our identity as a team? We look like 11 guy's who have just met one another. We are not a team. When asked about what the team does this coming week, it was the same old answer. We stick to the process. I admire anyone who thinks this bunch of misfits is suddenly going to become a cohesive unit. There is absolutely no sign of that. I get a feeling that what we are seeing is that the recent performances are as good as these players are. This is their level. They are not good enough to be playing in the Premier League. One team has to get relegated and at the moment we are giving every indication that it could be us.

Longelo, Fadinger and Said looked capable at this level last season. Koutroumbis and Priestman also although they've been unavailable for pretty much all of this season. Lowry looks good enough. Others, the jury is out...

Problem is, of those players who have proven to be good enough at this level, none are centre halfs or centre forwards. So in both boxes (where it counts), no one proven. And very little leadership or experience anywhere in the side..

Are the players simply not good enough or could another manager get more out of them? What counts against the manager is the fact that the more training time he has had with the players, the worse we seem to play..

This is only going one way for the manager...

What i would say bud is if Maswanhise and Longelo aren't interested then that's poor from them.  Spitting dummy out cos haven't moved but only way they get a move is by doing it on the pitch.

Aye its frustrating times

A good manager wouldn’t allow it and would help them progress.

As much as I am Unsure of the manager, the players need to step up. Far too many are half arseing it. I just watched Dundee run through brick walls tonight. We need the same. Far too many of them are chucking it and not giving 100%
