I saw we lost a seat last night RIP an older fella in front of us had the audacity to sit down after celebrating the goal and it snapped off the plank it was attached to. Luckily he was un-injured I think? Disgraceful anyway…. My sh1tty seat in the POD is secured. been searching all day for flights for the following week but it’s either too expensive or way too much of a trains/planes/automobiles situation. For anyone going, enjoy it. I was in Dortmund and it’s in the top 3 of my Motherwell experiences. I was younger then right enough and handled my booze and lack of sleep much better then.

That was absolutely magnificent tonight. They started quite well in terms of possession, and we looked a bit nervous for 15 minutes, but gradually we took control and a very enjoyable evening ensued. We have replaced our outgoing players very sensibly so far, although another signing or two wouldn't go amiss and although there were a few slack passes and some dubious decisions from the ref, at no time did I feel worried that they would put us under any real pressure, This time last year all the short passes in the 18 yard box scared me Sh*tless but now it is just amusing to watch the opposition run sideways like headless chickens. Add in that AJ is an absolute pleasure to listen to, and I think this year could be even better than last year. What a great time to be a 'Well fan.

If someone can point me towards an all round better performance from a Motherwell team i will stand corrected...incredible performance all over the park. Exceptional

Excellent performance. Dare I say it, we were a level above HJK and well worth the win. And I think we still have levels of sharpness to go up. Said's goals were outrageous. Maradona-esque. Defensively we look very sound, Priestman and Fadinger were excellent. Looks like a strong core down the middle.

There was a guy in the POD last night that I was ready to rattle. Every 5 mins “git the baw up the park…. Stoap aw this fannyin aboot at the back” it was like he’d stepped out of a coma after 18 months and thought it was still a Kettlewell team.

Well Oasis were dreadful, so seems like they paid a fitting tribute.

Alot of chat about resting players for this game. Last season the chat was how it appeared we did not take cup games seriously by playing weakened teams. We cant afford to take Stenny lightly they appear to have started their season well. Play our strongest team, win the game early if possible and then withdraw players for rest. Every game we play brings more understandings and relationships between players, which improves the team structure and unity. Something that improves our chances against an up comming top side.

We all love a wee stat. Motherwell have won more European matches in their last 4 matches than Rangers have in their last 15 matches.

Someone is going to have to have a wee word with AJ. This cautious, patient approach to signings is not the Motherwell way. Does he not know, that each season, we sign 15+ loan signings, who fall into one of three categories: signed while injured, injured during first appearance or injured during training session. This sensible approach is worrying ...

That was one for the ages. A very professional performance against the biggest club in Finland. Ok they are not Barcelona, but this is a team who qualify for Europe most seasons and have reached the group stages only a few years ago. We schooled them. Thought Lowry and Said were superb. Moorman is a step up on Welsh, he is that good and was delighted to see Olly Whyte stroll about the park like a veteran midfielder. Whats brilliant about being a Motherwell fan these days is that this is not just a flash in the pan, this is it now. We are a football club who has grasped the fact you need to modernise and play football the right way and the rewards will come.

Suprised JT never got it...

Did not think he was that great. Seem to favour the visitors and gave alot of very soft fouls, especially 1st half. He improved slightly in 2nd half. In saying that you are correct to say he was streets ahead of the scottish officials! Standards are declining even with all the tv recordings they need to study, learn and improve.

Utterly dominant from start to finish. One of the most memorable nights I've had at Fir Park. Enjoy the bragging rights tomorrow Well fans and be sure to get tore into those of the blue side of Glasgow. 😁

I’ll be surprised if we don’t give away a gift at some point. Hopefully not one that costs us points or knocks us out of a cup. But we are all aware of the risks and willing to take the risk to watch our team play some lovely stuff.

There was also a through pass that split the centre backs and just eluded two players bursting in behind. Given time those attackers will know what he is capable of and react a split second earlier and so make the most of his vision.

So many great performances tonight. Special mention to Lowry, who really came good and put in tremendous effort. No doubting his commitment and attitude tonight, both were excellent. I realise that Said will take the plaudits for his game changing contributions, but for me Moorman is class. He completely controlled the backline and his passing through the lines is reminiscent of Watt. What a player he could be for us this season. Moorman for me.

An epic night that will live long in my memory. Credit to AJK and the players.

Yes, and gracious thanks to them for that, but where are the Scottish TV highlights? It seems only The Uglies are worthy of notice by the cameras. At least Peter Martin on PLZ gave us a glowing report, so well done to him.

I was always confident there were plenty of ball playing central defenders out there to replace Welsh, but credit to the recruitment team to come up with one that is so good.

Dont want to get carried away, but..... That was magnificent. Certainly the best European performance Ive seen at Fir Park and as dominant a display as I think Ive seen in any game. Helsinki barely had a shot on goal all night and we could have easily scored 5 or 6. They could barely get the ball off us until we shut up shop and went 5 at the back. Is this how football is supposed to be? Great credit to the manager and the players for hitting the ground running. Im sure most of us had the fear that we had seen the last of performances like that when Jens and our 3 best players left in the summer. Its testament to them and the recruitment team that a seemless transition is well underway. Bravo Motherwell! 🧡❤️🧡

That was a European night to remember. The atmosphere was electric. It is great to see Fir Park rocking. No failures on the pitch for Motherwell. Star man for me tonight was Moorman, he was superb in that defence. Lowry looks to be fitting in nicely. Fadinger and Priestman were imperious in the midfield. Said is adding scoring to his game, which is great to see. Olly Whyte looks every bit a first team player. I'm sure that he'll get plenty of game time this season. A great time to be a Well fan. I need to comment on the Referee. In the two European ties the referees have been streets ahead of the utter shite that passes for refereeing in Scotland. Let the game flow. Compare it to that fud who refereed the Falkirk game. Most Scottish games the chat after the game revolves around the referees incompetence. Two European ties and no such discussions.

We've come on leaps and bounds as a club over the 2 years. The best football we've been treated to in living memory. That eradicated some of the previous underwhelming performances when the crowds were high etc. I've never seen us have control like this in European ties - very good first half and for 20 mins of the second half we were outstanding. Stand up and sing.🎶

I've said a few times if he can add 10 goals a season to his game he'll be worth Elijah money.

The chairman and CEO were in mrs Baillies before the game last night and i heard a few people complaining about the POD seats to them, but no idea if they are actually going to address the issue, for me i dont think they will andxwe will be stuck with rthem.
